Maintenance and care Your Lexus is equipped with a tire pressu re warning system that uses tire pres-
sure warning valves and transmitters to detect low tire inflation pressure before
serious problems arise. ●
If the tire pressure drops below a predet ermined level, the driver is warned by
a screen display and a warning light. ( P. 525)●
The tire pressure detected by the
tire pressure warning system can be
displayed on the multi-information
display. ( P. 96)
◆ Installing tire pressure warning valves and transmitters
When replacing tires or wheels, tire pr essure warning valv es and transmitters
must also be installed.
When new tire pressure wa rning valves and transmitters are installed, new ID
codes must be registered in the tire pressure warning computer and the tire
pressure warning system must be initia lized. Have tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter ID codes registered by your Lexus dealer. ( P. 490)
◆ Initializing the tire pressure warning system ■
The tire pressure warning system must be initialized in the following circum-
stances: ●
When rotating the tires in above situation. ●
When the set tire pressure has been changed before towing. ( P. 569)
When the tire pressure warning system is initialized, the current tire inflation
pressure is set as the benchmark pressure.Tire pressure warning system

When trouble arises If your vehicle is transported by a flat-
bed truck, it should be tied down at the
locations shown in the illustration.
If you use chains or cables to tie down
your vehicle, the angles shaded in black
must be 45 .
Do not overly tighten the tie downs or
the vehicle may be damaged.
If a tow truck is not available in an em ergency, your vehicle may be temporarily
towed using cables or chains secured to the emergency towing hooks. This
should only be attempted on hard su rfaced roads for at most 50 miles (80 km)
at under 18 mph (30 km/h).
A driver must be in the vehicle to st eer and operate the brakes. The vehicle’s
wheels, drive train, axles, steering an d brakes must be in good condition.Using a flatbed truck

stress on the towing hooks, cables or chai ns. The towing hooks, cables or chains may
become damaged, broken debris may hit people and cause serious damage. ●
Do not turn the engine switch off.
