Maintenance
Charging the AGM Battery
AGM labeled batteries like those installe d in your vehicle require a compatible
charger to be properly charged. Damage to the battery can result if the battery is
charged improperly or with the wrong equipment. For more information on how to
charge your vehicle’s AGM battery, consult a dealer.112-Volt Battery
The vehicle stability assist ® (VSA ®) system, vehicle
stability assist ® (VSA ®) OFF, adaptive cruise control
(ACC), safety support and low tire pressure/TPMS
indicators may come on in amber along with a
message in the driver information interface when you
set the power mode to ON after re-connecting a
battery.
Drive a short distance at more than 12 mph (20
km/h). The indicator should go off. If it does not, have
your vehicle checked by a dealer.
3WARNING
• Use of a battery not designed for this
vehicle could cause a hydrogen gas leak
inside the vehicle, resulting in a fire or
explosion that may cause injury or death.
• Only install a 12V AGM battery designed
for use in this vehicle.
• Contact your Honda dealer for more
information.

Handling the Unexpected
1. Remove the center cap.
2. Place the flat tire face down in the spare tire
well.
3. Remove the spacer cone from the wing
bolt, flip it over, and insert it back on the
bolt. Secure the flat tire with the wing bolt.
4. Securely put the jack and wheel nut wrench
back in the tool case. Store the case in the
trunk.
If you replace a flat tire with the spare tire, the low tire pressure/TPMS indicator
comes on while you are driving. Afte r driving for a few miles (kilometers), Tire
Pressure Monitor System Problem. Ch eck Tire Pressure. See Your Dealer. will
appear on the driver information interface and the indicator will start blinking for a
short time and then stay on; however, this is normal and is no cause for concern.
Calibrate the TPMS when you replace the tire with a specified regular tire.

Handling the Unexpected
If the Electric Power Steeri ng (EPS) System Indicator
Comes On
■Reasons for the indicator to come on
• Comes on when there is a problem with the EPS system.
• If you depress the accelerator pedal repeatedly to increase the engine
speed while the engine is idling, the indicator comes on, and
sometimes the steering wheel becomes harder to operate.
• Comes on when EPS steering angle cent er point memory is lost. This
could be due to a number of problems to include: battery disconnect,
main fuse blow, low battery causin g reset of the EPS system, or wire
damage to the EPS harness. The Vehicle Stability Assist ® (VSA®)
system, Vehicle Stability Assist ® (VSA ®) OFF, Adaptive Cruise Control
(ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF ), safety support and low tire
pressure/TPMS indicators also come on in amber along with a
message in the driver information interface.

Handling the Unexpected
■What to do when th e indicator comes on
• Stop the vehicle in a safe place an d turn on the power system again.
If the indicator comes on and stays on, immediately have your vehicle
inspected by a dealer.
• If the The Vehicl e Stability Assist® (VSA ®) system, Vehicle Stability
Assist ® (VSA ®) OFF, Adaptive Cruise Co ntrol (ACC) with Low Speed
Follow (LSF), safety support and low tire pressure/TPMS indicators also
come on in amber along with a message in the driver information
interface, you need to calibrate the VSA ® and EPS systems.
Drive a short distance at more than 12 mph (20 km/h) to calibrate the
VSA ® and EPS systems.
If the indicators come on and stay on, park your vehicle in a safe
place, turn off and restart the po wer system, then repeat the above
operation.
If the indicators still come on an d stay on, immediately have your
vehicle inspected by a dealer.

uuIndicator, Coming On/Blinking uIf the Low Tire Pressure/TPMS Indicator Comes On or Blinks
Handling the Unexpected
If the Low Tire Pressure/TPMS Indicator Comes On or
Blinks
■Reasons for the indicator to come on or blink
A tire pressure is significantly low, or the TPMS has not been calibrated.
If there is a problem with the TPMS, the indicator blinks for about one
minute, and then stays on.
If the compact spare tire
* is installed, the indicator will either come on or
it will first blink for abou t one minute, then stay on.
■What to do when the indicator comes on
Drive carefully and avoid abrupt cornering and hard braking.
Stop your vehicle in a safe place. Ch eck the tire pressure and adjust the
pressure to the specified level. The sp ecified tire pressure is on a label on
the driver side doorjamb. u Calibrate the TPMS after the tire pressure is adjusted.
2 TPMS Calibration P. 472
If the compact spare tire* causes the indicator to come on, change the
tire to a full-size tire . The indicator goes off af ter calibrating the TPMS.
■What to do when the indicator blinks, then remains on
Have the tire inspected by a dealer as soon as possible. If the compact
spare tire
* causes the indicator to first b link, and then stay on, change
the tire to a full-size tire. The in dicator goes off after calibrating the
TPMS.

NOTICE
Driving on an extremely underinflated tire can cause
it to overheat. An overheated tire can fail. Always
inflate your tires to the prescribed level.
