Maintenance
Reset the maintenance minder information display if you have performed the
maintenance service.
1. Set the power mode to ON.
2. Press the (display/information) button.
3. Press the / button to select the icon, and press the ENTER button.
4. Press and hold the ENTER button for about 10 second s to enter the reset mode.
5. Press / to select a maintenance item to reset, or to select All Due Items
(You can also select Cancel to end the process).
6. Press the ENTER button to reset the selected item.
7. Repeat from step 4 for other items you wish to reset.

NOTICE
Failure to reset the Maintenance MinderTM display
after a maintenance servic e results in the system
showing incorrect maintena nce intervals, which can
lead to serious mechanical problems.
The authorized Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid dealer
will reset the Maintenance Minder
TM display after
completing the required ma intenance service. If
someone other than an authorized Honda Clarity
Plug-In Hybrid dealer perf orms maintenance service,
reset the Maintenance Minder
TM display yourself.
You can also reset the Maintenance Minder
TM display

How to Handle Overheating
Overheating symptoms are as follows:
•The High Temperature. Power Reduced. message appears on the multi-
information display.
• The Stop Driving When Safe. Engine Temperature Too Hot message appears
on the multi-information display.
• Steam or spray comes out of the engine compartment.
The High Temperature. Power Reduced. message appears on the multi-
information display when the powe r system temperature is high.

1.Immediately park the vehicle in a safe place.
u Change the gear position to
(P, and set the parking brake. Turn off all
accessories and turn on the hazard warning lights.
2. Keep the power mode in ON, and wait until the message disappears.
u If the message does not disappear, have the vehicle inspected at an authorized
Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid dealer.

subsides. Then open the hood.

■Next thing to do
1.Check that the cooling fan is operating and
turn the power system off once the Stop
Driving When Safe. Engine
Temperature Too Hot message
disappears.
u If the cooling fan is not operating,
immediately turn the power system off.
2. Once the engine has cooled down, inspect
the coolant level an d check the cooling
system components for leaks.
u If the coolant level in the reserve tank is
low, add coolant until it reaches the
MAX mark.
u If there is no coolan t in the reserve tank,
check that the radiator is cool. Cover the
radiator cap with a heavy cloth and open
the cap. If necessary, add coolant up to
the base of the filler neck, and put the
cap back on.
■Last thing to do
Once the engine has cooled sufficiently, turn the power system on.
If the Stop Driving When Safe. Engine Temperature Too Hot message does not
appear, resume driving. If it appears ag ain, contact an authorized Honda Clarity
Plug-In Hybrid dealer for repairs.

If the coolant is leaking, contact an authorized Honda
Clarity Plug-In Hybrid dealer for repairs.
Use water as an emergency/temporary measure only.
Have an authorized Honda Clarity Plug- In Hybrid
dealer flush the system wi th proper antifreeze as
soon as possible.
3WARNING
Removing the radiator cap while the
engine is hot can cause the coolant to spray
out, seriously scalding you.
Always let the engine and radiator cool
down before removing the radiator cap.
