chapter plus an index. Each chapters

UNLEADED FUEL, as well as mini-
mize exhaust emissions and spark
plug fouling.

only unleaded fuel having an octane
number ((R+M)/2) of 87 (Research
Octane Number 91) or higher. (Do not
use methanol blended fuels.)
5.0 engine
Your new vehicle is designed to use
only unleaded fuel having an octane
number ((R+M)/2) of 87 (Research
Octane Number 91) or higher. For
improved vehicle performance, premi-
um unleaded fuel with an octane
number ((R+M)/2) of 91 (Research
Octane Number 96) or higher is rec-
ommended. (Do not use methanol
blended fuels.)

Edit settings after shifting to P
This warning message illuminates if
you try to select the other User
Settings item except Head-up dis-
play and driving assist items when
driving.
For safety, change the User Settings
after parking the vehicle and moving
the shift lever to P (Park) position.
Quick guide (Help)
If you press and hold the OK button
in the User Settings Mode, explana-
tion about the selected item is dis-
played in the cluster.
Trip Computer Mode
This mode displays driving informa-
tion like the tripmeter, fuel economy,
and so on.

Anti-lock Brake System
(ABS) Warning Light
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the Engine Start/Stop
button to the ON position.
- It illuminates for approximately 3
seconds and then goes off.
When there is a malfunction with
the ABS (The normal braking sys-
tem will still be operational without
the assistance of the anti-lock
brake system).
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized retailer
of Genesis Branded products.
Electronic Brake force
Distribution (EBD)
System Warning Light
These two warning lights illuminate
at the same time while driving:
When the ABS and regular brake
system may not work normally.
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized retailer
of Genesis Branded products. Parking Brake & Brake Fluid
Warning Light
Driving the vehicle with a warn-
ing light ON is dangerous. If the
Parking Brake & Brake Fluid
Warning Light illuminates with
the parking brake released, it
indicates that the brake fluid
level is low.
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized
retailer of Genesis Branded
products.

Electronic Parking
Brake (EPB) Warning
Light (if equipped)
This warning light illuminates:

NOTICE - Electronic Parking
Brake (EPB) Warning Light
The Electronic Parking Brake
(EPB) Warning Light may illumi-
nate when the Electronic Stability
control (ESC) Indicator Light comes
on to indicates that the ESC is not
working properly (This does not
indicate malfunction of the EPB).
Forward Collision-
Avoidance Assist (FCA)
system Warning Light
(if equipped)
This warning light illuminates :
When the FCA system is turned off.
When the radar or its cover is
stained. Remove the stains with a
soft cloth.
When there is a malfunction with
FCA. In this case, have your vehi-
cle inspected by an authorized
retailer of Genesis Branded prod-
ucts.

Master Warning Light
This indicator light illuminates :
When there is a malfunction on the
pre-active seat belt, low washer,
electronic control suspension, or
smart cruise control. To identify the
details of the warning, look at the
LCD display.

Adaptive Front-Lighting System
(AFS) a.k.a. Low Beam Assist-
Dynamic (LBA-D)
Adaptive front-lighting system uses
the steering angle and vehicle
speed, to keep your field of vision
wide by swiveling and leveling the
headlamp.
Change the switch to the AUTO posi-
tion when the engine is running. The
adaptive front-lighting system will
operate when the headlamp is ON.
To turn off the AFS, change the
switch to other positions. After turn-
ing the AFS off, headlamp swiveling
no longer occurs, but leveling oper-
ates continuously.If the AFS malfunction indicator
comes on, the AFS is not working
properly. Drive to the nearest safe
location and restart the engine. If the
indicator continuously remains on,
we recommend that the system be
checked by an authorized retailer of
Genesis Branded products.
Daytime running light (DRL)
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
can make it easier for others to see
the front of your vehicle during the
day, especially after dawn and before
sunset.
The DRL will turn off when:
1. The light switch is not in the AUTO
position.
2. The parking brake is applied.
3. The engine is turned off.
4. The hazard warning flasher is on.
5. You turn the turn signal light on.
- If you turn on the turn signal
light, only the corresponding
daytime running lights will turn
off.
6. The High Beam Assist (HBA) is
turned on with pass function for
warning.

Surround View Monitor (SVM)
system (if equipped)
The Surround View Monitor (SVM)
system can assist in parking by
allowing the driver to see around the
vehicle.Press the SVM button to turn on the
system with the engine running. Re-
press the button again to turn off the
system
Operating conditions
- When the Engine Start/Stop button
is in the ON position
- When the shift lever is on D, N or R
- When the vehicle speed is lower
than 9 mph (15 km/h)

Always keep the camera lens clean.
The camera may not work normally
if the lens is covered with foreign

The SVM system is a supple-
mental system to assist you in
parking. However, the screen
displays an integrated image,
which combines 4 images from
the front/rear/right/left cameras.
Therefore, the actual parking
line locations may differ from
the image displayed on the
screen.
ALWAYS look around your vehi-
cle to make sure there are no
objects or obstacles before
moving the vehicle.
