Flashing the Headlamp High Beam
Slightly pull the lever toward you and
release it to flash the headlamps.
AUTOLAMPS
WARNING: The system does not
relieve you of your responsibility to drive
with due care and attention. You may
need to override the system if it does not
turn the headlamps on in low visibility
conditions, for example daytime fog. When the lighting control is in the
autolamps position, the headlamps turn
on in low light situations, or when the
wipers turn on. The headlamps remain on for a period of
time after you switch the ignition off. Use
the information display controls to adjust
the period of time that the headlamps
remain on.
Note:
If you switch the autolamps on, you
cannot switch the high beams on until the
system turns the low beams on.
Windshield Wiper Activated
Headlamps
When you switch the autolamps on, the
headlamps turn on within 10 seconds of
switching the wipers on. They turn off
approximately 60 seconds after you switch
the windshield wipers off.
The headlamps do not turn on with the
wipers:
• During a single wipe.
• When using the windshield washers.
• If the wipers are in intermittent mode.
Note: If you switch the autolamps and the
autowipers on, the headlamps turn on when
the windshield wipers continuously operate.
INSTRUMENT LIGHTING
DIMMER
Note: When disconnecting the battery or
when it runs out of charge, the illuminated
components turn to the maximum setting.

Overriding the System
Push the lever away from you to switch
between high beam and low beam.
Automatic High Beam Indicator The indicator illuminates to
confirm when the system is
ready to assist.
FRONT FOG LAMPS
(IF EQUIPPED) Press the control to switch the fog lamps
on or off. You can switch the fog lamps on when the
lighting control is in any position except
Off and the high beams are not on.
ADAPTIVE HEADLAMPS
(IF
EQUIPPED)
The headlamp beams move in the same
direction as the steering wheel. This
provides more visibility when driving
around curves.
A. Without adaptive headlamps.
B. With adaptive headlamps. The system only works with the lighting
control in the autolamp position. You can
switch this feature on or off in the
information display.

A
High Beam
It illuminates when you switch
the high beam headlamps on. It
flashes when you use the
headlamp flasher.
Hill Start Assist Indicator Illuminates when the system is
not available.
Hood Ajar Displays when the ignition is on
and the hood is not completely
closed.
Lane Keeping Aid (If Equipped) Illuminates when you activate
the lane keeping system.
Liftgate Ajar Illuminates when the liftgate is
not completely closed.
Low Fuel Level It illuminates when the fuel level
is low or the fuel tank is nearly
empty. Refuel as soon as
possible.
Low Tire Pressure Warning It illuminates when your tire
pressure is low. If the lamp
remains on with the engine
running or when driving, check your tire
pressure as soon as possible. It also illuminates momentarily when you
switch the ignition on to confirm the lamp
is functional. If it does not illuminate when
you switch the ignition on, or begins to
flash at any time, have the system checked
by an authorized dealer.
Low Washer Fluid It illuminates when the
windshield washer fluid is low.
Parking Lamps It illuminates when you switch
the parking lamps on.
Powertrain Fault Illuminates when the system has
detected a powertrain or an
all-wheel drive fault. Contact an
authorized dealer as soon as possible.
Service Engine Soon If it illuminates when the engine
is running this indicates a
malfunction. The On Board
Diagnostics system has detected a
malfunction of the vehicle emission control
system.
If it flashes, engine misfire may be
occurring. Increased exhaust gas
temperatures could damage the catalytic
converter or other vehicle components.
Drive in a moderate fashion (avoid heavy
acceleration and deceleration) and have
your vehicle immediately serviced.
It illuminates when you switch the ignition
on prior to engine start to check the bulb
and to indicate whether your vehicle is
ready for Inspection and Maintenance
(I/M) testing.

Adjusting the Pre-Collision Assist
Settings
The following settings can be adjusted by
using the information display controls. See
Gener
al Information (page 98).
• You can change Alert and Distance
Alert sensitivity to one of three possible
settings.
• You can switch Distance Indication and
Alert on or off.
• If required, you can switch Active
Braking on or off.
• If required, you can switch Evasive
Steering Assist on or off.
Note: Active Braking and Evasive Steering
Assist automatically turn on every time you
switch the ignition on.
Note: If you switch Active Braking off,
Evasive Steering Assist turns off. Blocked Sensors Camera.
1
Radar sensor (if equipped).
2
If a message regarding a blocked sensor
or camera appears in the information
display, the radar signals or camera images
are obstructed. If your vehicle is equipped
with a radar sensor, it is located behind the
fascia cover in the center of the lower grille.
With a blocked sensor or camera, the
Pre-Collision Assist system may not
function or performance may reduce. The
following table lists possible causes and
actions for when this message displays.
Camera Troubleshooting Action
Cause
Clean the outside of the windshield in frontof the camera.
The windshield in front of the camera is
dirty or obstructed in some way.
Wait a short time. It may take several
minutes for the camera to detect that there is no obstruction.
The windshield in front of the camera is
clean but the message remains in the display screen.

2.
Determine the combined
weight of the driver and
passengers that will be riding
in your vehicle.
3. Subtract the combined weight
of the driver and passengers
from XXX kg or XXX lb.
4. The resulting figure equals the
available amount of cargo and
luggage load capacity. For
example, if the “XXX” amount
equals 1,400 lb. and there will
be five 150 lb. passengers in
your vehicle, the amount of
available cargo and luggage
load capacity is 650 lb.
(1400-750 (5 x 150) = 650 lb.)
5. Determine the combined
weight of luggage and cargo
being loaded on the vehicle.
That weight may not safely
exceed the available cargo and
luggage load capacity
calculated in Step 4.
6. If your vehicle will be towing a
trailer, load from your trailer
will be transferred to your
vehicle. Consult this manual to
determine how this reduces the
available cargo and luggage
load capacity of your vehicle. Helpful examples for calculating
the available amount of cargo
and luggage load capacity
Suppose your vehicle has a
1400-pound (635-kilogram) cargo
and luggage capacity. You decide
to go golfing. Is there enough load
capacity to carry you, four of your
friends and all the golf bags? You
and four friends average 220
pounds (99 kilograms) each and
the golf bags weigh approximately
30 pounds (13.5 kilograms) each.
The calculation would be: 1400 -
(5 x 220) - (5 x 30) = 1400 - 1100
- 150 = 150 pounds. Yes, you have
enough load capacity in your
vehicle to transport four friends
and your golf bags. In metric units,
the calculation would be: 635
kilograms - (5 x 99 kilograms) -
(5 x 13.5 kilograms) = 635 - 495 -
67.5 = 72.5 kilograms.
Suppose your vehicle has a
1400-pound (635-kilogram) cargo
and luggage capacity. You and
one of your friends decide to pick
up cement from the local home
improvement store to finish that
patio you have been planning for
the past two years. Measuring the
inside of the vehicle with the rear
seat folded down, you have room
for twelve 100-pound
(45-kilogram) bags of cement. Do
you have enough load capacity to
transport the cement to your
home? If you and your friend each
weigh 220 pounds (99 kilograms),
the calculation would be: 1400 -
(2 x 220) - (12 x 100) = 1400 - 440
