CHILD SAFETY: fitting a child seat (8/8)
X = Seat not suitable for fitting child seats.
U = Seat allowing a child seat with “Universal” approval to be attache\
d by seat belt; check that it can be fitted correctly.
IUF = Seat which allows a forward-facing child seat with “Universal” approval to be attached by the ISOFIX device; check that it can be fitted.
IL = Seat which allows child seats with “Semi-universal” or “Vehicle specific” approval to be attached by the ISOFIX device; chec k
that it can be fitted.
(3) Only a rear-facing child seat can be fitted in this seat: raise the seat\
to the maximum and position it as far back as possible ,
tilting the seatback slightly (approximately 25°).
(4) A carrycot can be installed across the vehicle and will take up at least \
two seats. Position the child with his or her feet nea rest
the door.
(5) Move the front seat as far forward as possible to install a rear-facing \
child seat, then move back the seat in front as far as it will
go, although without allowing it to come into contact with the child sea\
t. Raise the headrest or remove it.
(6) Forward-facing child seat; position the seatback of the child seat in co\
ntact with the seatback of the vehicle seat. Adjust the
height of the headrest or remove it if necessary; do not push the seat in front of the child more than halfway back on its runn ers
and do not recline the seatback more than 25°.

the seat suited to your child and rec-
ommended for your vehicle.

The passenger air bag must
be activated or deactivated
with the ignition off .
If handled when the igni-
tion is on, the warning light

comes on.
Switch the ignition off then on again
to reset the air bag in accordance
with the lock.
With the ignition on, it is essential to
check that the 2
] warning light is
lit up.
This warning light remains continu-
ously lit to let you know that you can
fit a child seat .
Deactivating the front
passenger air bags
(depending on vehicle)
In order to be able to install a rear-
facing child seat on the front passen-
ger seat, you must deactivate the front
passenger seat belt additional restraint
systems.
To deactivate the passenger airbag,
with the ignition off , press and turn
button 1 to the OFF position.

DANGER
Since front passenger
airbag triggering and the
position of a rear-facing
child seat are incompatible, NEVER
use a restraining device for rear-
facing children on a seat with an
ACTIVATED AIRBAG in front of it.
This provides a risk of DEATH or
SERIOUS INJURY to the CHILD.
The markings on the dashboard and
labels A on each side of the passen-
ger sun visor 3 (example: label shown
above) remind you of these instruc-
tions.

Operating faults
It is forbidden to fit a rear-facing child
seat to the front passenger seat if the
air bag activation/deactivation system
is faulty.
Allowing any other passenger to sit in
that seat is not recommended.
Contact your approved dealer as soon
as possible.
Activation of the front
passenger air bag
(depending on vehicle)
You should reactivate the air bag as
soon as you remove the child seat from
the front passenger seat to ensure the
protection of your front passenger in
the event of an impact.
To reactivate the airbag: with the ve-
hicle at a standstill and with the ig-
nition switched off , press and turn
button 1 to the ON position.
With the ignition on, you must check
that the warning light 2
] is off.

™Seat belt reminder light
It is displayed on the con-
sole B.
It stays on when the engine is started if
the driver and/or passenger seat belt is
not fastened. When the vehicle is being
driven, it comes on and a beep sounds
for approximately 2 minutes until the
driver’s seat belt is fastened.

Electronic Stability Program
(ESP) and traction control
system (ASR) activation warning
light
There are several reasons for the warn-
ing light to come on: please refer to the
information on the “Electronic stability
program (ESP) with understeer control
and traction control (ASR)” in Section 2.
2 Door(s) open warning light
Refer to “Opening/closing the doors” in
Section 1.
ECO mode warning light
This comes on when ECO mode is ac-
tivated.
Please refer to the information on
“Driving advice, Eco-driving” in
Section 2.

warning light
This lights up when the ignition is
switched on and goes out after a few
seconds.
If it comes on when driving, it indicates
the presence of water in the diesel.
Contact your approved Dealer as soon
as possible.

Safety of rear occupants
The driver can prevent op-
eration of the rear elec-
tric windows by pressing
switch 4.
Driver’s responsibility
Never leave your vehicle with the
key inside and never leave a child
(or a pet) unsupervised, even for a
short while. They may pose a risk
to themselves or to others by start-
ing the engine, activating equipment
such as the electric windows or by
locking the doors. If a body part
gets trapped, reverse the direction
of travel of the window as soon as
possible by pressing the relevant
switch.

Electric windowsPress the window switch down or lift it
up to lower or raise the window to the
desired height. From the driver’s seat, use switch:
1 for the driver’s side;
2 for the front passenger side;
3 and 5 for the rear passengers.
From the passenger seats, use

a half-open window: there is a risk
that the electric window could be
damaged.
