Preventingtheautomaticparkingbrake
release
Thevehiclecould beginrollingunintentionally
whentheparkingbrakeisreleasedifthevehicle
isonahillortowingatrailer.
>Topreventtheparkingbrakefromreleasingau-
tomatically,pullandholdthe©switchand
presstheacceleratorpedal.Theparkingbrake
remainssetandpreventsthevehiclefromroll-
ingbackward.

Emergencybrakingfunction
Youcanuse theemergencybrakingfunctioninan
emergency

presstheacceleratorpedalinadvertently.
Pressingtheacceleratorpedalwillcausethe
vehicletomove, andthiscouldresultinan
accident.
—Emergencybrakingshouldonlybeusedin
anemergency,whenthewhenthestandard
brakepedalismalfunctioningorobstructed.
Duringemergencybraking,yourvehiclewill
brakesimilartoheavybraking.ESC andthe
associatedcomponents(ABS,ASR,EDL)can-
notovercomethelawsofphysics.Afull
brakeapplicationwhiledrivingthrough
curvesorinpoorroadorweatherconditions
cancausethevehicletoslideortherearof
thevehicletoswerve,whichincreasesthe
riskofanaccident.
—Ifthepowersupplyfails,youcannotsetthe
parkingbrakeonceitisreleased.Inthis
