The driver can use voice commands to control certain functions in the media player, aBluetooth-connected phone, the climate system and the Volvo navigation system *.
Voice commands offer extra convenience and help minimize distractions so drivers can concen-trate on driving and keep their attention on theroad and traffic situation.

Adjusting the rearview mirrordimming function
Bright light entering the vehicle from behind, e.g. from the headlights of following vehicles, couldreflect in the rearview mirror and door mirrorsand cause a glare. Use the dimming functionwhen light from behind is distracting.
Auto-dimIf bright light enters the vehicle from behind, the door mirrors will automatically dim. Auto-dim isalways active when the engine is running, exceptwhen reverse gear is engaged.
NOTE
When the level of sensitivity is changed, this change will not be noticeable immediately butwill instead take effect after a short period oftime.
The sensitivity level for dimming will affect both the rearview mirror and door mirrors. 1. Tap

The rearview mirror instead has two sensors - one pointing forward and one pointing rearward -which work together to identify and eliminate glare. The forward-pointing sensor monitorsambient light, while the rearward-pointing sensormonitors light from the headlights of followingvehicles. For the door mirrors to be equipped with auto- dim, the rearview mirror must also be equippedwith auto-dim.
NOTE
If the sensors are obstructed by e.g. a parking permit, transponder, sunshade or objects onthe seats or in the cargo compartment in away that prevents light from reaching the sen-sors, the auto-dim function in the door andrearview mirrors will be reduced.

Adjusting the door mirrors
To improve visibility to the rear, the door mirrors need to be adjusted to the driver's height andseating position. There are several automaticsettings that can also be connected to the mem- ory function buttons for the power seat *.
Controls used for door mirrors

The joystick in the drivers' door control panel is used to adjust the position of the door mirrors. 1.
Press the L button for the left door mirror or
R for the right door mirror. The button will
light up.
2. Adjust the position using the joystick located between the buttons.
3. Press the L or R button again. The light in
the button will go out.

Power front seats *
The power front seats can be adjusted in a num- ber of different ways for optimal comfort andergonomics. The power seats can be moved for-ward/backward and up/down. The height and length * of the seat cushion and the tilt of the
backrest can be adjusted. Lumbar support can be adjusted up, down, forward and backward.
The power seats have an overload protector that is triggered if a seat is blocked by any object. Ifthis occurs, remove the object and attempt toadjust the seat again. The power seats can be adjusted for a certain period of time after the door is unlocked withoutthe engine running. The seats can always beadjusted while the engine is running. They canalso be adjusted for a short period after theengine is turned off.

Adjusting the power front seats *
Set the desired sitting position using the control on the front seat's seating section. To activatethe multifunction control and set the various con-venience functions, turn the control upward/downward.
To activate the multi-function control and set the various comfort functions, turn the con- trol * upwards/downwards.
Raise/lower the front edge of the seat cush- ion by moving the control up/down.
Raise/lower the seat by moving the control up/down.
Move the seat forward/rearward by moving the control forward/rearward.
Change the backrest tilt by moving the con- trol forward/backward.

Adjusting the rear seat headrestraints
Adjust the center head restraint in the rear seat to the seat occupant's height. Fold down theoutboard head restraints to improve rear visibil-ity.
Adjusting the center head restraint
The center head restraint should be adjusted to suit the passenger's height. The entire back ofthe head should be covered if possible. Manuallymove the restraint up or down as needed.
To lower the restraint, push and hold the button (see illustration) while carefully lowering the headrestraint.
WARNING
The center seat head restraint must be in its lowest position when the seat is not occupied.When the center seat is occupied, the headrestraint must be correctly adjusted to thepassenger's height, covering the entire backof the head if possible.
Electrically folding down the rear seat's outboard head restraints *
The outer head restraints can be folded via the center display's function view. The head restraintcan be folded down when the vehicle is in igni- tion mode 0.

The horn is located in the center of the steering wheel.

Adjusting the steering wheel
The steering wheel can be adjusted to various positions.
The steering wheel's reach and height can be adjusted.
WARNING
Adjust the steering wheel and ensure it locks into position before driving. Never adjust thesteering wheel while driving.
Steering wheel force can be adjusted with speed-dependent power steering. Steering wheelforce is adjusted according to the vehicle's speedto give the driver an enhanced sense of controland stability.
Steering wheel adjuster lever.
1. Move the lever forward to release the steer- ing wheel.
2. Adjust the steering wheel to the desired position.
3. Pull the lever back to lock the steering wheel into place. If the lever is difficult to move, press the steering wheel lightly while pullingthe lever.

Setting a maximum height for the
power tailgate

The tailgate can be set to stop opening at a cer- tain height, for example if the tailgate needs tobe opened in a garage with a low ceiling.
Setting maximum opening height:
1. Open the tailgate to the desired opening height.
NOTE
It is not possible to program an opening posi- tion lower than half-open tailgate.
2.Press the button on the lower edge of
the tailgate and hold for at least 3 seconds.
> Two brief audio signals will sound to indi- cate that the position has been stored.
Resetting to maximum opening position:
–Move the tailgate manually to its highest possible position and press the
button
on the tailgate for at least 3 seconds.
> Two audio signals will sound to indicate that the stored position has been erased. The tailgate can then be opened to itsmaximum position.
NOTE
• If the system has been working continu- ously for a prolonged period of time, it willbe switched off to avoid overload. It canbe used again after approximately2 minutes.

City Safety limitations
City Safety functionality may be reduced in cer- tain situations.
Surroundings
Low objects
Hanging objects, such as flags for overhanging loads or accessories such as auxiliary lights orfront protective grids that extend beyond theheight of the hood, may limit City Safety function-ality.
Slippery road conditions
The extended braking distance on slippery roads may reduce City Safety's capacity to help avoid acollision. In these types of situations, the Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Con- trol (ESC 76
) will help provide optimal braking
power with maintained stability.
Backlighting
The visual warning signal in the windshield may be difficult to detect in bright sunlight, if there arereflections, or if the driver is wearing sunglassesor not looking straight ahead.
Heat
If the temperature in the passenger compartment is high due to e.g. bright sunlight, the visual warn-ing signal in the windshield may be temporarilydisabled.
Camera and radar sensor's field of vision
The camera's field of vision is limited and in cer- tain situations, it may be unable to detect pedes-trians, large animals, cyclists or vehicles, or it maydetect them later than expected. Vehicles that are dirty may be detected later than clean vehicles, and in dark conditions, motorcy-cles may be detected late or not at all. If a text message displayed in the instrument panel indicates that the camera/radar sensor isobstructed, it may be difficult for City Safety todetect pedestrians, large animals, cyclists, vehi-cles or lane markings in front of the vehicle. CitySafety functionality may therefore be reduced. Text messages may not be displayed for all situa- tions in which the windshield sensors areblocked. The driver must therefore always keepthe windshield in front of the camera/radar sen-sor clean.
CAUTION
Maintenance and replacement of City Safety components may only be performed by aworkshop – an authorized Volvo workshop isrecommended.
Driver intervention
Backing up
City Safety is temporarily deactivated when the vehicle is backing up.
Low speed
City Safety is not activated at very low speeds under 4 km/h (3 mph). The system will thereforenot intervene in situations in which your vehicle isapproaching another vehicle very slowly, such aswhen parking.
Active driver
Action by the driver always has priority. City Safety will therefore not react or will react at alater stage with a warning or intervention in situa-tions in which the driver is clearly steering andoperating the accelerator pedal, even if a collisionis unavoidable. An active and aware driving style may therefore delay collision warnings and intervention in order to minimize unnecessary warnings.

Leveling control * and suspension
The vehicle's leveling control system adjusts the suspension and shock absorbers automaticallyto help provide good comfort and control whiledriving. Leveling can also be controlled manuallyto facilitate loading or getting in and out of thevehicle.
Pneumatic suspension and shock absorbers
The system is adapted to the selected drive mode and vehicle speed. The pneumatic suspen-sion reduces the vehicle's ground clearance athigher speeds to reduce air resistance andincrease stability. The shock absorbers are nor-mally set to provide the best possible comfort and are adjusted continuously according to theroad surface and the vehicle's acceleration, brak-ing and cornering.
The instrument panel indicateswhen the suspension level isbeing adjusted.The level cannot be adjusted when any of the side doors or the tailgate is open.
ParkingWhen parking, make sure that there is adequatespace above and below the vehicle since ground clearance may vary depending on e.g. ambienttemperature, how the vehicle is loaded, if loadingmode is used, which drive mode is selected afterthe engine is started, etc. The level may also be adjusted a period after the vehicle is parked. This is to compensate for anyheight changes that may occur due to tempera-ture changes in the air springs when the vehiclecools.
TransportingWhen transporting the vehicle on a ferry, train ortruck, only secure (lash) the vehicle around thetires, not using any other parts of the chassis.Changes in the pneumatic suspension may occurduring transport, which could adversely affect thelashing and result in damage.
