Wind blocker
The panoramic roof is equipped with a wind blocker that folds up when the roof is open.

Operating the panoramic roof
The panoramic roof and sun curtain are oper- ated using a control in the ceiling panel, andboth are equipped with pinch protection. The control in the right rear door can also be used for operation.

CAUTION

To operate the panoramic roof and sun curtain, the ignition must be in mode
I or II.
It can also be operated using keyless opening *
with the door handle.
WARNING
Make sure that no child or other passenger comes into contact with the windows as they are closing with keyless closing *.
CAUTION
Check that the panoramic roof is properly closed when closing.
The movement of the roof will stop if the control is released during manual operation or when theglass has reached the fully open/closed position.The movement of both the panoramic roof andthe sun curtain is also stopped if the control inthe ceiling is operated again in the directionopposite that of the current direction of move-ment. Movement will also stop if the control in theright rear door is moved again in any direction. The panoramic roof and sun curtain are alsoequipped with pinch protection.
NOTE
For manual opening, the sun curtain must be completely open before the panoramic roofcan be opened. For the reverse procedure,the panoramic roof must be completelyclosed before the sun curtain can be com-pletely closed.
Opening and closing ventilation position
Ventilation position, rear edge raised.
Open by pushing the control upward once.
Close by pushing the control downward once.
When ventilation mode is selected, the rear edgeof the front section of the roof is raised. If the suncurtain is fully closed when ventilation position isselected, it will automatically open approx. 50 mm(approx. 2 inches). If the panoramic roof is closed from the ventila- tion position, the sun curtain will also automati-cally close.
NOTE
If the roof is closed using the control in the right rear door, the sun curtain must beclosed separately.

Continuous wipersMove the lever upward for the wipers to operate at normal speed.
Move the lever upward again for the wip- ers to operate at high speed.
CAUTION
Before activating the wipers, make sure that the wiper blades are not frozen in place andthat any snow or ice on the windshield hasbeen scraped away.
CAUTION
Use plenty of washer fluid when the wipers clean the windshield. The windshield must bewet when the windshield wipers are working.

Using the rain sensor The rain sensor monitors the amount of water on the windshield and automatically starts the wind-shield wipers. Rain sensor sensitivity can beadjusted using the thumb wheel on the right-hand steering wheel lever.

Activate the rain sensor by pressing the rain sen- sor button

If the lever is pressed down, the wipers will make additional sweeps across the windshield. Turn the thumb wheel upward for increased sen- sitivity and downward for decreased sensitivity.The wipers will make one extra sweep when thethumb wheel is turned upward.
Deactivate the rain sensor
Deactivate the rain sensor by pressing the rain sensor button or moving the lever upward to another wiper mode. The rain sensor is automatically deactivated in ignition mode 0 or when the engine is switched
off. The rain sensor is also automatically deactivated when the wiper blades are put in the serviceposition. The rain sensor will reactivate whenservice mode is switched off.
CAUTION
The windshield wipers may start inadvertently and be damaged in automatic car washes.Deactivate the rain sensor when the engine is running or when the ignition is in mode I or II.
The symbol in the instrument panel will go out.

Using stored memory in a poweredfront seat
The memory function can be used to store the settings for the seat, door mirrors and head-up display *.
Using a stored positionA stored position can be used with the front door open or closed:
Front door open
–Briefly press one of the memory buttons ( 1
or 2). The seat, door mirrors and head-up
display will move and stop at the positions stored in that button.
Front door closed
–Press and hold one of the memory buttons ( 1 or 2) until the seat, door mirrors and
head-up display stop in the positions stored in that memory button.
If the memory button is released, the seat, doormirrors and head-up display will stop moving.
WARNING
• Because the front seats can be adjusted with the ignition off, children should neverbe left unattended in the vehicle.
• Movement of the seat can be STOPPEDat any time by pressing any button on thepower seat control panel.
• Do not adjust the seat while driving.
• The seat should be adjusted so that thebrake pedal can be depressed fully. Inaddition, position the seat as far rearwardas comfort and control allow.
• The seat rails on the floor must not beobstructed in any way when the seat is inmotion.

Lock button with indicator light in rear door.
Illuminated indicator lights in each door indicate that that particular door is locked. If any door isunlocked and opened, the indicator light in thatdoor will go out. The lights in the other doors willremain illuminated.

Remote key
The remote key is used to lock and unlock doors, the trunk lid and the fuel filler door. Theremote key must be in the vehicle in order tostart the engine.

The remote key is not physically used to start the ignition because the vehicle is standard-equippedwith keyless start (Passive Start). To start thevehicle, the key must be in the front section ofthe passenger compartment, e.g. in the driver'spocket or in a cup holder in the tunnel console.

Activating and deactivating childsafety locks
Child safety locks help prevent children from opening the rear doors from inside the vehicle. There is an electric safety lock * and a manual
safety lock.
Activating and deactivating electric child safety locks *
The electric child safety lock can be activated and deactivated in any ignition mode higher than 0. The lock can be activated and deactivated up
to 2 minutes after the engine is turned off if no door has been opened.

Rear child lock Activatedwill be shown in the instrument panel and the indicator light will illuminate to showthat the child safety locks are activated.
When the electric child safety locks are activated:
• the rear windows can only be opened usingthe driver's door control panel
• the rear doors cannot be opened from theinside.
The buttons on the right-side rear door will alsobe deactivated. To deactivate the child safety locks:
–Press the button on the driver's door control panel. > The message

Deactivated will be shown in the instru-
ment panel and the indicator light will go out to show that the child safety locks aredeactivated.
When the engine is turned off, the current settingwill be saved. If the locks were activated whenthe engine was turned off, they will remain acti-vated the next time the engine is started.

Do not keep your foot under the vehicle in a kick- ing motion. This may prevent activation.
Interrupting foot movement operation
–Make
one slow forward kicking motion while
the trunk lid is opening/closing to stop its movement.
> The trunk lid will stop closing and return to its fully open position. The trunk lid can then be opened or closed manually.
The remote key does not need to be within rangeof the vehicle to interrupt closing.
NOTE
There is a risk of reduced or lost function if there are large amounts of snow, ice, dirt, etc.on the rear bumper. Make sure to keep thebumper clean.

Please note that the system could be inadver- tently activated in a car wash or similar if theremote key is within range.

Private Locking The trunk lid and rear seats can be locked using the private locking function, e.g. when the vehi-cle is left at a workshop or with a valet. The func-tion prevents the trunk lid from being opened,locks the rear seat in the upright position, andprevents the rear seat from being lowered.

Activating and deactivating privatelocking
Private locking is activated using the function button in the center display and a PIN code.
NOTE
For the valet lock function to be activated the car must be in at least ignition mode I.
Entering security code before initial useThe first time the function is used, a security code must be selected. This code can then beused to deactivate private locking if the selectedPIN code has been lost or forgotten. The securitycode functions as a PUK (security) code for allPIN codes used for private locking. Save the security code in a safe place.To create a security code:
