●Distance (driving range/after start)*1
Displays the estimated maximum distance that can be driven with the
quantity of fuel remaining and the distance driven after the engine was
started, respectively
• This distance is computed based on your average fuel consumption. As a result, the actual distance that can be driven may differ from that dis-
played.
• When only a small amount of fuel is added to the tank, the display may not be updated.
When refueling, turn the engine switch off. If the vehicle is refueled with-
out turning the engine switch off, the display may not be updated.

with a decrease in the driver’s attention level, and displays the decrease in
attention using a bar display.
The shorter the bar length, the more the driver may need to rest.
This display is a part of the LDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering con-
trol). The display is enabled when the operating conditions of the vehicle
sway warning are met. ( →P. 226)

mended:
●For the first 186 miles (300 km):
Avoid sudden stops.
● For the first 621 miles (1000 km):
• Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
• Avoid sudden acceleration.
• Do not drive continuously in low gears.
• Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods.
■ Operating your vehicle in a foreign country
Comply with the relevant vehicle registration laws and confirm the availability
of the correct fuel. ( →P. 452)

*1: To improve fuel efficiency and reduce noises, set the shift lever in D fornormal driving.
*2: Selecting gear step using the M position achieves suitable engine brakingforces by operating the shift lever.
→P. 251
To enter 7-speed sport sequential sh iftmatic mode, shift the shift lever
to M position. Gear steps can t hen be selected by operating the shift
lever, allowing you to drive in the gear step of your choosing.

Downshifting
The gear changes once every time
the shift lever is operated.
The selected gear step, from M1 to
M7, will be displayed in the meter.
However, even when in the M position, the gear steps will be auto-
matically changed if the engine s peed is too high, or too low.

■Daytime running light system
●To make your vehicle more visible to other drivers during daytime driving,
the daytime running lights turn on automatically whenever the engine is
started and the parking brake is released with the headlight switch in the
/ / position. (Illuminate brighter than the parking lights.)
Daytime running lights are not designed for use at night.
For the U.S.A.: Daytime running lights can be turned off by operating the
switch.
● Compared to turning on the headlights, the daytime running light system
offers greater durability and consumes less electricity, so it can help improve
fuel economy.
■ Headlight control sensor
■ Automatic light off system
Vehicles without a smart key system
● When the headlights are on: The headlights and tail lights turn off 30 sec-
onds after the engine switch is turned to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position and a
door is opened and closed. (The lights turn off immediately if on the
key is pressed after all the doors are locked.)
● When only the tail lights are on: The tail lights turn off automatically if the
engine switch is turned to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position and the driver’s
door is opened.
To turn the lights on again, turn the engine switch to “ON” position, or turn the
light switch to or once and then back to or .
If any of the doors is kept open, the lights automatically turn off after 20 min-
utes. The sensor may not function properly if an
object is placed on the sensor, or anything
that blocks the sensor is affixed to the
windshield.
Doing so interferes with the sensor
detecting the level of ambient light and
may cause the automatic headlight sys-
tem to malfunction.
