Power Outlets
Passenger Compartment Power Outlet
The cigar lighter and the power outlet are located in the
center console. It only operates with the ignition key at
MAR/ON.
Load Compartment Power Outlet — If Equipped
The Load Compartment Power Outlet is located in rear
cargo compartment. The outlet can be is used for powering
12 Volt adaptive accessories and recharging communica-
tions devices.NOTE:
Do not connect devices with power higher than 180
W to the socket. Do not damage the socket by using
unsuitable adaptors.

— Electric Power Steering Fail Warning Light
This light will turn on when there’s a fault with the EPS
(Electric Power Steering).
— Battery Charge Warning Light
This light illuminates when the battery is not charging
properly. If it stays on while the engine is running, there
may be a malfunction with the charging system. Contact
your authorized dealer as soon as possible.
This indicates a possible problem with the electrical system
or a related component.
— Door Open Warning Light
This indicator will illuminate when one or more door(s) are
not fully closed.
NOTE:If the vehicle is moving and a door is opened, there
will also be a single chime.
— Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Warning
Light
This light informs you of a problem with the Electronic
Throttle Control (ETC) system. If a problem is detected
while the vehicle is running, the light will either stay on or
flash depending on the nature of the problem. Cycle the ignition when the vehicle is safely and completely stopped
and the transmission is placed in the PARK position. The
light should turn off. If the light remains on with the
vehicle running, your vehicle will usually be drivable;
however, see an authorized dealer for service as soon as
possible.
If the light continues to flash when the vehicle is running,
immediate service is required and you may experience
reduced performance, an elevated/rough idle, or engine
stall and your vehicle may require towing. The light will
come on when the ignition is placed in the ON/RUN or
MAR/ON/RUN position and remain on briefly as a bulb
check. If the light does not come on during starting, have
the system checked by an authorized dealer.
— Transmission Fault Warning Light
This light will illuminate (together with a message in the
instrument cluster display and a buzzer) to indicate a
transmission fault. Contact your authorized dealer if the
message remains after restarting the engine. For vehicles

Jump Starting Procedure
WARNING!
Failure to follow this jump starting procedure could
result in personal injury or property damage due to
battery explosion.
CAUTION!
Failure to follow these procedures could result in
damage to the charging system of the booster vehicle
or the discharged vehicle.
Connecting The Jumper Cables
1. Connect the positive (+)end of the jumper cable to the
remote positive (+)post of the discharged vehicle.
NOTE: The remote positive (+)post is located in the
engine compartment on the driver’s side under the cover of
the Front Power Distribution Center.
2. Connect the opposite end of the positive (+)jumper
cable to the positive (+)post of the booster battery.
3. Connect the negative end (-)of the jumper cable to the
negative (-)post of the booster battery. 4. Connect the opposite end of the negative
(-)jumper
cable to the remote negative (-)post of the discharged
vehicle.
NOTE: The remote negative (-)post is located in the front
of the engine compartment on the driver’s side.
WARNING!
Do not connect the jumper cable to the negative (-) post
of the discharged battery. The resulting electrical spark
could cause the battery to explode and could result in
personal injury. Only use the specific ground point, do
not use any other exposed metal parts.
5. Start the engine in the vehicle that has the booster battery. Let the engine idle a few minutes and then start
the engine in the vehicle with the discharged battery.
6. Once the engine is started, disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse sequence:
Disconnecting The Jumper Cables
1. Disconnect the negative end (-)of the jumper cable from
the remote negative (-)post of the vehicle with the
discharged battery.

2. Disconnect the opposite end of the negative(-)jumper
cable from the negative (-)post of the booster battery.
3. Disconnect the positive end (+)of the jumper cable from
the positive (+)post of the booster battery.
4. Disconnect the opposite end of the positive (+)jumper
cable from the remote positive (+)post of the discharged
vehicle.
5. Close the cover of the Front Power Distribution Center.
If frequent jump starting is required to start your vehicle
you should have the battery and charging system in-
spected at your authorized dealer.
CAUTION!
Accessories plugged into the vehicle power outlets
draw power from the vehicle’s battery, even when not
in use (i.e., cellular devices, etc.). Eventually, if plugged
in long enough without engine operation, the vehicle’s
battery will discharge sufficiently to degrade battery
life and/or prevent the engine from starting.
Battery Location
There are two remote jump starting posts under the hood
which is the recommended jump start location. If access to
the battery is needed, an access panel on the driver ’s side
floor will allow for battery access.

iPod control supports Mini, 4G, Photo, Nano, 5G iPod and
iPhone devices. Some iPod software versions may not fully
support the iPod control features. Please visit Apple’s
website for software updates.
For further information, refer to the Uconnect Owner ’s
Manual Supplement.
USB Charging Port
The USB connector port can be used for charging purposes
only. Use the connection cable to connect an iPod or
external USB device to the vehicle’s USB charging port
which is located next to the 12V power outlet near the cup
holder on passenger side.
NOTE:If the device battery to be charged is completely
depleted, it may take awhile to charge.
