Lifting the vehicle improperly can
cause serious injuries and
damage to the vehicle.
The vehicle should be lifted only by well-trained staff at an
authorised workshop.

Ramps may be needed under the
front tyres to provide the necessary
clearance for certain lifting platforms
in this location.
Vehicle storage Storage for a long period of timeIf the vehicle is to be stored for several months:
● Wash and wax the vehicle.
● Have the wax in the engine compartment and underbody
checked.
● Clean and preserve the rubber seals.
● Drain the washer fluid reservoir.
● Check the coolant antifreeze and
corrosion protection.
● Adjust tyre pressure to the value specified for full load.
● Park the vehicle in a dry, well ventilated place. Engage P.
Prevent the vehicle from rolling.
● Do not apply the parking brake.
● Open the bonnet, close all doors and lock the vehicle.Up to four weeks
Plug in the charge cord.Four weeks to twelve months ● Discharge the high voltage battery until two or three bars
remain on the battery range

Fill with clean water mixed with a
suitable quantity of approved
windscreen washer fluid which
contains antifreeze.
When adding windscreen washer
fluid to the vehicle, be sure to read the
manufacturer's instructions before
use.
Caution
Only washer fluid with a sufficient
antifreeze concentration provides
protection at low temperatures or
a sudden drop in temperature.
● When using concentrated washer fluid, follow the
manufacturer's instructions for
adding water.
● Do not mix water with ready-to- use washer fluid. Water can
cause the solution to freeze and
damage the washer fluid tank
and other parts of the washer
system.
● Fill the washer fluid tank only three quarters full when it is verycold. This allows for fluid
expansion if freezing occurs,
which could damage the tank if it
is completely full.
● Do not use engine coolant (antifreeze) in the windscreen
washer. It can damage the
windscreen washer system and
paint.

Brakes In the event of minimum thickness ofthe brake lining, a squealing noise
sounds during braking.Continued driving is possible but
have the brake lining replaced as
soon as possible.
Once new brake linings are installed,
do not brake unnecessarily hard for
the first few journeys.
Brake fluid9 Warning
Brake fluid is poisonous and
corrosive. Avoid contact with eyes,
skin, fabrics and painted surfaces.

216Vehicle careWhen the vehicle has not been
running for at least 1 minute, the
maximum fluid level is at the top of the reservoir body. When the vehicle is
running, the brake fluid level must be
between the MIN and MAX marks.
If the brake fluid level is below MIN
seek the assistance of a workshop.
After work is done on the brake
hydraulic system, make sure the fluid
level is in the proper operating range
between the MIN and MAX marks
when the vehicle is running. Only use high-performance brake fluid
approved for the vehicle. Consult a
workshop.

Vehicle battery9 Danger
Only a trained service technician
with the proper knowledge and
tools may inspect, test or replace
the high voltage battery.
Seek the assistance of a
workshop if the high voltage
battery needs service.
This vehicle has a high voltage
battery and a 12 V vehicle battery.
If the vehicle is involved in a crash, the
sensing system may shut down the
high voltage system. If this occurs,
the high voltage battery will be
disconnected and the vehicle will not
start.
A service message will be displayed
in the Driver Information Centre.
Before the vehicle can be operated
again, it must be serviced at a
workshop.
Airbag system 3 45.
A vehicle cover, which can reduce
sun loading on the vehicle and
improve high voltage battery life, is
available from your Opel Ampera-e
Service Partner.
The Opel Ampera-e authorised
repairer has information on how to recycle the high voltage battery.
Keep the vehicle plugged in, even
when fully charged, to keep the high
voltage battery temperature ready for
the next drive. This is important when
outside temperatures are extremely
hot or cold.
Refer to the replacement number
shown on the original 12 V vehicle
battery label if a new 12 V vehicle
battery is required. The vehicle has
an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) 12 V
vehicle battery.
Installation of a standard 12 V vehicle battery will result in reduced 12 V
vehicle battery life. When using a 12 V battery charger on the AGM12 V vehicle battery, note that somechargers have an AGM battery
setting on the charger. If available,
use the AGM setting on the charger
to limit charge voltage to 14.8 V.
Follow the charger manufacturer's
instructions.

1.Tilt the wheel and remove screws
on the outside of the wheel house.
Therefor, use the screwdriver
provided with the vehicle tools.
2. Detach the respective wheel house panel partially.
3. Rotate the bulb holder anticlockwise to disengage and
pull it out.
4. Pull the old bulb straight out of the
holder and replace it with a new
one.
5. Insert the lamp holder back into the turn signal light housing and
rotate it clockwise.
6. Reinstall the wheel house panel with screws.
Tail lights Tail light assembly in the rear
bumper
The tail light assembly is located in
the rear bumper. The bulbs are
accessible from the underside of the
vehicle.
● (1) Rear fog light (driver side) / reversing light (passenger side)
● (2) Turn signal light
● (3) Tail / brake light 1. Turn the bulb holder anticlockwise
and remove it from the reflector.
2. Pull the bulb out of the bulb holder.
3. Replace bulb.
4. Insert the bulb holder into the reflector and rotate clockwise.
In case of failure, have LEDs replaced by a workshop.
Tail light assembly in the tailgate The lights of the tail light assembly in
the tailgate are LEDs and have to be
replaced by a workshop.
Side turn signal lights Have bulbs replaced by a workshop.

three people.
● Eco for Eco pressure up to three
people.
● Max for full loading.
Auto learn function Each tyre pressure sensor has a
unique identification code. The
identification code must be matched
to a new wheel position after rotating
the wheels or exchanging the
complete wheel set and if one or more tyre pressure sensors were replaced.
After changing wheels, the vehicle
must be stationary for approx.
20 minutes before the system
recalculates. The following relearn
process takes up to 10 minutes of
driving with a minimum speed of
20 km/h. In this event, w can be
displayed or pressure values can
swap in the Driver Information Centre.
If problems occur during the relearn
process, a warning message will be
displayed in the Driver Information
Centre.Tread depth
Check tread depth at regular
intervals.
Tyres should be replaced for safety
reasons at a tread depth of 2-3 mm
(4 mm for winter tyres).
For safety reasons it is recommended
that the tread depth of the tyres on
one axle should not vary by more than 2 mm.
The legally permissible minimum
tread depth (1.6 mm) has been
reached when the tread has worn
down as far as one of the tread wear
indicators (TWI). Their position is
indicated by markings on the
sidewall.
If there is more wear at the front than
the rear, swap round front wheels and rear wheels periodically. Ensure that
the direction of rotation of the wheels
remains the same.
Tyres age, even if they are not used.
We recommend tyre replacement
every six years.
Changing tyre and wheel size
If tyres of a different size than those
fitted at the factory are used, vehicle
performance, including braking, ride
and handling characteristics, stability
and resistance to rollover may be
affected. If the vehicle has electronic
systems such as antilock brakes,
rollover airbags, traction control,
electronic stability control, the
performance of these systems can
also be affected. It may be necessary
to reprogramme the speedometer as
well as the nominal tyre pressure and
make other vehicle modifications.

Tyre pressure monitoring system 3 233.9 Warning
The use of unsuitable tyres or
wheels may lead to accidents and will invalidate the vehicle
operating permit.
Wheel covers
Wheel covers and tyres that are
factory approved for the respective
vehicle and comply with all of the
relevant wheel and tyre combination
requirements must be used.
If the wheel covers and tyres used are
not factory approved, the tyres must
not have a rim protection ridge.
Wheel covers must not impair brake
cooling.
9 Warning
Use of unsuitable tyres or wheel
covers could lead to sudden
pressure loss and thereby
accidents.
Tyre chains
Tyre chains are only permitted on the
front wheels.
Always use fine mesh chains that add no more than 10 mm to the tyre tread
and the inboard sides (including chain lock).

Damage may lead to tyre blowout.
Tyre chains used on a vehicle without
the proper amount of clearance can
cause damage to the brakes,
suspension, or other vehicle parts.
The area damaged by the tyre chains could cause loss of control and a
crash. Use another type of traction
device only if its manufacturer
recommends it for the vehicle's tyre size combination and road conditions.
Follow that manufacturer's
instructions. To avoid vehicle
damage, drive slowly and readjust or
remove the traction device if it
contacts the vehicle. Do not spin the
wheels. If traction devices are used,
install them on the front tyres.
On tyres of size 205/55 R16 and 215/50 R17 only use special snow
chains which are permitted for Opel
Ampera-e and tyres of these sizes. For further information contact a
workshop.

238Vehicle care● Use a booster vehicle batterywith the same voltage (12 V). Itscapacity (Ah) must not be muchless than that of the discharged
12 V vehicle battery.
● Use jump leads with insulated terminals and a cross section of
at least 16 mm 2
.
● Do not disconnect the discharged
12 V vehicle battery from the
vehicle.
● Switch off all unnecessary electrical consumers.
● Do not lean over the 12 V vehicle
battery during jump starting.
● Do not allow the terminals of one
lead to touch those of the other
lead.
● The vehicles must not come into contact with each other during
the jump starting process.
● Apply the parking brake, shift selector lever into P.
● Open the positive terminal protection cap of both batteries.Battery terminals in the engine
compartment
The battery terminals to jump start the
vehicle are located in the engine
compartment.
The positive battery terminal is
located below a cover. Open the
cover before jump starting the
vehicle.
The negative battery terminal is stud
on a bracket located near the charger
modules.
Jump starting the vehicle
Lead connection order:
1. Connect the red lead to the positive terminal of the booster
vehicle battery.
2. Connect the other end of the red lead to the positive terminal of
your vehicle.
3. Connect the black lead to the negative terminal of the booster
vehicle battery.
4. Connect the other end of the black
lead to the negative battery
terminal (stud).
