INDICATOR LIGHTS
This vehicle has various indicator lights
that may illuminate to indicate a system
status. For additional information, refer to
the specific light in this section.
Automatic Transmissionposition indicator light (A/T
models only)
When the ignition switch is in the ON posi-
tion, this indicator light shows the shif t le-
ver position. For additional information, re-
fer to “Driving the vehicle” in the “Starting
and driving” section of this manual.
CRUISE indicator light (if soequipped)
The light comes on when the CRUISE
ON/OFF switch is pushed. The light goes
out when the CRUISE ON/OFF switch is
pushed again. When the CRUISE indicator
light comes on, the cruise control system is
operational.
For additional information, refer to “Cruise
control” in the “Starting and driving” section
of this manual.
Front fog light indicatorlight (if so equipped)
The front fog light indicator light illumi-
nates when the front fog lights are on. For
additional information, refer to “Front fog
lights” in this section.
Front passenger air bagstatus light
The front passenger air bag status
light
will be lit and the passenger front
air bag will be off depending on how the
front passenger seat is being used.
For additional information, refer to “Front
passenger air bag and status light” in the
“Safety — Seats, seat belts and supplemen-
tal restraint system” section of this manual.
High beam indicator light
(blue)
This blue light comes on when the head-
light high beams are on and goes out when
the low beams are selected.
The high beam indicator light also comes
on when the passing signal is activated.
Malfunction Indicator Light(MIL)
If this indicator light comes on steady or
blinks while the engine is running, it may
indicate a potential emission control mal-
function.
The
may also come on steady if the
fuel-filler cap is loose or missing or if the
vehicle runs out of fuel. Check to make sure
the fuel-filler cap is installed and closed
tightly and that the vehicle has at least 3 gal
(11.4 L) of fuel in the fuel tank.
Af ter a few driving trips, the
light
should turn off if no other potential emis-
sion control system malfunction exists.
If this indicator light comes on steady for
20 seconds and then blinks for 10 seconds
when the engine is not running, it indicates
that the vehicle is not ready for an emission
control system inspection/maintenance

test. For additional information, refer to
“Readiness for Inspection/Maintenance
(I/M) test” in the “Technical and consumer
information” section of this manual.
Operation
The MIL will come on in one of two ways:∙ MIL on steady — An emission control system malfunction has been de-
tected. Check the fuel-filler cap if the
LOOSE FUEL CAP warning appears in
the trip computer. If the fuel-filler cap is
loose or missing, tighten or install the
cap and continue to drive the vehicle.
The
light should turn off af ter a
few driving trips. If the
light does
not turn off af ter a few driving trips, have
the vehicle inspected. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer
for this service. You do not need to have
your vehicle towed to the dealer.
∙ MIL blinking — An engine misfire has been detected which may damage the
emission control system. To reduce or
avoid emission control system dam-
age:
– do not drive at speeds above 45 mph (72 km/h). – avoid hard acceleration or decelera-
tion.
– avoid steep uphill grades.
– if possible, reduce the amount of cargo being hauled or towed.
The MIL may stop blinking and come on
steady. Have the vehicle inspected. It is rec-
ommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer
for this service. You do not need to have
your vehicle towed to the dealer.
CAUTION
Continued vehicle operation without
having the emission control system
checked and repaired as necessary
could lead to poor driveability, reduced
fuel economy, and possible damage to
the emission control system.
Overdrive OFF indicator light (A/T models only)
This light comes on when the overdrive
function is OFF.
The automatic transmission overdrive
function is controlled by the overdrive
switch. For additional information, refer to “Driving
the vehicle” in the “Starting and driving” sec-
tion of this manual.
Security indicator light
This light blinks when the ignition switch is
placed in the OFF, LOCK or ACC position.
The blinking security indicator light indi-
cates that the security systems equipped
on the vehicle are operational.
For additional information, refer to “Security
systems” in this section.
Slip indicator light
This indicator will blink when the Vehicle
Dynamic Control (VDC) system is operat-
ing, thus alerting that the vehicle is nearing
its traction limits. The road surface may be
slippery.
Turn signal/hazard
indicator lights
The appropriate light flashes when the turn
signal switch is activated.
Both lights flash when the hazard switch is
turned on.

Adjust the air flow direction of the vents by
opening, closing or rotating.

WARNING
Do not connect, disconnect or operate
the USB device while driving. Doing so
can be a distraction. If distracted you
could lose control of your vehicle and
cause an accident or serious injury.
CAUTION
∙ Do not force the USB device into theUSB port. Inserting the USB device
tilted or up-side-down into the port
may damage the port. Make sure that
the USB device is connected correctly
into the USB port.
∙ Do not grab the USB port cover (if so equipped) when pulling the USB de-
vice out of the port. This could dam-
age the port and the cover.
∙ Do not leave the USB cable in a place where it can be pulled unintentionally.
Pulling the cable may damage the
port. The vehicle is not equipped with a USB de-
vice. USB devices should be purchased
separately as necessary.
This system cannot be used to format USB
devices. To format a USB device, use a per-
sonal computer.
In some jurisdictions, the USB device for the
front seats plays only sound without im-
ages for regulatory reasons, even when the
vehicle is parked.
This system supports various USB
memory devices, USB hard drives and
iPod® players. Some USB devices may not
be supported by this system.
∙ Partitioned USB devices may not play correctly.
∙ Some characters used in other lan- guages (Chinese, Japanese, etc.) may
not appear properly in the display. Using
English language characters with a USB
device is recommended.
General notes for USB use: ∙ For additional information, refer to your device manufacturer’s owner informa-
tion regarding the proper use and care

∙Some characters used in other languages

recommend using English or Spanish lan-
guage characters with an iPod®.

∙ Be careful not to do the following, or the cable could be damaged and a loss of
function may occur:
∙ Bend the cable excessively (40 mm [1.6 in] radius maximum).
∙ Twist the cable excessively (more than 180 degrees).
∙ Pull or drop the cable.
∙ Do not force the iPod® cable connec- tor into the device port.
∙ Close the center console lid on the cable or connectors.
∙ Store objects with sharp edges in the storage where the cable is stored.
∙
Spill liquids on the cable and connec-
tors.
∙ Do not connect the cable to the iPod® if the cable and/or connectors are wet. It
may damage the iPod®.
∙ If the cable and connectors are ex- posed to water, allow the cable and/or
connectors to dry completely before
connecting the cable to the iPod® (wait
24 hours for it to dry).
∙ If the connector is exposed to fluids other than water, evaporative residue
may cause a short between the con-
nector pins. In this case, replace the
cable, otherwise damage to the iPod®
and a loss of function may occur.
∙
If the cable is damaged (insulation cut,
connectors cracked, contamination
such as liquids, dust, dirt, etc., in the con-
nectors), do not use the cable and con-
tact a NISSAN dealer to replace the cable
with a new one.
∙ When not in use for extended periods of time, store the cable in a clean, dust-
free environment at room temperature
and without direct sun exposure.
∙ Do not use the cable for any other pur- poses other than its intended use in the
vehicle.

Audio main operation
VOL (volume) control knob
/(power) button
Place the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position, then press the
button. If you listen to the radio with the engine not
running, place the ignition in the ACC posi-
tion. The mode (radio or CD) that was play-
ing immediately before the system was
turned off resumes playing.
When a CD is loaded, the radio comes on.
Pressing thebutton again turns the
system off. Turn the VOL (volume) control knob to the
right to increase volume or to the lef t to
decrease volume.
MENU button
Audio Bass Adjusts the bass to the desired level.
Treble Adjusts the treble to the desired level.
Balance Adjusts the balance to the desired level. Balance adjusts the sound level between the lef t and right speakers.
Fade Adjusts the fade to the desired level. Fade adjusts the sound level between the front and rear speakers.
Spd Sen Vol. Adjusts the speed sensitive volume function, which increases the volume of the audio system as the speed of the vehicle
increases. Set to “OFF” to disable the feature. The higher the setting, the more the volume increases in relation to vehicle
speed.
AUX IN Volume Choose a setting from 0 to +3 to control the boost of incoming auxiliary device volume. A setting of 0 provides no additional
boost in volume. A setting of +3 provides the greatest boost in volume.
Clock Select “ON” or “OFF” to control whether the clock is shown on the display screen.
Adjust Clock Select “YES” to adjust the hours and/or minutes on the clock.
Bass, treble, balance and fade can also be
adjusted by pressing the MENU button until
the desired mode appears in the display. Press theSEEK orTRACK but-
ton to adjust the setting to the desired level
(-5 to +5). Once you have adjusted the
sound quality to the desired level, press the
MENU button repeatedly until the radio or CD display reappears, otherwise the radio
or CD display will automatically reappear
af ter about 10 seconds.

RPT (repeat)/RDM (random) button
Press the RPT/RDM button while a com-
pact disc is playing to change the play pat-
tern as follows:
CD:
TRACK REPEAT→DISC RANDOM →DISC
REPEAT
MP3/WMA CD:
FOLDER REPEAT →TRACK REPEAT →DISC
RANDOM →FOLDER RANDOM →DISC RE-
PEAT
TRACK REPEAT: The track that is currently
playing will be repeated.
DISC RANDOM: The order of the tracks on
the disc will be mixed during play.
DISC REPEAT: The disc currently playing will
be repeated.
FOLDER REPEAT: The tracks in the current
folder will be repeated.
FOLDER RANDOM: The order of the tracks in
the folder will be mixed during play. SCAN (CDs) button
Press the SCAN button for less than 1.5 sec-
onds to scan all tracks of the current disc
for 10 seconds per track. The SCAN icon is
flashed during scan mode.
The scan mode is canceled once it scans
through all tracks on the disc, or if the SCAN
button is pressed during scan mode.
CD EJECT
When the
button is pressed with a
compact disc loaded, the compact disc will
be ejected.
When the
button is pressed while the
compact disc is playing, the compact disc
will eject and the system will turn off.
AUX (auxiliary) button
The AUX IN jack is located on the CD player.
The AUX IN audio input jack accepts any
standard analog audio input such as from
a portable cassette tape/CD player, MP3
player or laptop computers.
Press the AUX button to play a compatible
device when it is plugged into the AUX IN
jack. Press the MENU button repeatedly until
“AUX IN Volume” appears on the screen to
control the incoming volume level of the
auxiliary input device. Turn the
TUNE/FOLDER knob to adjust the level be-
tween 0 and +3.
