
The system determines the clearance to thefront and rear of your vehicle andautomatically steers your vehicle out of aparallel parking space (hands-free) while youcontrol the accelerator, gearshift and brakes.The system visually and audibly guides youto enter traffic.
After the system directs your vehicle pastthe adjacent vehicle or object, it guides youto take control of the steering to completethe exit out of the parking space.
Note:If the clearance in front of your vehicleallows easy departure, the Parallel Park OutAssist feature may not be available.
Note:You are responsible for controllingyour vehicle and making sure the path isclear prior to pulling into traffic.
Note:Do not use this system to assist inexiting perpendicular parking spaces.Damages to your vehicle may occur.
Note:If your vehicle speed exceedsapproximately 3 mph (5 km/h) or youinterrupt the maneuver, the system switchesoff and you need to take full control of yourvehicle.
Deactivating the Active Park AssistFeature
You can manually deactivate the system by:
•Pressing the Active Park Assist buttonduring an active maneuver.
•Grabbing the steering wheel during anactive maneuver.
•Driving above approximately 22 mph(35 km/h) for 30 seconds while searchingfor a parking space.
•Driving above approximately 6 mph(10 km/h) during an active maneuver.
•Switching the traction control system off.
Certain vehicle conditions may alsodeactivate the system, for example:
•The traction control system activates.
•There is an anti-lock brake systemactivation or failure.
If a problem occurs with the system, awarning message displays accompanied bya tone. Occasional system messages mayoccur in normal operation. For recurring orfrequent system faults, contact an authorizeddealer.

Parking Aids

The cargo net secures lightweight objectsin the cargo area. Attach the net to theanchors provided. Repeat the attachment onboth sides of the vehicle.
LUGGAGE COVERS (If Equipped)
WARNING
Do not place objects on the luggagecover. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury or death in theevent of a sudden stop or crash.
Use the luggage cover to cover items in theluggage area of your vehicle.
Insert the ends of the luggage cover into themounting features located behind the rearseat on the rear trim panels to install thecover.
To operate the cover:
1. Pull out the cover and secure it in theretaining points.
2. Release it from the retaining points andlet it roll back into the case.

WARNINGS
When loading the roof racks, werecommend you evenly distribute theload, as well as maintain a low center ofgravity. Loaded vehicles, with higher centersof gravity, may handle differently thanunloaded vehicles. Take extra precautions,such as slower speeds and increasedstopping distance, when driving a heavilyloaded vehicle.
The maximum recommended load, evenlydistributed on the roof rack, is 100 lb (45 kg).
Note:If you use a roof rack, the fuelconsumption of your vehicle will be higherand you may experience different drivingcharacteristics.
Note:Never place loads directly on the roofpanel. The roof panel is not designed todirectly carry a load.
You must place loads directly on thecrossbars fitted to the roof rack side rails.When using the roof rack system, werecommend that you use genuine Fordaccessory crossbars specifically designedfor your vehicle.
Make sure that you securely fasten the load.Check the tightness of the load beforedriving and at each fuel stop.

FLOOR MATS
WARNINGS
Use a floor mat designed to fit thefootwell of your vehicle that does notobstruct the pedal area. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in the loss of controlof your vehicle, personal injury or death.
Pedals that cannot move freely cancause loss of vehicle control andincrease the risk of serious personal injury.
Secure the floor mat to both retentiondevices so that it cannot slip out ofposition and interfere with the pedals. Failureto follow this instruction could result in theloss of control of your vehicle, personal injuryor death.
Do not place additional floor mats orany other covering on top of theoriginal floor mats. This could result in thefloor mat interfering with the operation of thepedals. Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in the loss of control of your vehicle,personal injury or death.
WARNINGS
Always make sure that objects cannotfall into the driver foot well while yourvehicle is moving. Objects that are loose canbecome trapped under the pedals causinga loss of vehicle control.
To install the floor mats, position the floormat eyelet over the retention post and pressdown to lock in position.
To remove the floor mat, reverse theinstallation procedure.
Note:Regularly check the floor mats to makesure they are secure.
