We recommend that all seatbelt assembliesin use in vehicles involved in a crash bereplaced. However, if the crash was minorand an authorized dealer finds that the beltsdo not show damage and continue tooperate properly, they do not need to bereplaced. Seatbelt assemblies not in useduring a crash should also be inspected andreplaced if either damage or improperoperation is noted.

SEATBELT EXTENSION
WARNINGS
Persons who fit into the vehicle'sseatbelt should not use an extension.Unnecessary use could result in seriouspersonal injury in the event of a crash.
WARNINGS
Only use extensions provided free ofcharge by Lincoln Motor Companydealers. The dealer will provide an extensiondesigned specifically for this vehicle, modelyear and seating position. The use of anextension intended for another vehicle,model year or seating position may not offeryou the full protection of your vehicle’sseatbelt restraint system.
Never use seatbelt extensions to installchild restraints.
Do not use a seatbelt extension withan inflatable seatbelt.
Do not use extensions to change thefit of the belt across the torso, over thelap or to make the seatbelt buckle easier toreach.
If, because of body size or driving position,it is not possible to properly fasten theseatbelt over your lap and shoulder, anextension that is compatible with theseatbelts is available free of charge fromLincoln Motor Company dealers. Only Lincoln
seatbelt extensions made by the samecompany which made the original equipmentseatbelts, should be used with Lincolnseatbelts. Ask your authorized dealer if yourextension is compatible with your Lincolnvehicle restraint system.

Seatbelts
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
MyKey allows you to program keys withrestricted driving modes to promote gooddriving habits. You can program therestrictions to all keys but one. Any keys thatyou did not program are administrator keysor admin keys.
You can use admin keys to:
•Create a MyKey with certain vehiclerestrictions.
•Program certain MyKey settings.
•Clear all MyKey restrictions.
After you program a MyKey, you can viewthe following information through theinformation display:
•The total number of admin keys andMyKeys for your vehicle.
•The total distance a MyKey drivertraveled with your vehicle.
Note:Every MyKey receives the samerestrictions and settings. You cannotprogram them individually.
Note:For vehicles equipped with apush-button start switch: When both a MyKeyand an admin key are present when youstart your vehicle, the system recognizes theadmin key only.
Standard Settings
Not every vehicle includes the features listedbelow. If your vehicle has this equipment,then you cannot change the followingsettings when using a MyKey:
•Seatbelt reminder or Belt-Minder™. MyKeymutes the audio system until drivers, andin some instances, passengers, fastentheir seatbelts. Note: If your vehicleincludes an AM/FM radio or a very basicaudio system, then the radio may notmute.
•Earlier low-fuel warning. The low-fuelwarning activates earlier for MyKeydrivers, giving them more time to refuel.
•Certain driver alerts, stability systems orparking aids turn on automatically whenyou use the MyKey system. For example,Blind Spot Information System (BLIS),cross traffic alert, lane departure warningor forward collision warning. Note: MyKeydrivers may be able to turn the lanedeparture warning feature off, but thisfeature turns back on automatically withevery new key cycle.
•Restricted touchscreen operation in somemarkets. For example, MyKey mayprevent manual navigation destinationinput while the vehicle is in any gearother than park (P) or when the vehiclereaches a certain rate of speed.
•Satellite radio adult content restrictions,if this feature is available in your market.
Optional Settings
You can configure certain vehicle featuresettings when you first create a MyKey. Youcan also change the settings afterward withan admin key.

Number of MyKeys
Indicates the number of MyKeysprogrammed to your vehicle. Use this featureto detect how many MyKeys you have foryour vehicle and determine when all MyKeyshave been deleted.
Number of Admin Keys
Indicates how many admin keys areprogrammed to your vehicle. Use this featureto determine how many admin keys you havefor your vehicle, and detect if an additionalMyKey has been programmed.
USING MYKEY WITH REMOTE
START SYSTEMS
MyKey is not compatible with nonFord-approved, aftermarket remote startsystems. If you choose to install a remotestart system, see an authorized dealer for aFord-approved remote start system.

Potential causesCondition

You can use the power door lock or theremote control to lock and unlock yourvehicle.
Power Door Locks
The power door lock is on the driver andfront passenger door panels.

Door Lock Indicator
An LED on each door window trim lightswhen you lock the door. It remains on for upto five minutes after you switch the ignitionoff.
Switch Inhibitor
When you electronically lock your vehicle,the power door lock and interior luggagecompartment release switch will no longeroperate after 20 seconds. You must unlockyour vehicle with the remote control orkeyless keypad, or switch the ignition on, torestore function to these switches. You canswitch this feature on or off in the informationdisplay. See General Information (page 109).
Remote Control
You can use the remote control at any time.The luggage compartment release buttononly works when your vehicle speed is lessthan 3 mph (5 km/h).
Unlocking the Doors (Two-Stage Unlock)
Press the button to unlock thedriver door. Press the button againwithin three seconds to unlock alldoors. The direction indicators will flash.
Press and hold both the lock and unlockbuttons on the remote control for fourseconds to disable or enable two-stageunlocking. Disabling two-stage unlockingallows all vehicle doors to unlock with onepress of the button. The direction indicatorswill flash twice to indicate a change to theunlocking mode. The unlocking modeapplies to the remote control, keyless entrykeypad and intelligent access.
Intelligent access at the driver door willunlock all doors when you disable two-stageunlocking.
Locking the Doors
Press the button to lock all thedoors. The direction indicators willflash.

Illuminated Entry
The interior lamps and select exterior lampswill light when you unlock the doors with theremote control.
The system turns off the lights if:
•You start your vehicle.
•You press the remote control lock button.
•They are on for 25 seconds.
The lights will not turn off if:
•You switch them on with the lampcontrol.
•Any door is open.
Illuminated Exit
The interior lamps and select exterior lampswill light when all doors are closed and youswitch the ignition off.
The lamps turn off if all the doors remainclosed and either of the following occurs:
•After 25 seconds elapse.
•You lock your vehicle from the outside.
Battery Saver
If you leave the courtesy lamps or domelamps on and switch the ignition off, thisfeature turns them off after some time.
Accessory Mode Battery Saver forIntelligent Access Keys
If you leave your vehicle with the ignition on,it will turn off 15 minutes after you close allof the doors.
Welcome Lighting
This feature lights select exterior lighting asyou approach your vehicle. You must havean intelligent access key with you. Thefeature turns off when you open a door,liftgate, or unlock your vehicle. Welcomelighting remains on for 25 seconds or untilyou start your vehicle.
The feature is active when:
•The feature is configured on in theinformation display. See GeneralInformation (page 109).
•The ignition is off.
•All doors and the liftgate are closed.
•You lock your vehicle.
The feature is not active when:
•Your vehicle detects the intelligentaccess key is inside.
•The intelligent access key is in closerange of the vehicle for more than twominutes.
•The anti-theft alarm triggers.
•You do not start your vehicle for morethan five days.
•The vehicle battery charge is low.
Note:When this feature is disabled, youmust switch the ignition on to reset it.
Note:This feature may not correctly operateif the intelligent access key is stored within8–15 ft (2.4–4.6 m) of your vehicle while notin use.

•Do not set a code that uses five of thesame number.
•Do not use five numbers in sequentialorder.
•The factory-set code works even if youhave set your own personal code.
Erasing a Personal Code
1. Enter the factory-set five-digit code.
2. Press and release 1•2 on the keypadwithin five seconds.
3.Press and hold 1•2 for two seconds. Youmust do this within five seconds ofcompleting Step 2.
All personal codes erase and only thefactory-set five-digit code works.
Anti-Scan Feature
The keypad goes into an anti-scan mode ifyou enter the wrong code seven times (35consecutive button presses). This modedisables the keypad for one minute and thekeypad lamp flashes.
The anti-scan feature turns off after any ofthe following occur:
•One minute of keypad inactivity passes.
•You press the unlock button on theremote control.
•You switch the ignition on.
•You unlock the vehicle using intelligentaccess.
Unlocking and Locking the Doors
To Unlock the Driver Door
Enter the factory-set five-digit code or yourpersonal code. You must press each numberwithin five seconds of each other. Theinterior lamps illuminates.
Note:All doors unlock if the two-stageunlocking feature is disabled. See Lockingand Unlocking (page 64).
To Unlock All Doors
Enter the factory-set code or your personalcode, then press 3•4 control within fiveseconds.
To Lock All Doors
Press and hold 7•8 and 9•0 at the same timewith the driver door closed. You do not needto enter the keypad code first.
Displaying the Factory-Set Code
Note: You need to have two programmedintelligent access keys for this procedure.
To display the factory-set code in theinformation display:
1. Open the center console lid.
2. Insert the first programmed key in thebackup slot.

Use the rotary control to adjust the sensitivityof the autowipers. When you select lowsensitivity, the wipers operate when thesensor detects a large amount of water onthe windshield. When you select highsensitivity, the wipers operate when thesensor detects a small amount of water onthe windshield.
Keep the outside of the windshield clean. The rain sensor is very sensitive and thewipers may operate if dirt, mist or insects hitthe windshield.
In these conditions, you can do the following:
•Lower the sensitivity of the autowipersto reduce the amount of smearing on thewindshield.
•Switch to normal or high-speed wipe.
•Switch autowipers off.
Autowipers Settings
Autowipers default to on and remain on untilyou switch it off in the information display.When you switch off autowipers, the wipersoperate in intermittent mode.

Windshield Wiper Activated Headlamps
When you switch the autolamps on, theheadlamps turn on within 10 seconds ofswitching the wipers on. They turn offapproximately 60 seconds after you switchthe windshield wipers off.
The headlamps do not turn on with thewipers:
•During a single wipe.
•When using the windshield washers.
•If the wipers are in intermittent mode.
Note:If you switch the autolamps and theautowipers on, the headlamps turn on whenthe windshield wipers continuously operate.
INSTRUMENT LIGHTING DIMMER
Note:When disconnecting the battery orwhen it runs out of charge, the illuminatedcomponents turn to the maximum setting.
