Eco Driving Indicator
Eco Driving Indicator will not operate under the following conditions: ●
The shift lever is in any position other than D. ●
A paddle shift swit ch is operated.●
Neither normal mode nor Eco drive mode is selected. (  P. 301)●
The vehicle speed is approximately 80 mph (130 km/h) or higher. ■
Background color of the indicator/shift posi tion display area (except F SPORT models)
The background color of the indicator/shift po sition display area is changed according to
the driving mode as follows (  P. 301):●
Eco drive mode: Blue ●
Sport mode: Red ■
G-force display (if equipped)
The G-force values may not be zero even when the vehicle is parked, such as when it is
parked on an incline. ■
Suspension of the settings display ●
Some settings cannot be changed while driv ing. When changing settings, park the
vehicle in a safe place. ●
If a warning message is displa yed, operation of the settin gs display will be suspended.■
Tire pressure ●
It may take a few minutes to display the tire inflation pressure after the engine switch is
turned to IGNITION ON mode. It may also take a few minutes to display the tire infla-
tion pressure after inflation pressure has been adjusted.●
“---” may be displayed if the tire position information cannot be determined due to
unfavorable radio wave conditions. ●
Tire inflation pressure changes with temperat ure. The displayed values may also be dif-
ferent from the values measured using a tire pressure gauge.Eco Driving Indicator Light
During Eco-friendly acceleration (Eco driv-
ing), the Eco Driving Indicator Light will turn
on. When the acceleration exceeds the Zone
of Eco driving, or when the vehicle is stopped,
the light turns off.
Eco Driving Indicator Zone Display
Suggests the Zone of Eco driving with current
Eco driving ratio based on acceleration.
Eco driving ratio based on acceleration
If the acceleration exceeds the Zone of Eco
driving, the right side of the Eco Driving Indi-
cator Zone Display will illuminate.

Odometer
Displays the total distance the vehicle has been driven. ■
Trip meter A/trip meter B
Displays the distance the vehicle has been driven since the meter was last
reset. Trip meters A and B can be used to record and display different dis-
tances independently. To reset, display the desired trip meter and press and hold the odometer/trip meter
and trip meter reset button.■
Eco Driving Indicator
Eco Driving Indicator will not operate under the following conditions: ●
The shift lever is in any position other than D. ●
A paddle shift swit ch is operated.●
Neither normal mode nor Eco drive mode is selected. (  P. 301)●
The vehicle speed is approximatel y 80 mph (130 km/h) or higher.■
Start-up display
When the engine is started, the name of the vehicle is displayed on the multi-information
display.
While the start-up display is being displaye d, the meter display cannot be changed even
if the drive mode is changed. When the start- up display is finished, the meter display for
the currently selected mode will be displayed.■
Torque distribution display (if equipped)
Torque distribution may not be displayed correctly in some ca ses, such as when the vehi-
cle passes over road expansion joints.Odometer/trip meter display
During Eco-friendly acceleration (Eco driving),
the Eco Driving Indicator Light will turn on.
When the acceleration exceeds the Zone of
Eco driving, or when the vehicle is stopped, the
light turns off.

switch.
When the “-” paddle shift switch is oper ated, the shift range will be downshifted
to a range that enables engine braking forc e that is suitable to driving conditions.
When the “+” paddle shift switch is operated, the shift range will be one gear
higher than the gear in use during normal D position driving.
Changing the shift range allows restrictio n of the highest gear, preventing unnec-
essary upshifting and enabling the level of engine braking force to be selected.
Upshifting
Downshifting 8-speed models: Th e selected shift
range, from D1 to D8, will be displayed
in the meter.
6-speed models: The selected shift
range, from D1 to D6, will be displayed
in the meter.
To return to normal D position driving,
the “+” paddle shift switch must be held
down for a period of time.■
Shift ranges and their functions
A lower shift range will provide greater engi ne braking forces than a higher shift

ating the shift lever or paddle shift switch es, allowing you to drive in the gear of
your choosing.
Upshifting
Downshifting The gear changes once every time the
shift lever or paddle shift switch is oper-
ated.
8-speed models: Th e selected gear,
from M1 to M8, will be fixed and dis-
played in the meter.
6-speed models: The selected gear,
from M1 to M6, will be fixed and dis-
played in the meter.
When in the M position, the gear will not change unless the shift lever or pad-
dle shift switches are operated.
However, even when in the M positi on, the gears will be automatically
changed in the following situation: ●
When vehicle speed drops (downshift only). ●
When a gear change is necessary to protect the engine or automatic trans-
mission when the engine coolant te mperature or automatic transmission
fluid temperature is low, or other reasons.
In the following situations, the gear will no t shift even if the shift lever or paddle
shift switches are operated. ●
“Slippery Road. Cannot Shift to Lowe r Gear.” is displayed on the multi-
information display. ●
The vehicle speed is low (upshift only).Selecting gears in the M position 1

Automatic deactivation of shift range selection in the D position
Shift range selection in the D position will be deactivated in the following situations:●
When the vehicle comes to a stop ●
If the accelerator pedal is depressed fo r more than a certain period of time●
When the shift lever is shifted to a position other than D ■
To protect the automatic transmission
If the automatic transmission fluid temperat ure is high, “Transmission Fluid Temp High
See Owner’s Manual” will be displayed on the multi-information display and the vehicle
will go into transmission protection mode automatically. Have th e vehicle inspected by
your Lexus dealer. ■
Downshifting restriction warning buzzer
To help ensure safety and driving performance, downshifti ng operation may sometimes
be restricted. In some circum stances, downshifting may not be possible even when the
shift lever or paddle shif t switch is operated. (A buzzer will sound twice.)■
Snow mode automatic deactivation
Snow mode is automatically deactivated if the engine switch is turn ed off after driving in
snow mode. ■
When driving with dynamic radar cruise control activated
Even when performing the following actions with the intent of enabling engine braking,
engine braking will not activate because dy namic radar cruise control will not be can-
celed. ●
8-speed models: While driving in the D posi tion, downshifting to 7, 6, 5 or 4.

6-speed models: While driving in the D position, downshifting to 5 or 4.

When switching the driving mode to sport mode while driving in D position.

Shift lock system
The shift lock system is a system to prevent ac cidental operation of the shift lever in start-
ing.
The shift lever can be shifted from P only when the engine switch is in IGNITION ON
mode and the brake pedal is being depressed. ■
Restraining sudden start (Drive-Start Control)●
When the following unusual operation is performed, the engine output may be
restrained.
• When the shift lever is shifted from R to D, D to R, N to R, P to D, or P to R (D
includes M) with the accelerator pedal depressed, a warning message appears on
the multi-information display. (  P. 465)
• When the accelerator pedal is depressed t oo much while the vehicle is in reverse.

The ASC system can be operated when

ASC (Active Sound Control) 
(RC F)
 : If equippedThe ASC system sonically emphasizes the vehicle’s response to the driver’s
operation of the accelerator pedal and sh ift lever or paddle shift switches. The
dynamic engine sound enabled by this system helps the driver further enjoy
the feeling of unity with the vehicle, particularly when driving in M mode.

Driving

Dynamic radar cruise control can be set when ●
The shift lever is in D. ●
Range 4 or higher of D has been selected by using the paddle shift switch. ●
Vehicle speed is at or above approximately 30 mph (50 km/h).■
Accelerating after setting the vehicle speed
The vehicle can accelerate by operating the accelerator pedal. After accelerating, the
set speed resumes. However, during vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode, the vehi-
cle speed may decrease below the set speed in order to maintain the distance to the pre-
ceding vehicle. ■
Automatic cancelation of vehicle- to-vehicle distance control mode
Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode is automatically canceled in the following situ-
ations. ●
Actual vehicle speed falls at or below approximately 25 mph (40 km/h).●
VSC is activated. ●
TRAC is activated for a period of time. ●
When the VSC or TRAC system is turned off. ●
When snow mode is set. ●
The sensor cannot detect correctly because it is covered in some way. ●
Pre-collision braking is activated.
If vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode is automatically canceled for any other rea-
son, there may be a malfunction in th e system. Contact your Lexus dealer.
