LC500_LC500h_OM_OM11405U_(U)
■CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plas-
tic) parts (if equipped)
CFRP is used for the scuff plates. When
cleaning the scuff plates, remove dirt using
a water-dampened soft cloth or synthetic
chamois, and then wipe the surface with a
dry soft cloth to remove any remaining
moisture.
WARNING
■Water in the vehicle
●LC500: Do not splash or spill liquid in
the vehicle.
Doing so may cause electrical compo-
nents etc. to malfunction or catch fire.
LC500h: Do not splash or spill liquid
in the vehicle, such as on the floor, on
the rear seats, in the hybrid battery
(traction battery) air vents, and in the
trunk. ( P.60)
Doing so may cause the hybrid battery,
electrical components, etc. to mal-
function or catch fire.
●Do not get any of the SRS components
or wiring in the vehicle interior wet.
( P.28)
An electrical malfunction may cause
the airbags to deploy or not function
properly, resulting in death or serious
injury.
■Cleaning the interior (especially
instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner.
The instrument panel may reflect off the
windshield, obstructing the driver’s view
and leading to an accident, resulting in
death or serious injury.
NOTICE
■Cleaning detergents
●Do not use the following types of
detergent, as they may discolor the
vehicle interior or cause streaks or
damage to painted surfaces:
• Non-seat portions: Organic sub- stances such as benzene or gasoline,
alkaline or acidic solutions, dye, and
bleach
• Seats: Alkaline or acidic solutions, such as thinner, benzene, and alcohol
●Do not use polish wax or polish
cleaner. The instrument panel’s or
other interior part’s painted surface
may be damaged.
■Preventing damage to leather sur-
faces
Observe the following precautions to
avoid damage to and deterioration of
leather surfaces:
●Remove any dust or dirt from leather
surfaces immediately.
●Do not expose the vehicle to direct
sunlight for extended periods of time.
Park the vehicle in the shade, espe-
cially during summer.
●Do not place items made of vinyl, plas-
tic, or containing wax on the uphol-
stery, as they may stick to the leather
surface if the vehicle interior heats up
significantly.
■Water on the floor
Do not wash the vehicle floor with water.
Vehicle systems such as the audio system
may be damaged if water comes into
contact with electrical components such
as the audio system above or under the
floor of the vehicle. Water may also
cause the body to rust.

When trouble arises
■Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
When the 12-volt battery charge becomes insufficient or the voltage temporarily drops, the
electric power steering syst em warning light may come on and the warning buzzer may
sound.
■Tire pressure warning light
When a malfunction occurs in the tire pressu re warning system, the tire pressure warning
light blinks to warn the driver . However, if the warning light blinks for 1 minute, and then
remains illuminated, making it difficult to determine whether the warning light is blinking,
turn the engine switch
check if the warning light blinks.
■When the tire pressure warning light comes on
Check the tire inflation pressure and adjust to the appropriate level. Pushing the tire pres-
sure warning reset switch will not turn off the tire pressure warning light.
■The tire pressure warning light may come on due to natural causes
The tire pressure warnin g light may come on due to natural causes such as natural air leaks
and tire inflation pressure chan ges caused by temperature. In this case, adjusting the tire
inflation pressure will turn off the warning light (after a few minutes).
■Conditions that the tire pressure wa rning system may not function properly
P.303
■If the tire pressure warning light freque ntly comes on after blinking for 1 minute
If the tire pressure warning lig ht frequently comes on after blinking for 1 minute when the
engine switch
checked by your Lexus dealer.
■Warning buzzer
In some cases, the buzzer may not be heard du e to being in a noisy location or audio sound.
■Customization
The vehicle speed linked seat belt reminder buzzer can be disabled.
(Customizable features: P.391)
WARNING
■If both the ABS and the brake sy stem warning lights remain on
Stop your vehicle in a safe place immediately and contact your Lexus dealer. The vehicle
will become extremely unstable during brakin g, and the ABS system may fail, which could
cause an accident resulting in death or serious injury.
■When the electric power steering system warning light comes on
When the light comes on in yellow, the assist to the power steering is restricted. When the
light comes on red, the assist to the power steering is lost and handling operations of the
steering wheel become extremely heavy. When steering wheel operations are heavier
than usual, grip the steering wheel firmly and operate it using more force than usual.
■If the tire pressure warning light comes on
Be sure to observe the following precautions. Failure to do so could cause a loss of vehi-
cle control and result in death or serious injury.
