■Caring for leather areas
Lexus recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to maintain
the quality of the vehicle’s interior.
■Shampooing the carpets
There are several commercial foaming-type cl
eaners available. Use a sponge or brush to
apply the foam. Rub in overlapp ing circles. Do not use water. Wipe dirty surfaces and let
them dry. Excellent results are obtained by keeping the carpet as dry as possible.
■Seat belts
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a cloth or sponge. Also check the belts
periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cuts.
■When cleaning the carpeted portions of the glove box, console box, etc.
If a strong adhesive tape is used, there is a possibility that the surface of the carpet could
be damaged.
WARNING
■Water in the vehicle
●Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle, such as on the floor and in the hybrid bat-
tery (traction battery) air vents or in the trunk.
Doing so may cause the hybrid battery, elec trical components, etc. to malfunction or
catch fire.
●Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle interior wet. (→P. 38)
An electrical malfunction ma y cause the airbags to deploy or not function properly,
resulting in death or serious injury.
■Cleaning the interior (especially instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. Th e instrument panel may reflect off the wind-
shield, obstructing the driver’s view and le ading to an accident, resulting in death or
serious injury.

■After a fuse is replaced
●If the lights do not turn on even after the fuse has been replaced, a bulb may need
replacement. (

●If the replaced fuse blows again, have th e vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
■If there is an overload in a circuit
The fuses are designed to blow, protecting the wiring harness from damage.
■When replacing light bulbs
Lexus recommends that you use genuine Lexus products designed for this vehicle.
Because certain bulbs are connected to circui ts designed to prevent overload, non-gen-
uine parts or parts not designed for this vehicle may be unusable.
WARNING
■To prevent system breakdowns and vehicle fire
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause damage to th e vehicle, and possibly a fire or injury.
●Never use a fuse of a higher amperage rating than that indicated, or use any other
object in place of a fuse.
●Always use a genuine Lexus fuse or equivalent.
Never replace a fuse with a wire, even as a temporary fix.
●Do not modify the fuses or fuse boxes.
NOTICE
■Before replacing fuses
Have the cause of electrical overload determined and repaired by your Lexus dealer as
soon as possible.

When trouble arises
*: Driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer: The driver’s seat belt warning buzzer sounds to alert the driver that his or her seat belt
is not fastened. Once the power switch is turned to ON mode, the buzzer sounds for
6 seconds. If the vehicle reaches a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h), the buzzer sounds
once. If the seat belt is st ill unfastened after 30 seconds, the buzzer will sound inter-
mittently for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat belt is still unfastened, the buzzer will sound
in a different tone for 20 more seconds.
The front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer sounds to alert the front passenger
that his or her seat belt is not fastened. Th e buzzer sounds once if the vehicle reaches
a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h). If the seat belt is still unfastened after 30 seconds, the
buzzer will sound intermittently for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat belt is still unfastened,
the buzzer will sound in a different tone for 20 more seconds.
■SRS warning light
This warning light system monitors the airbag sensor assembly, front impact sensors, side
impact sensors (front door), side impact se nsors (front), side impact sensors (rear),
driver’s seat position sensor, driver’s seat belt buckle switch, front passenger occupant
classification system (ECU and sensors), “AIR BAG ON” indicator light, “AIR BAG OFF”
indicator light, front passenger’s seat belt buckle switch, seat belt pretensioner assem-
blies, airbags, interconnectin g wiring and power sources.

Tire pressure warning light
When the light comes on:
Low tire inflation pressure such as
• Natural causes ( →P. 506)
•Flat tire ( →P. 513)
→ Adjust the tire inflation pres sure to the specified level.
The light will turn off after a few minutes. In case the light does
not turn off even if the tire inflation pressure is adjusted, have the
system checked by your Lexus dealer.
When the light comes on af ter blinking for 1 minute:
Malfunction in the tire pr essure warning system (→P. 506)
→ Have the system checked by your Lexus dealer.

“AFS OFF” indicator
Indicates a malfunction in the adaptive front-lighting system
→Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.
