NOTE:
If the tire becomes over-inflated, push the
Deflation Button to reduce the tire pressure
to the recommended inflation pressure be-
fore continuing.
If the tire inflates to the recommended pres-
sure or is at least 26 psi (1.8 Bar) pressure
within 15 minutes:
1. Push the Power Button (4) to turn off the Tire
Service Kit.
2. Remove the Speed Limit sticker from the top
of the Sealant Bottle (1) and place the sticker
on the instrument panel.
3. Immediately disconnect the Sealant Hose
(6) from the valve stem, reinstall the cap on
the fitting at the end of the hose, and place
the Tire Service Kit in the vehicle storage
location. Quickly proceed to (D) “Drive Ve-
hicle.”CAUTION!
•The metal end fitting from Power Plug (8)
may get hot after use, so it should be
handled carefully.
•Failure to reinstall the cap on the fitting at
the end of the Sealant Hose (6) can result
in sealant contacting your skin, clothing,
and the vehicle’s interior. It can also result
in sealant contacting internal Tire Service
Kit components which may cause perma-
nent damage to the kit.
(D) Drive Vehicle:
Immediately after injecting sealant and inflating
the tire, drive the vehicle 5 miles (8 km) or 10
minutes to ensure distribution of the Tire Ser-
vice Kit Sealant within the tire. Do not exceed
55 mph (90 km/h).
WARNING!
Tire Service Kit is not a permanent flat tire
repair. Have the tire inspected and repaired

or replaced after using Tire Service Kit. Do
not exceed 55 mph (90 km/h) until the tire is
repaired or replaced. Failure to follow this
warning can result in injuries that are serious
or fatal to you, your passengers, and others
around you.
(E) After Driving:
Pull over to a safe location. Refer to “Whenever
You Stop to Use Tire Service Kit” before con-
tinuing.
1. Push in the Mode Select Knob (5) and turn to
the Air Mode position.
2. Uncoil the power plug and insert the plug
into the vehicle’s 12 Volt power outlet.
3. Uncoil the Air Pump Hose (7) (black in color)
and screw the fitting at the end of hose (7)
onto the valve stem.
4. Check the pressure in the tire by reading the
Pressure Gauge (3).

NOTE:
Push theESC Offswitch, to place the
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system in
Partial Offmode, before rocking the ve-
hicle. Refer to “Electronic Brake Control” in
“Starting And Operating” for further infor-
mation. Once the vehicle has been freed,
push theESC Offswitch again to restore
ESC Onmode.
CAUTION!
•
When “rocking” a stuck vehicle by shifting
between DRIVE/2nd gear and REVERSE,
do not spin the wheels faster than 15 mph
(24 km/h), or drivetrain damage may result.
•Revving the engine or spinning the wheels
too fast may lead to transmission over-
heating and failure. It can also damage the
tires. Do not spin the wheels above
30 mph (48 km/h) while in gear (no trans-
mission shifting occurring).
WARNING!
Fast spinning tires can be dangerous.
Forces generated by excessive wheel
speeds may cause damage, or even failure,
of the axle and tires. A tire could explode and
injure someone. Do not spin your vehicle’s
wheels faster than 30 mph (48 km/h) or for
longer than 30 seconds continuously without
stopping when you are stuck and do not let
anyone near a spinning wheel, no matter
what the speed.
GEAR SELECTOR OVERRIDE
If a malfunction occurs and the gear selector
cannot be moved out of the PARK position, you
can use the following procedure to temporarily
move the gear selector:
1. Turn the engine OFF.
2. Firmly apply the parking brake.3. Using a small screwdriver or similar tool,
remove the gear selector override access
cover (located on the right side of the gear
selector housing).
4. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC or ON/
RUN position, but do not start the engine.
5. Press and maintain firm pressure on the
brake pedal.
6. Insert the screwdriver or similar tool into the
access port, and push and hold the override
release lever forward.Gear Selector Override Access Cover

Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Refrigerant Recovery And Recycling
R-134a Air Conditioning Refrigerant is a hydro-
fluorocarbon (HFC) that is endorsed by the
Environmental Protection Agency and is an
ozone-saving product. However, the manufac-
turer recommends that air conditioning service
be performed by authorized dealer or other
service facilities using recovery and recycling
equipment.
NOTE:
Use only manufacturer approved A/C sys-
tem PAG compressor oil and refrigerants.
A/C Air Filter
Refer to the “Maintenance Schedule” for the
proper maintenance intervals.
WARNING!
Do not remove the A/C air filter while the
vehicle is running, or while the ignition is in
the ACC or ON/RUN mode. With the A/C air
filter removed and the blower operating, the
blower can contact hands and may propel
dirt and debris into your eyes, resulting in
personal injury.
The A/C air filter is located in the fresh air inlet
behind the glove compartment. Perform the
following procedure to replace the filter:
1. Open the glove compartment and remove all
contents.
2. Push in on the sides of the glove compart-
ment and lower the door.
3. Pivot the glove compartment downward.
4. Disengage the two retaining tabs that secure
the filter cover to the HVAC housing, and
remove the cover.5. Remove the A/C air filter by pulling it straight
out of the housing.
6. Install the A/C air filter with the arrow on the
filter pointing toward the floor. When install-
ing the filter cover, make sure the retaining
tabs fully engage the cover.

Fluid Level Check
Check the fluid level by removing the fill plug.
The fluid level should be between the bottom of
the fill hole and a point not more than 3/16 inch
(4.7 mm) below the bottom of the hole.
Add fluid, if necessary, to maintain the proper
level.
Please see your authorized dealer for service.
Frequency Of Fluid Change
Under normal operating conditions, the fluid
installed at the factory will give satisfactory
lubrication for the life of the vehicle. Fluid
changes are not necessary unless lubricant has
become contaminated with water.
NOTE:
If contaminated with water, the fluid should
be changed immediately.Rear Drive Assembly (RDA) —

Lubricant Selection
Use only the manufacturer’s recommended
fluid. Refer to “Fluids, Lubricants, And Genuine
Parts” in “Maintaining Your Vehicle” for further
information.
Fluid Level Check
Visually inspect the unit at each oil change for
leakage. If leakage is detected, check the fluid
level by removing the fill plug. The fluid level
should be maintained between the bottom of
the fill hole to 1/8 inch (4 mm) below the fill hole.
Add fluid, if necessary, to maintain the proper
level.

Refer to the “Maintenance Schedule” for the
proper maintenance intervals.
