EXTERIOR LIGHTS
Headlight SwitchHeadlightsThe headlight switch is located on the instru-
ment panel to the left of the steering wheel.
From the off (O) position, rotate the headlight
switch counterclockwise to enable the park-
ing lights. This feature will allow one side of
the vehicle park lights to be on when the
vehicle is locked dependant on the turn stalk
position. Rotate the headlight switch clock-
wise from the off (O) position to the first
detent for headlight, parking light and instru-
ment panel light operation
Adaptive Bi-Xenon High Intensity
Discharge Headlights — If Equipped
This system automatically swivels the head-
light beam pattern horizontally to provide
increased illumination in the direction the
vehicle is steering.
NOTE:
• Each time the Adaptive Headlight System
is turned on, the headlights will initialize by
performing a brief sequence of rotations. • The Adaptive Headlight System is active
only when the vehicle is moving forward.
The Adaptive Headlight System can be
turned on or off using the Uconnect System,
refer to “Uconnect Settings” in “Multime-
dia” in the Owner’s Manual for further infor-
mation.
Daytime Running Lights (DRL) —
If Equipped
The Daytime Running Lights will turn on
when the engine is started and remain on
unless the headlamps are turned on, the
parking brake is applied, or the engine is shut
off.
NOTE:
If allowed by law in the country in which the
vehicle was purchased, the Daytime Running
Lights can be turned on and off using the
Uconnect System, refer to “Uconnect Set-
tings” in “Multimedia” in the Owner’s
Manual for further information.

Front And Rear Fog Lights — If Equipped
The fog light switches are built into the head-
light switch.
To activate the front fog lights, push the
upper half of the headlight switch. To turn off
the front fog lights, push the upper half of the
headlight switch a second time.
To activate the rear fog lights, push the
lower half of the headlight switch. To turn off
the rear fog lights, push the lower half of the
headlight switch a second time.
NOTE:
To turn on the rear fog lamps, the low beam
lamps or front fog lamps must first be active.
An indicator light in the instrument cluster
illuminates when the fog lights are turned on.
Turn Signals
Move the multifunction lever up or down
and the arrows on each side of the in-
strument cluster display flash to show
proper operation of the front and rear
turn signal lights. NOTE:
• If either light remains on and does not
flash, or there is a very fast flash rate, check
for a defective outside light bulb. If an
indicator fails to light when the lever is
moved, it would suggest that the indicator
bulb is defective.
•
When the Daytime Running Lights are on and
a turn signal is activated, the Daytime Run-
ning Lamp will turn off on the side of the
vehicle in which the turn signal is flashing.
The Daytime Running Lamp will turn back on
when the turn signal is turned off.
Lane Change Assist
Tap the lever up or down once, without mov-
ing beyond the detent, and the turn signal
(right or left) will flash three times. Then,
automatically turn off.
Automatic Headlight Leveling —
HID Headlights Only
This feature prevents the headlights from
interfering with the vision of oncoming driv-
ers. Headlight leveling automatically adjusts
the height of the headlight beam in reaction
to changes in vehicle pitch.

— Loose Fuel Filler Cap Warning Light
— If Equipped
This warning light will illuminate when the
fuel filler cap is loose. Properly close the filler
cap to disengage the light. If the light does
not turn off, please see an authorized dealer.
Yellow Indicator Lights
— Glow Plug Light — If Equipped
This vehicle will inhibit engine cranking when
the ambient temperature is less than –22° F
(–30° C) and the oil temperature sensor read-
ing indicates an engine block heater has not
been used. The Glow Plug light will flash
during in cold weather for up to ten seconds.
If equipped with a block heater harness the
message "Plug In Engine Heater", will be
displayed in the instrument cluster when the
ambient temperature is below 5°F (-15° C) at
the time the engine is shut off as a reminder
to avoid possible crank delays at the next cold
start.
— Low Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Indi-
cator Light — If Equipped
The Low Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Indicator
will illuminate if the vehicle is low on Diesel
Exhaust Fluid (DEF). Refer to “Starting And
Operating” for further information.
— Forward Collision Warning Off Indi-
cator Light — If Equipped
This light indicates that Forward Collision
Warning is off.
— 4WD Low Indicator Light —
If Equipped
This light alerts the driver that the vehicle is
in the four-wheel drive LOW mode. The front
and rear driveshafts are mechanically locked
together forcing the front and rear wheels to
rotate at the same speed. Low range provides
a greater gear reduction ratio to provide in-
creased torque at the wheels.
Refer to “Four-Wheel Drive Operation — If
Equipped” in “Starting And Operating” for
further information on four-wheel drive op-
eration and proper use.
— NEUTRAL Indicator Light —
If Equipped
This light alerts the driver that the 4WD
power transfer case is in the NEUTRAL mode
and the front and rear driveshafts are disen-
gaged from the powertrain.
— Rear Fog Indicator — If Equipped
This indicator light will illuminate when the
rear fog lights are on.

Bi-Xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID)
Headlamps — If Equipped
The headlamps contain a type of high voltage
discharge light source. High voltage can re-
main in the circuit even with the headlamp
switch off. Because of this, you should not
attempt to service a HID headlamp light source yourself. If an HID headlamp light
source fails, take your vehicle to an autho-
rized dealer for service.
NOTE:
On vehicles equipped with HID headlamps,
when the headlamps are turned on, there is a
blue hue to the lights. This diminishes and
becomes more white after approximately
10 seconds, as the system charges.
WARNING!
A transient high voltage occurs at the bulb
sockets of HID headlamps when the head-
lamp switch is turned ON. It may cause
serious electrical shock or electrocution if
not serviced properly. See your authorized
dealer for service.
