SPEEDOMETER AND
ODOMETER
This vehicle is equipped with a speedometer
and odometer. The speedometer is located
on the right side of the meter cluster. The
odometer is located below the vehicle infor-
mation display.

METERS AND GAUGES

TACHOMETER
The tachometer indicates engine speed in
revolutions per minute (rpm). Do not rev en-
gine into the red zone
1.
CAUTION
When engine speed approaches the red
zone, reduce engine speed. Operating the
engine in the red zone may cause serious
engine damage.
ENGINE COOLANT
TEMPERATURE GAUGE
The gauge indicates the engine coolant tem-
perature. The engine coolant temperature is
within the normal range
1when the gauge
needle points within the zone shown in the
illustration.
The engine coolant temperature varies with
the outside air temperature and driving con-
ditions.
CAUTION
If the gauge indicates coolant temperature
near the hot (H) end of the normal range,
reduce vehicle speed to decrease tempera-
ture. If the gauge is over the normal range,
stop the vehicle as soon as safely possible. If
the engine is overheated, continued opera-
tion of the vehicle may seriously damage
the engine. For additional information, re-
fer to “If your vehicle overheats” in the “In
case of emergency” section of this manual
for immediate action required.

OPERATING TIPS
The sunload sensor, located on the top driv-
er’s side of the instrument panel, helps the
system maintain a constant temperature. Do
not put anything on or around this sensor.∙ When the climate system is in automatic
operation and the engine coolant tem-
perature and outside air temperature are
low, the air flow outlet may default to
defogger mode for a maximum of 2 min-
utes 30 seconds. This is not a malfunc-
tion. After the engine coolant tempera-
ture warms up, the air flow outlet will
return to foot mode and operation will
continue normally.
∙ When the outside and interior cabin tem- peratures are moderate to high, the in-
take setting may default to turn off air
recirculation to allow fresh air into the
passenger compartment. You may notice
air flow from the foot mode, bi-level
mode, or side demist vent outlets for a
maximum of 15 seconds. This may occur
when previous climate setting was sys-
tem off. This is not a malfunction. After
the initial warm air is expelled, the intake
will return to automatic control, air flow
outlet will return to previous settings, and
operation will continue normally. To exit,
press any climate control button.
∙ Keep the moonroof (if so equipped) closed while the air conditioner is in op-
eration. ∙ If you feel that the air flow mode you
have selected and the outlets the air is
coming out do not match, select the
mode.
∙ When you change the air flow mode, you may feel air flow from the feet vents for
just a moment. This is not a malfunction.

∙ If the engine coolant temperature be-comes excessively high, the cruise control
system will be canceled automatically.
∙ If the SET indicator blinks, turn the ON/OFF switch off and have the system
checked. It is recommended that you visit
an INFINITI retailer for this service.
∙ The SET indicator may sometimes blink when the ON/OFF switch is turned on
while pushing the ACCEL/RES,
COAST/SET or CANCEL switch. To
properly set the cruise control system,
perform the steps below.
WARNING
Do not use the cruise control when driving
under the following conditions:
∙ when it is not possible to keep the vehicleat a set speed
∙ in heavy traffic or in traffic that varies in speed
∙ on winding or hilly roads
∙ on slippery roads (rain, snow, ice, etc.)
∙ in very windy areas
Doing so could cause a loss of vehicle con-
trol and result in an accident.
CRUISE CONTROL OPERATIONS
The cruise control allows driving at a speed
between 40 - 144 km/h (25 - 89 mph) with-
out keeping your foot on the accelerator
pedal.
To turn on the cruise control, push the
ON/OFF switch on. The CRUISE indicator
light in the vehicle information display will
illuminate.
To set cruising speed, accelerate the vehicle
to the desired speed, push the COAST/SET
switch and release it. The SET indicator light
in the vehicle information display will illumi-
nate. Take your foot off the accelerator
pedal. Your vehicle maintains the set speed.
∙ To pass another vehicle, depress the ac-
celerator pedal. When you release the
pedal, the vehicle returns to the previ-
ously set speed.
∙ The vehicle may not maintain the set speed when going up or down steep hills.
If this happens, drive without the cruise
control. To cancel the preset speed,
use one of the
following three methods:
∙ Push the CANCEL switch; the SET indi- cator light in the vehicle information dis-
play goes out.
∙ Tap the brake pedal; the SET indicator light goes out.
∙ Push the ON/OFF switch off. Both the CRUISE indicator light and SET indicator
light in the vehicle information display go
out.
The cruise control is automatically canceled
and the SET light in the vehicle information
display goes out if: ∙ You depress the brake pedal while push- ing the ACCEL/RES or SET/COAST
switch. The preset speed is deleted from
memory.
∙ The vehicle slows down more than 13 km/h (8 mph) below the set speed.
∙ You move the shift lever to N (Neutral).

Do not attach stickers (including transparent
material), install accessories or apply addi-
tional paint near the sonar sensors.
Do not strike or damage the area around the
sonar sensors. It is recommended that you
visit an INFINITI retailer if the area around
the sonar sensors is damaged due to a colli-
sion.FREEING A FROZEN DOOR LOCK
To prevent a door lock from freezing, apply
de-icer through the key hole. If the lock be-
comes frozen, heat the key before inserting it
into the key hole, or use the INFINITI Intelli-
gent Key.
ANTIFREEZE
In the winter when it is anticipated that the
temperature will drop below 0°C (32°F),
check the antifreeze to assure proper winter
protection. For additional information, refer
to “Engine cooling system” in the “Mainte-
nance and do-it-yourself” section of this
manual.
BATTERY
If the battery is not fully charged during ex-
tremely cold weather conditions, the battery
fluid may freeze and damage the battery. To
maintain maximum efficiency, the battery
should be checked regularly. For additional
information, refer to “Battery” in the “Mainte-
nance and do-it-yourself” section of this
manual.
DRAINING OF COOLANT WATER
If the vehicle is to be left outside without
anti-freeze, drain the cooling system, includ-
ing the engine block. Refill before operating
the vehicle. For additional information, refer
to “Changing engine coolant” in the “Mainte-
nance and do-it-yourself” section of this
manual.
TIRE EQUIPMENT
1. SUMMER tires have a tread designed toprovide superior performance on dry
pavement. However, the performance of
these tires will be substantially reduced
in snowy and icy conditions. If you oper-
ate your vehicle on snowy or icy roads,
INFINITI recommends the use of MUD &
SNOW or ALL SEASON TIRES on all
four wheels. It is recommended that you
visit an INFINITI retailer for the tire type,
size, speed rating and availability infor-
mation.
2. For additional traction on icy roads, studded tires may be used. However,
some states, provinces and territories
prohibit their use. Check local laws be-
fore installing studded tires.
