SONAR SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
WARNING
Listed below are the system limitations
for the sonar function. Failure to operate
the vehicle in accordance with these
system limitations could result in serious
injury or death.
. Inclement weather or ultrasonic
sources such as an automatic car
wash, a truck’s compressed-air brakes or a pneumatic drill may affect
the function of the system, including
reduced performance or a false acti-
vation.
. The system is not designed to pre-
vent contact with small or moving
objects.
. The system will not detect small
objects below the bumper, and may
not detect objects close to the bum-
per or on the ground.
. The system may not detect the
following objects:
— Fluffy objects such as snow, cloth, cotton, grass or wool.
— Thin objects such as rope, wire or chain.
— Wedge-shaped objects.
. If your vehicle sustains damage to the
bumper fascia, leaving it misaligned
or bent, the sensing zone may be
altered causing inaccurate measure-
ment of objects or false alarms.
CAUTION
Excessive noise (such as audio system
volume or an open vehicle window) will

Operations on touch panel screen
Climate control settings can be operated on
the touch panel screen.
Push the “CLIMATE” button and turn the
display to the Climate screen.
For details of the touch panel operation on
the center display, see the separate Infiniti
InTouch Owner’s Manual.
The following operations are available with
the touch panel screen.
Available items:
.
Touch to change the air flow mode.
When the DUAL mode (passenger sidetemperature control) is on, the “
”
icons for both driver’s and passenger’s
seat are displayed and can change the air
flow mode independently.
. -

Touch to change the fan speed of the air
from the ventilators.
. A/C
Touch to turn the air conditioner on/off.
. DUAL
Touch to turn the DUAL mode (passen-
ger side temperature control) on/off.
. Upper Vent
Touch to turn the upper vent system on/
off.
Automatic upper ventilator system:
In this mode, air from the center ventilators
flows both straight and upward in order to
control the cabin temperature without blow-
ing air directly on the occupants.
1. Push the “CLIMATE” button with the climate control system turned on to
display the Climate screen.
2. Select the “Upper Vent” key, and the indicator on the screen will illuminate.
The air flow against the driver’s or
passenger’s upper body becomes gentle.
. Distribution between straight and up-
ward flows is determined automatically
by the climate control system. If you prefer strong air flow against your upper
body, select the “Upper Vent” key to turn
the indicator light off.
. When the outside temperature decreases
to approximately 14°F (−10°C), the
“Upper Vent” function does not activate.
The “Upper Vent” function reactivates
automatically when ambient tempera-
ture is 14°F (−10°C) or more.
OPERATING TIPS
When the engine coolant temperature and
outside air temperature are low, the air flow
from the foot outlets may not operate. This
is not a malfunction. After the coolant
temperature warms up, air will flow normally
from the foot outlets.

ture. Do not put anything on or around the
sensors.
LINKING INTELLIGENT KEY
The Climate control system settings can be
memorized for each Intelligent Key. For
more details, see “Setting memory function”
(P.3-29).
SERVICING CLIMATE CONTROL
The climate control system in your vehicle is
charged with a refrigerant designed with the
environment in mind. This refrigerant will
not harm the earth’s ozone layer. However,
special charging equipment and lubricant are
required when servicing your INFINITI air
conditioner. Using improper refrigerants or
lubricants will cause severe damage to your
climate control system. (See “Capacities and
recommended fluids/lubricants” (P.10-2)
for climate control system refrigerant and
lubricant recommendations.)
Your INFINITI retailer will be able to service
your environmentally friendly climate control
system.
WARNING
The system contains refrigerant under
high pressure. To avoid personal injury,
any air conditioner service should be
done only by an experienced technician
with the proper equipment.
In-cabin microfilter
The climate control system is equipped with
a natural grape seed polyphenol filter which
collects and neutralizes dirt, pollen, dust,
allergens (such as cedar pollen, tick shells)
etc. To make sure that the air conditioner
heats, defogs and ventilates efficiently, re-
place the filter in accordance with the
specified maintenance intervals listed in the
“9. Maintenance and schedules” section. It is
recommended to see an INFINITI retailer to
replace the filter.
The filter should be replaced if the air flow
decreases significantly or if windows fog up
easily when operating the heater or air
conditioner.
