Security System Immobilizer System The immobilizer system prevents a key th at has not been pre-registered from
starting the power system. Each key cont ains electronic transmitters that use
electronic signals to verify the key.
Pay attention to the follo wing when pressing the POWER button:
• Do not allow objects that emit strong radio waves near the POWER button.
• Make sure the key is not covered by or touching a metal object.
• Do not bring a key from another vehicle’s immobilizer system near the POWER
button.
• Do not put the key near magnetic items. Electronic devices, such as televisions
and audio systems emit strong magnetic fields. Note that even a key chain can
become magnetic.
Security System Alarm The security system alarm activates when the trunk, hood or doors are forcibly
opened. The alarm does not activate if the trunk or doors are opened with the key,
remote transmitter or smart entry system.
However, the alarm activates if a door is op ened with the key and then the hood is
opened before the power mode is set to ON.
■ When the security system alarm activates
The horn sounds intermittently and some exterior lights flash.
■ To deactivate the security system alarm
Unlock the vehicle using the key, remote transmitter or smart entry system. The
system, along with the horn and flashing lights, is deactivated. 1 Immobilizer System NOTICE
Leaving the key in the vehicl e can result in theft or
accidental movement of the vehicle.
Always take the key with you whenever you leave the
vehicle unattended.
Do not alter the system or add other devices to it.
Doing so may damage the system and make your
vehicle inoperable.
Canadian models only: Apply and hold the brake
pedal before turning the vehicle on the first time after
the 12-volt battery ha s been disconnected.

Driving
• Store or secure all items on board properly.
u Carrying too much cargo, or improperly storing it, can affect your vehicle’s
handling, stability, sto pping distance, and tires, and make it unsafe.2 Maximum Load Limit P. 373
• Do not pile items higher than the seat height.
u They can block your view and may be thrown forward in the event of sudden
braking.
• Do not place anything in the front seat footwells. Make sure to secure the floor
mat.
u An object or unsecured floor mat can in terfere with your brake and accelerator
pedal operation while driving.
• If you have any animals on board, do not let them move around in the vehicle.

Driving When Driving Turning on the Power 1. Make sure the parking brake is applied.
2. Depress the brake pedal. 1 When Driving
When you set the power mode to ON, you may feel
as if the brake pedal is si nking down. This is normal.
1 Turning on the Power
Keep your foot firmly on the brake pedal when
starting the power system.
The engine is harder to st art in cold weather and in
thinner air found at altitudes above 8,000 feet (2,400
meters).
When turning on the power system in cold weather,
turn off all electrical accessories such as the lights,
climate control system, and rear defogger in order to
reduce 12-volt battery drain.
If the temperature of the High Voltage battery drops
below approximately –22°F (–30°C), the power
system will not start, the High Voltage battery will not
operate and, as a result, the vehicle will not start.
Store the vehicle in a gara ge or take another measure
to insure that temperature of the High Voltage
battery does not fa ll below this temperature. If
necessary, consult an author ized Honda Clarity Plug-

397uu When Driving u Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) System
Driving
The system becomes ready to start sear ching for lane mark ings when all the
following conditions are met:
• The vehicle is traveling between about 45 and 90 mph (72 and 145 km/h).
• The vehicle is on a straight or slightly curved road.
• The turn signals are off.
• The brake pedal is not depressed.
• The wipers are not in continuous operation.
• The vehicle is not accelera ting or braking, and the steering wheel is not being
turned.
• The system makes a determination that th e driver is not actively accelerating,
braking or steering.■ How the System Activates 1 How the System Activates
If LKAS is off and you have selected Narrow from the
customized options using the driver information
interface, the message below will appear in case the
system determines a possibility of your vehicle
crossing over detect ed lane markings.
2 Customized Features P. 133
The RDM system may automa tically shut off and the
indicator comes and stays on.
2 Indicators P. 86
RDM system function can be impacted when the
vehicle is:
• Not driven within a traffic lane.
• Driven on the inside edge of a curve, or outside of
a lane.
• Driven in a narrow lane.18 CLARITY PHEV CSS-31TRW6000.book 397 ページ 2017年8月31日 木曜日 午後2時49分

400 uu When Driving u Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF)
Driving Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed
Follow (LSF) Helps maintain a constant vehicle speed an d a set following-interval behind a vehicle
detected ahead of yours and, if the detect ed vehicle comes to a stop, can decelerate
and stop your vehicle, without you having to keep your foot on the brake or the
accelerator.
When ACC with LSF slows your vehicle by applying the brakes, your vehicle's brake
lights will illuminate. 1 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF)
Important Reminder
As with any system, there are limits to ACC with LSF.
Use the brake pedal whenever necessary, and always
keep a safe interval betw een your vehicle and other
vehicles.
Be careful not to severely impact the radar sensor
cover.3
WARNING Improper use of ACC wi th LSF can lead to a
crash.
Use ACC with LSF only when driving on
expressways or freeways and in good
weather conditions.
3
WARNING ACC with LSF has limite d braking capability
and may not stop your vehicle in time to
avoid a collision with a vehicle that quickly
stops in front of you.
Always be prepared to apply the brake
pedal if the conditions require. When to use
■ Vehicle speed for ACC with LSF: A vehicle is detected ahead within ACC with LSF
range – ACC with LSF operates at speeds up to 90 mph (145 km/h).
No vehicle is detected within ACC with LSF range – ACC with LSF operates at the
speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) or above.
