gearbox known as COMFORT-MATIC
that has two operating modes:

The gearbox consists of a traditional
manual transmission with a leverA fig.

controlled electro-hydraulic device has
been added to automatically control the
clutch and gear the engagement.
CONTROL LEVER
The control leverAfig. 127 on the
central tunnel is of the multi-stable
floating type, in other words it has three
stable and three unstable positions.
The three stable positions correspond
to neutralN, reverseRand the central
position between the unstable(–)
and(+)fig. 127 and fig. 128 positions.
The unstable positions, in other words
those that are left as soon as the lever
is released, are the positions for
requesting a higher gear(+), requesting
a lower gear(–)and requesting
automatic operating mode(A/M).You can return to manual mode by
moving the lever back to the(A/M)

depending on the vehicle speed, the
engine speed and the intensity with
which the accelerator pedal is pressed,
with the aim of tackling roads with
steep gradients in a smooth and
comfortable manner.If necessary, (for example when
overtaking), after pressing the
accelerator pedal fully, the system shifts
down one or more gears to provide
suitable torque and power for the
acceleration requested by the driver
(this all takes place automatically
whether theUPfunction is on or off).

CRUISE CONTROL

IN BRIEF
This is an electronic driving aid that
allows you todrive at a speed of
above 30 km/h on long and straight
dry roads with few driving changes
(e.g. motorways) at a preset speed
without having to press the
accelerator pedal. It is therefore not
recommended to use this device
on extra-urban roads with traffic. Do
not use the device in town.
Turning the device on
Turn the ring A fig. 131 - fig. 132 to the
ON position or
(depending on the
version).
The Cruise Control cannot be engaged
in 1st or reverse gear. It is advisable
to engage it in 4th or higher gears.
When travelling downhill with the device
engaged, the vehicle speed may
slightly exceed the stored one.When the device is turned on, the
warning light turns on together with
the corresponding message on the
instrument panel.
Storing vehicle speed
Proceed as follows:
turn the ring A fig. 131 - fig. 132 to
the ON position or
(depending
on the version) and press the
accelerator pedal to take the vehicle to
the desired speed;
move the stalk upwards (+) for at
least one second, then release it. The
vehicle speed is now stored and you
can therefore release the accelerator
pedal.
Increasing/reducing the stored
speed
Once the Cruise Control is activated,
you can increase the speed by moving
the lever upwards (+) or decrease it
by moving the lever downwards (-).
Each movement of the stalk will
correspond to a slight reduction in
speed of about 1 km/h, while keeping
the stalk held downwards will decrease
the speed continuously.
Turning the device off
The device can be switched off by the
driver in the following ways:
turning ring nut A to OFF orO
(according to the version);
by switching off the engine;

SPEED BLOCK

The vehicle is equipped with a speed
limitation function that can be set at the
user's request to one of 4 predefined
values: 90, 100, 110, 130 km/h.
To activate/deactivate this function,
contact a Fiat Dealership.
Following the operation, a sticker will be
applied to the windscreen showing the
maximum speed setting.
IMPORTANT The speedometer could
indicate a higher maximum speed than
the effective one, set by the Dealership,
in accordance with the regulations in
force.
PARKING SENSORS
The parking sensors are located in the
rear bumper fig. 134 and serve to
inform the driver, through an
intermittent acoustic signal, about the
presence of obstacles behind the
vehicle.
ACTIVATION
The sensors are automatically activated
when reverse gear is engaged.
As the obstacle behind the vehicle gets
closer to the bumper, the frequency
of the acoustic signal increases.
ACOUSTIC WARNING
When reverse gear is engaged an
intermittent acoustic signal is
automatically activated.
The acoustic warning:
increases as the distance between
the vehicle and the obstacle decreases;
becomes continuous when the
distance between the vehicle and the
obstacle is less than 30 cm and stops
immediately if the distance increases;
it remains constant if the distance
remains unchanged; if this situation
concerns the side sensors, the buzzer
will stop after about 3 seconds to
avoid, for example, warning indications
in the event of manoeuvres along
walls.
If several obstacles are detected by the
sensors, only the nearest one is
considered.
FAULT INDICATIONS
When reverse is engaged, any parking
sensor faults will be indicated by the
warning light on the instrument panel
or by the
icon on the display
and by the message in the multifunction
display (for versions/markets, where
provided)
OPERATION WITH A
TRAILER
Parking sensor operation is
automatically deactivated when the
electric cable plug of the trailer is
inserted into the vehicle tow hook
socket.

speeds. Always keep a slow speed, so
as to promptly brake in the case of

WARNING
27)It is vital, for correct operation, that the
camera is always kept clean and free
from any mud, dirt, snow or ice. Be careful
not to scratch or damage the camera
while cleaning it. Avoid using dry, rough or
hard cloths. The camera must be washed
using clean water, with the addition of
car shampoo if necessary. In washing
stations which use steam or high-pressure
jets, clean the camera quickly, keeping
the nozzle more than 10 cm away from the
sensors. Also, do not apply stickers to
the camera.

recognisable traffic signs: speed limits,
no overtaking signs and signs indicating
the end of such prohibitions.
The camera is fitted behind the internal
rear view mirror. The sensor always
checks the traffic signs indicating the
current speed limit and possible no
overtaking signs.
IMPORTANT The system is designed to
read signs complying with the
specifications of the Vienna convention.

DRIVING STYLE
The main driving styles that affect fuel
consumption are listed below.
Starting
Do not warm up the engine at low or
high revs when the vehicle is stationary;
this causes the engine to warm up
more slowly, thereby increasing fuel
consumption and emissions.
Unnecessary actions
Avoid accelerating when stopped at
traffic lights or before switching off the
engine.Gear selection
In the same way improper use of a high
gear increases consumption, emissions
and engine wear.
Max. speed
Fuel consumption increases
considerably with speed.
Acceleration
Accelerating violently will greatly affect
consumption and emissions:
acceleration should be gradual.
CONDITIONS OF USE
The main usage conditions that
negatively affect fuel consumption are
listed below.
Cold starting
Short journeys and frequent cold starts
do not allow the engine to reach
optimum operating temperature.
Traffic and road conditions
Heavy traffic causes high fuel
consumption. Winding mountain roads
and rough road surfaces also adversely
affect consumption.Stops in traffic
During prolonged hold-ups (e.g. level
crossings) the engine should be
switched off.

Topping for additive Diesel
Emissions AdBlue (UREA)
When refuelling the additive for Diesel
Emissions AdBlue (UREA) with
dispensing gun:
park the vehicle on ground level;
turn off the engine by turning the key
in the OFF position;
open the fuel flap A fig. 137 and
then unscrew and remove the cap C
fig. 137 from the UREA filler;
insert the dispensing gun for topping
up UREA in the filler neck;
immediately stop filling the tank
UREA if it shows one of the cases listed
below:
- if AdBlue is spilled out of the filler
neck, clean up well the area and
proceed to filling up again;
- if during filling the dispensing gun
clicks, it indicates that the UREA tank is
full. Do not proceed with the
replacement, to prevent spillage of
AdBlue (UREA).
When you have finished topping up,
refit the cap C fig. 137 on the UREA
filler by turning it clockwise until it is fully
tightened;
turn the key in the pawl starter in the
ON position (no need to start the
engine);
wait for the warning on the
instrument panel to switch off before
moving the vehicle, the warning light
may stay on for a few seconds to half a
minute. In case of motor start-up and
movement of the vehicle, the warning
light will remain on for a longer period of
time, but there are no problems on the
engine functionality. If topping up is
done with the UREA tank empty, you
have to wait two minutes before
starting the vehicle.
When refuelling the additive for
Diesel Emissions AdBlue (UREA)
with bottle:
park the vehicle on ground level;
turn off the engine by turning the key
in the OFF position;
open the fuel flap A fig. 137 and
then unscrew and remove the cap C
fig. 137 from the UREA filler;
screw the bottle of AdBlue (UREA)
into the filler until it is fully tightened (fig.
138, ref. 1);
press the bottom of the bottle
towards the filler to release the bottle's
safety valve and start topping up (fig.
138 ref. 2);
if the level of AdBlue in the bottle
does not drop while topping up, it
means that you have filled the reservoir,
so pull the bottle towards you to
re-close the bottle's safety valve and
unscrew the bottle from the filler (fig.
138, ref. 3);
after removing the bottle, refit the
cap C fig. 137 on the UREA filler by
turning it clockwise until it is fully
tightened;
