With Audi connect e-tron services l), you can ac­
cess various information or control individual
functions remotely using mob ile dev ices (such as
a smartphone) or a web portal.

Setup
Applies to: vehicles with Audi connect e-tron services
To use Audi connect e-tron services 1), please
note the following:
Requirements
-An authorized Audi dealer must complete a
one-time activation of Audi connect e-tron serv­
i ces for your veh icle before you can reg ister on­
line .
- Then register at etron.audiusa .com . You can
use and manage the Audi connect e-tron serv­
ices there .
- If you require assistance w ith your Aud i connect
e-tron services, please contact an authorized
Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service Facility.
- Your mobile devices must be compatible .
1> The mob ile network service is offered by a serv ice provid­
e r. Yo u can obtain more informa tion abou t your mobile
network provider at an au th or ized Aud i dealer. Connected
dev ices are not always 4G-compatible. Th e ava ilability o f a
high -speed network may be red uced dur ing pea k usage or
b y your location, the reception, and other factors . Ne t­
wo rk coverage ca nnot be guaranteed everywhere. Fo r
mo re info rmation on mobile cove rage, see the Audi con ­

Audi connect e-tron services
Trip data
Applies to: vehicles with Audi connect e-tron services
The Driver Information System collects data un­
der certain conditions and sends it to a server.
When data is stored, you can access values such
as these using the service:
- driving durat ion,
- average speed driven,
- distance driven,
- average electric consumption.
Doors and lights
Applies to: vehicles with Audi connect e-tron services
You can access and disp lay the current status of
the following vehicle data on your mobile devices
without having to be inside the vehicle.
- If the vehicle doors and lids are open/closed,
- Parking lights are on/off.
For additional information on opening and clos­
i ng the doors or for the vehicle lighting, refer to
¢ page 31, Opening and closing or to ¢ page 49,
Exterior lighting.
(D Tips
-If the high-voltage battery is not charged,
the amount of access requests is limited to
15 after switching off the ignition. This
helps conserve the 12 vo lt vehicle battery.
You cannot contro l functions or access in­
formation if the charge leve l of the 12 volt
vehicle battery is too low.
- If at least two minutes have passed after
the last time the ignition was switched off,
you can reset the access counter back to "O" as needed after switch ing the ignit ion on/
off again.

Vehicle status report
Applies to: vehicles with Audi connect e-tron services
You can access various vehicle statuses using the
services, such as:
- high-voltage battery charge level ,
- electric range,
- mileage,
- next inspection.

A WARNING
Do not ignore messages and warning or indi­
cator lights that turn on in the vehicle be­
cause of the information in the status report.

Car Finder
Applies to: vehicles with Audi connect e-tron services
The vehicle collects data under certain conditions
and sends it to a server .
When data is stored, you can access values such
as these us ing the service:
- Vehicle location disp lay,
- Display of one's own location,
- Ro ute to your veh icle.
If your mobile device also has a nav igation func­
tion, you can navigate to your last know n parking
locat ion.
@ Tips
- The new parking location cannot be deter­
mined with this service if the vehicle is
moved after shutt ing the veh icle
off and
wi thout sw itching the ign ition on and
off
again, for example when be ing towed o r if
the vehicle is stolen .
- If the vehicle is moved an d shut
off again
us ing the second key, for example, the new
parking location is t ransmitted to the server
after switching the ignition off .

Charging
Applies to: vehicles with Audi connect e-tron services
You can control and access the hig h-voltage bat ­
tery c harging proc ess r emotely using these serv ­
i ces. You have the following options:
- check the battery charge leve l,
- star t/end t he cha rging process,
- prog ram the charging t imer with/w itho ut cl i-
mate cont rol,
- deactivate/activate the cha rg in g timer .

A WARNING
Only perform charging f unctions on the high­
voltage battery if the vehicle is shut

rect ly, is connected to a suitable socket and if

Temperature control
Applies to: vehicles with Audi connect e-tron services
You can contro l the climate control in your vehi­
cle remotely using these services:
- start/end climate control ,
- program the timer,
- deactivate/activate the timer.

A WARNING
Only perform the climate control functions if
your vehicle was shut
off correct ly and the ig­
n ition is switched off.

Navigation
-Import map updates from the SO card* to your
MMI. You can find additional information on­
li ne at www.audiusa.com/myaudi.
-Map update at an authorized Audi dealer or au ­
thorized Audi Service Facility. This can result in
additional costs.
Online map update
Applies to: vehicles with a navigation system and Audi con­
nect (Infotainment)
Using the online map update, you can update
the map material in your navigation system di­
rectly from your vehicle.

Requirement:
The requirements for Audi connect Infotainment
services must be met
r=> page 190.
You must have a myAudi account and have as­
signed your vehicle to it.
Using your vehicle position, the MMI identifies
regions which you are frequently in. Based on
this, the MMI suggests update packages for
these regions, if they are avai lable .
• Select @Start download c> fig. 192 if the mes­
sage for a new map update appears in the Info­
tainment system display.

ed update package are now displayed in the In­
fotainment system.
Starting the download
-Select and confirm Start download .
-Confirm the security prompt by selecting Start
download
again.
The update packages begin to download and the
status of the down load progress is shown in the
Infotainment system display.
Installation of online map updates
The downloaded map material installs after you
stop your vehicle. The new update packages in­
stall on ly after you switch
off the ign ition. After
restarting the MMI, the Infotainment system dis­
play indicates if the updates installed successful­
ly.
-Confirm the successful update with OK.
The new map material can now be used for navi­
gation.

-Th e amount of available on line map up­
dates in the vehicle is limited. To update
more regions, use the map update via SD
card at www.audiusa.com/myaudi .

The media is started and operated through the
mobile device or the
MMI, depending on the de­
vice being used.
(D Tips
-Check for any connection requests on your
Bluetooth device.
-Multiple Bluetooth audio players can be
connected to the
MMI, but only one mobile
device can be active.
-Bluetooth protocols AVRCP (1.0/1.3/1.4)
and A2DP are supported.
-Note the volume setting on your Bluetooth
device. Audi recommends setting your mo­
bile device to the maximum volume when
using it as a Bluetooth audio player.
-The supported media functions (such as
shuffle) depend on the Bluetooth device be­
ing used.
-For more information on the supported de­

Wi-Fi audio player
Appl ies to: ve hicles with Wi-F i audio playe r
Using the Wi -Fi audio player media source on the
MMI, you can connect and operate your Wi-Fi-ca­
pable media player (such as a smartphone) to
wirelessly play music from your media player
li­
brary. The media player is connected through the
vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot. A UPnP Server opp or an
integrated UPnPIDLNA server on your media
player is required to access your media player
li­
brary.
Requirement: the Wi-Fi function on your media
player must be switched on. The
Audi MMI con­
nect
app or a UPnP server app must be installed
on your media player .
Or: you must be using a
media player with an integrated UPnP/DLNA
server.

-If necessary, select and confirm Wi-Fi turned

the same settings on the wireless media player
that are used for the Wi-Fi hotspot.
-Starting the Wi-Fi audio player: start the Audi
MMI connect
app or a UPnP server app, or set
media permissions on your media player.
Operating the media player: the media player is
operated through the MMI.
-Press the left control button repeatedly until

Folders menu item appears. Select and con­

A WARNING

-As the driver, do not allow usage of the Wi­
Fi hotspot to distract you from driving, as
this could increase the risk of an accident.
-It is only safe to use tablets, laptops, mo­
bile devices and other similar devices when
the vehicle is stationary because, like all
loose objects, they could be thrown around
the inside of the vehicle in a crash and cause
serious injuries. Store these types of devices
securely while driving.
-Do not use any wireless devices on the front
seats within range of the airbags while driv­
ing. Also read and follow the warnings in
c::;, page 2 73, Front airbags.

Media
- To avoid interruptions during playback, de­
activate the power saving function on the
media player or connect it to a charger.
- The loading times for the audio data depend
on the media player used and the number of
files that it contains.
- A maximum of 2,000 entries per directory
are displayed in the MMI.
- Songs downloaded for offline use using mu­
sic streaming services are stored on your mobile device (such as a smartphone) and
may be DRM protected. The Wi-Fi audio
player will not play ORM protected files.
- Contact an authorized Audi dealer or au­ thorized Audi Service Facility for additional
information on the Wi-Fi audio player .

operation of the MMI. Reset your iPod/
iPhone if this happens.
- For important information on operating
your iPod/iPhone, refer to the user guide for
the device. Audi recommends updating the
iPod/iPhone software to the latest version.

interface and supported devices, check the

You can charge the battery on your mobile device
through a USB charging port.
Two USB charging ports* are located at the back
of the center console.

charging port using a suitable USB adapter.
- Disconnecting a mobile device from the charg­
ing port:

The folder structure or track/chapter list is dis­
played . Select a folder, if necessary . Select and

All available playlists from the source and the
smart playlists are displayed. Se lect and confirm
a playlist and then a track.
Smart playlists :
- Last played tracks :

selec ted source are displayed .
-Most played : the most played tracks in these­
lected source are displayed .
-5 stars to 1 star: tracks from the selected
source are displayed accord ing to their r ating.
- Unrated: all files from t he se lected source

confirm a video file.
