The grade C corresponds to a leve l of perform ­
ance which all passenger car tires must meet un­
der the Federa l Motor Vehicle Safety Standard
No.
109. Grades Band A represent higher levels
of performance on the laboratory test wheel than
the minimum required by law.
A WARNING -
The traction grade ass igned to this tire is
based on straight-ahead braking traction
tests, and does not include acce le rat ion, cor­
ne ring, hydroplaning or peak traction charac­
teristics.
A WARNING
Th e temperatu re grade for this tire is estab­
lished for a tire that is properly inflated and
not overloaded. Excessive speed, underinfla­
tion, or excessive loading, either separate ly or
in combination, can cause heat buildup and
possible tire failure.

ed.
Tire pressure monitoring system
(l) General notes
Each t ire, including the spare (if provided),
should be checked monthly when cold and inflat­
ed to the inflation pressure recommended by the
ve hicl e manufacturer on the vehicle placard or
tire in flatio n press ure label. ( If yo ur vehicle has
t ires of a different siz e than the size indicated on
the vehicle placard or tire inflation pressure la­
be l, you should determine the proper tire infla­
tion pressure for those t ires) .
As an added safety feature, your veh icle has been
equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system
(TPMS) that illuminates a low tire pressure te ll­
tale when one or more of your t ires is significant­
ly under-inflated. Accordingly, when the low tire
pressure tellta le illuminates, you should stop and

check your tires as soon as possible, and inflate
them to the proper pressure . Driving on a signifi ­
cant ly under-inflated t ire causes the t ire to over­
heat and can lead to tire fa ilure . Under-inflation
also reduces fue l eff iciency and tire tread life,
and may affect the vehicle's handling and stop ­
ping ability .
Please note that the TPMS is not a substitute for
proper tire maintenance, and it is the dr iver's re­
spons ibility to maintain correct tire pressure,
even if under-inflation has not reached the level
to trigger illumination of the TPMS low tire pres­
su re te lltale .
Your vehicle has also been equipped with a TPMS
malfunction indicator to indicate when the sys­
tem is not operating prope rly . The TPMS mal­
function indicat or is combined with the low tire
pressure telltale. When the system detects a
malfunction, the telltale will flash for approxi ­
mately one minute and then remain continuously
illuminated. This sequence wi ll continue upon
s ub sequent vehicle start-ups as long as the mal­
funct ion exists.
When the malfunction indicator is illuminated,
the system may not be able to detect or signal
l ow tire pressure as intended. TPMS malfunctions
may occur for a variety of reasons, including the
i nstallation of replacement or alternate tires or
wheels on the veh icle that prevent the TPMS
from functioning properly. Always check the
TPMS ma lfunction telltale after replac ing one or
more tires or wheels on you r vehicle to ens ure
that the rep lacement or alternate tires and
whee ls allow the TPMS to continue to function
properly.

or if there is a system malfunction .

Care and cleaning
General information
Regular, proper care helps to maintain your vehi­
cle's value. It can also be a requirement when
submitting warranty claims for corrosion damage
and paint defects on the body.
The required cleaning and care products can be
obtained from an authorized Audi dealer or au­
thorized Service Facility . Read and follow the in­
structions for use on the packaging .
A WARNING
-Using cleaning and care products incorrectly
can be dangerous to your health.
- Always store clean ing and care products out
of reach of children to reduce the r isk of poi­
son ing.
@ For the sake of the environment
- Preferab ly purchase environmenta lly-friend­
l y cleaning products.
- Do not dispose of leftover cleaning and care
products with household trash.
Car washes
The longer that deposits such as insects, bird
droppings, tree sap or road salt remain on the ve­
h icle, the more the surface can be damaged. High
temperatures such as those caused by sunlight
increase the damaging effect.
Before washing, r inse
off heavy deposits with
p lenty of water.
Stubborn deposits such as bird droppings or tree
sap are best removed with plenty of water and a microfiber cloth.
A lso, wash the underside of yo ur vehicle once
road sa lt stops being used for the season .
Pressure washers
When washing your veh icle w ith a pressure wash­
er , al ways fo llow the operating instructions pro­
vided with the press ure washer. This is especially
important in regard to the pressure and spraying
distance. Do not aim the spray directly at the

seals on the side windows, doors, lids or the sun­
roof* or at tires, rubber hoses, insulating materi ­
a l, sensors* or camera lenses* . Keep a distance of
at least 16 in (40 cm).
Do not remove snow and ice with a pressure
washer.
Never use cone nozz les or high pressure nozzles.
The water temperature must not be above 140 °F
(60 °() .
Automatic car washes
Spray off the vehicle before washing.
Make sure that the windows and roof* are closed
and the windshie ld wipers are
off . Follow instruc ­
tions from the car wash operator, especially if
there are accessories attached to your vehicle.
If possible, use car washes that do not have
brushes.
Washing by hand
Clean the vehicl e starting from the top and work­
in g down using a soft sponge or cl eaning br ush.
Use solvent-free cleaning products.
Washing vehicles with matte finish paint by
hand
To avoid damaging the paint when washing, first
remove dust and large part icles from you r vehi ­
cle. Insects, grease spots and fingerprints are
best removed with a special cleaner for matte
finish paint .
Apply t he product using a microfiber cloth. To
avoid damaging th e paint surface, do not use too
much pressure.
R inse the vehicl e thoroughly with wate r. Then
clean using a neutra l shampoo and a soft micro­
f iber cloth .
Rinse the vehicl e thoroughly again and let it air
dry. Remove any water residue using a chamois.

The tire repair is only meant for temporary use.
Change the spare tire as soon as

If the tire is pierced by an object such as a nail,
do not remove the object from the tire.
The tire mobility kit can be used at temperatures
as low as -4 ° F (- 20 °C).

A WARNING
- Please note that the tire mobility kit cannot
be used in all situations, and that it may on­
ly be used temporari ly.
- The tire sealant must not come in contact
with sk in, eyes, or clothes.
- If tire sealant gets in your eyes or on your
sk in, thoroughly rinse the affected area im­
med iately w ith clean water.
- Do not inhale the fumes .
- If you swallow any of the tire sealant, thor-
oughly rinse yo ur mouth immediately and
drink a lot of water. Do not induce vomiting.
Seek medical attention immediately.
- Change your clothes immediate ly if they get
t ire sealant on them.
- If an allergic reaction occurs, seek immedi­
ate medical attention.
- Keep the tire sea lant away from children .

- Note the expiration date on the sealant bot ­
tle . Replace the tire sea lant at a n author­

~ Inflate the tire to between 29 psi (200 kPA)
and 36 psi (250 kPA) and read the pressure on
the gauge.
~ If this tire pressure is not reached, remove the
filler hose. Drive s lowly approximately 33 feet
(10 m) forward or in reverse so that the sealant
can be d istr ibuted in the tire . Pump up the t ire
again ~,&. .
_& WARNING
-Read and follow the manufacture r's safety
precautions on the compresso r and in the
instructions on the bottle of sealant.
- If a t ire pressu re of 29 ps i (200 kPA) cannot
reached after inflating for 6 minutes, then
the tire is too severely damaged . Do not
continue driving .
- If the tire cannot be repaired with the tire sealant, see an authorized Audi dealer or au­
thorized Audi Service Facility for assistance .
(D Tips
Do not operate the compressor for mo re than
six minutes continuously, or it can overheat .
Once the compressor has cooled, you can con­
tinue to use it .
Completing

~ Adhere the sticker that says "max . 50 mph
(max. 80 km/h)" that is provided w ith the t ire
mobility kit within the driver 's field of vision .
~ Stop the vehicle after driving for about 10 m i­
nutes and check the tire pressure.
~ If the t ire pressure is lower tha n 19 ps i (1 30
kPA), then the t ire is too severely damaged. Do
not continue driving .

Pay attention to the following after repairing
the tire:
- Do not drive faster than 50 mph (80 km/h) .
- Avoid hard acceleration, bra king sharply,
and fast cornering .

Replacing a wheel
Preparation
You must complete the preparation before
changing a tire .
~ Read and follow the important safety precau-
tions ~ page 350 .
~ Set the park ing brake .
~ Select the "P" se lector lever position.
~ When tow ing a tra ile r: d isconnect the trailer
from yo ur vehicle.
~ Switch on wheel c hange mode* in the In fotain ­
ment system:
! MENUI button> Vehicle > left
control button >
Ser vic e & check s > Air suspen ·
sion : wheel change .
~ Switch the ignit ion off.
The vehicle jack mode* switches off automatica l­
l y at speeds above 6 mph (10 km/h).
_& WARNING
When us ing the veh icle jack* on a road with a
steep hill or offroad, you must take extra pre­
cautions to prevent the vehicle from rolling .
Use suitable objects to block the front and
bac k of the wheel that is d iagonal from the
wheel with the flat t ire.

Notes on wheel changing
Please read the info rmation c::> page 332 if you
are go ing to use a replaceme nt tir e w hich is dif­
f er ent fro m the tires on your v ehicle.
Afte r you change a t ire:
- Check the tire pressure on the replacement
tire immediately after installation.
- Have the wheel bolt tightening torque
checked with a torque wrench as soon as pos­
sible by your authorized Audi dealer or quali­
fied workshop.
- With steel and alloy wheel rims , the wheel
bolts are correctly tightened at a torque of
100 ft lbs (140 Nm) .
- If you notice that the wheel bolts are corroded
and difficult to turn while changing a tire,
they should be replaced before you check the
tightening torque.

Replace the flat tire with a new one and have
it installed on your vehicle as soon as possi­
ble. Remount the wheel cover.
Until then, drive with extra care and at reduced
speeds.

~ Turn the handwheel counter -clockwise and re-
move it .
~ Remove the collapsible spare tire.
You must inflate the co ll apsible spa re ti re be­
forehand in order to use it.
Inflating
~ Remove the valve cap from the collaps ible
spare tire.
~ T ighten the compressor hose on the collapsible
spare tire va lve.
~ Connect the compressor hose to a vehicle sock­
et and switch it on.
~ Let the compressor run until the specified value
on the tire pressure sticker is reached

~ Screw the valve cap back onto the valve .
Returning to stora ge
~ Remove the valve cap to drain the air.
~ Wait several hours before placing the collapsi­
ble spare t ire in the spare wheel well. Only then
will it fold down completely so that you can
store it securely .
~ Then screw the valve cap back onto the valve .
~ Secure the collapsible spare t ire w ith the hand-
wheel.
~ Fold the cargo floor cove r bac k into p lace.
Snow chains
Using snow chains on the collaps ible spare t ire is
not permitted for techn ica l reasons .
If you have to drive with snow chains and a rear
tire fa ils, mount the collapsible spare tire in
place of a front tire . Install the snow chains on
the fro nt t ire that you removed, and insta ll that
i n p lace of the rear t ire that fa iled .

gencies and dr ive very caref ully, especially if
it is more than six years old.
- T he comp ressor and the hose can become
very hot d uring operat ion which in creases
the risk of burn injuries .

-After insta lling a co llapsib le spare tire, the
tire pressure m ust be checked as quickly as
possible to reduce the r isk of an accident.
- Do not drive faster than SO mph (80 km/h)
with the collapsib le spare tire . Driving faster
than that increases the risk of an acc ident.
- Avoid full-throttle acceleration, heavy brak­ ing, and fast cornering with the collapsible
spare tire, because this increases the risk of
an accident .
- Never drive using more than one collapsible
spare tire, because this increases the risk of
an accident .
- Normal tires or w inter t ires must not be
mounted on the collapsible spare tire r im .
@ Note
The compressor must be switched off after 12
minutes at the most to reduce the risk of
overheating. Let the compressor cool down
for several m inutes before us ing it aga in .
