Cockpit overv iew
~ WARNING
The ro ute calcu lated by the navigation system
is a recommendation for reaching your desti­
nation. Obey traffic lights, stopping restric­
tions, one-way streets, lane change restric­
tions, etc.

An asterisk" *" in front of the street name in­
dicates that the information about this street
or this section of the route is not complete in
the navigation data that the MMI contains.
Obey traffic laws in one-way streets and pe­
destr ian zones.
Time and date display

When you open the drive r's door, the date and
time appear in the display for 30 seconds . When
the ignition is switched on, the time is a lways dis­
played in the status line © regardless of the cur­
rent d isplay.

The head-up disp lay pro jects certain wa rnings or
selected information from the assist sys tems* or
navig ation* on the windsh ield. The display ap­
pears w ith in the driver's field of vision.

Driving
-If physica l limitations prevent you from sit­
t ing 10 in (25 cm) or more from the steer­
ing wheel, check with your authorized Audi
dealer to see if adaptive equ ipment is avail­
able .
-If the steering wheel is aligned with your
face, the supp lemental driver's airbag can­
not prov ide as m uch protection in an acci­
dent. A lways make s ure that the steering
wheel is aligned w ith your che st.
-Always hold the steer ing whee l with your
hands a t the 9 o' clock and 3 o'clock pos i­
t ions to reduce the ris k of person al injury if
the driver 's airbag deploys.
-Never hold the s teer ing whee l at the 1 2
o'clock pos it io n or w ith your ha nds inside
the steering wheel rim or on the steer ing
wheel hub . Holdi ng the steering whee l the
wrong way can cause serious injuries to the hands, arms and head i f the driver's airbag
deploys.
Entry assistance
Easy seat entry makes it easier to enter and exit
the vehicle by adjusting the steering column au­
tomatically.
• In the Infotainment system, select the ! CARI
funct ion b utton > Car systems contro l button >
Vehicle settings > Seats > Drive r's seat > Easy
seat entry > On .
When easy seat entry is switched on, the stee ring
column goes back up into the park position when
the ignition is switched off. After entering the ve­
h icle, the steering co lumn returns to the stored
position once the ignition is sw itched on .

Starting the engine
The ! START ENGINE S T OPI button switches the
ignition on and starts the engine.

Switching the ignition on /off
• To switch t he ign it ion on or off, press the
! S TAR T ENGINE STOPI button . Do not press the
brake pedal while do ing this.
St arting the engine
• Press the brake pedal¢ &_.
• Press the I START ENGINE STOP I button

If the engine does not start immediately, the
start ing procedure stops automat ica lly after a
sho rt time . Repeat the sta rting process .
Start/Stop syst em

A WARNING
To reduce the risk of poison ing, never allow
the eng ine to run in co nfined spaces .

Avoid high engine spee d, full throttle, and
h eavy engine load if the engine has not
reached operat ing temperat ure yet . You could

Setting the time and
date
You can set the clock time manually or using the
CPS .

Time source
GPS
vi: the Time and Date are set by GPS based
on the
Time zone that was se lected manually. Al­
ways remember to set the new
Time zone in the
MMI when the vehicle enters a different time
zone.
Manual : you can set the Time and Date manually
using the respective function . Press the control
knob. Set the
Time or the Date manually by turn­
ing and pressing the control knob .
Automatic daylight saving time*
When daylight sav ing time is sw itched On, the
time is moved forward or back automatically by
one hour when daylight saving time begins or
ends.
Manual daylight saving time
When this function is switched On, an hour is
added to the set
Time.
Time zone
When selecting the appropriate time zone, a
~ sampling of countries in this zone will be listed. ....

Time format
If you select 24h , the clock will display, for ex­
amp le,
13:00. If you select AM/PM , the clock
will display, for example,
1:00 PM.
Date format
If you se lect DD.MM , the date will display, for ex­
amp le,
31 .12 . If you select MM/DD , the date
will display, for example,
12/31.
Adjusting the sound
The sound distribution and volume of the MMI
can be adjusted individually . The settings depend
on vehicle equipment.
