Seats and storage
_&. WARNING
-The luggage c ompartment cover is not a
surface for storin9 objects. Objects placed
on the cover could endanger all vehicle oc­
cupants during sudden braking maneuvers
or in a crash.
- To reduce the risk of accidents, the luggage
compartment cover should never be unse­
cured under any circumstances.
Increasing the size of the vehicle interior
Applies to : vehicles with folding backrests
The rear seat backrests can be folded forward ei­
ther separately* or together.

When secured, the backrest can be locked© us­
ing the mechanical
key¢ page 39. This prevents
access into the luggage compartment from the
vehicle interior. You can only enlarge the luggage
compartment if the backrest is not locked .
_&. WARNING
-The backrest must be securely latched to
ensure the safety belt is protecting the rear
seat positions.
- The backrest must be securely latched so
objects cannot slide forward out of the lug­
gage compartment during sudden braking.
(D Note
- If you move the front seat back when the
rear seat backrest is folded forward, you
could damage the head restraints on the
rear seat.
- Move the rear head restraints down before
folding the rear backrests forward
~ page 74. This is especially true if the Rear
Seat Entertainment (RSE)* is installed, be­
cause it could be damaged.
- Make sure the outer safety belts are not
pinched or damaged when folding the seat
up.

- Several menus can be accessed w ith the
right control button only when the parking
aid is active.
- The settings for volume and automatic acti­
vat ion* are automatically stored and as­
s ig ned to the remote control key being
used.

If a sensor or speaker is faulty, the 94 symbo l
will appear in front of/behind the vehicle in the
Infotainment system d isplay. If a rear sensor is
faulty, only obstacles that are in areas @and @
are shown

Peripheral cameras*
There is a system malfunction if the% symbol
appears and the corresponding area of the dis­
play is shown in black . The camera is not working
i n th is area .
Drive to an authori zed Audi dealer or authori zed
Audi Service Facility immed iately to have the
malfunction corrected .
Trailer hitch
Applies to: vehicles with a rear parking system/park ing sys­
tem plus/ rea rview came ra/pe ripheral cameras and traile r

When the trailer socket is in use, the parking sys­
tem rear se nsors are not activated when you shift
into reverse gear or when yo u press the
p,q~ but­
ton . Thi s resu lts in the following restrict ions .
Rear parking system*
There is no distance warning.

-Functionality is not guaranteed for mobile
devices that do not conform to the USB 2.0
specification.
-USB hubs are not supported.
-Some versions of the iPod such as the iPod
shuffle cannot be connected to the USB
adapter for devices with Apple Dock connec­
tor. Connect these devices using a AUX con­
nector cable.
-Changed content on a mobile device l) that
is connected to the Audi music interface
may not be displayed in the media center.
In this case, reset the
Media settings back
to
Factory settings ¢ page 252.
-Video playback through the Audi music in­
terface is only supported if the connected
device is recognized as a USB storage device
(for example a USB stick) . Apple devices and
MTP devices (such as smartphones) are not
recognized as USB storage devices.
-iPod/iPhone malfunctions also affect the
operation of the MMI. Reset your iPod/
iPhone if this happens.
-Audi recommends updating the iPod/iPhone
software to the latest version. For impor­
tant information on operating your iPod/
iPhone , refer to the user guide for the de­
vice.
-The USB adapter on the Audi music inter ­
face will support iPod touch/iPhone from
the 5th generation or later with the light­
ning connector.
-For more information about the Audi music
interface and supported devices, check the
Audi database for mobile devices at
www.audiusa.com/mp3 or contact an au­
thorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility .

Applies to: vehicles with Rear Seat Entertainment preparation
T he Rear Seat Entertainment preparation in­
cludes cables and a mount for Audi Entertain­
ment mobile in the driver's and front passenger's
seat backrests.
T he suitable Audi Entertainment mobile Rear
Seat Entertainment package is available through
Audi Genuine Accessories .
Using Audi Genuine Accessories is recommended.
Audi has established their reliability, safety and
suitability.
We cannot evaluate or endorse other products in
this way, even if the product is approved by acer­
tified testing agency or government agency .

Only use devices that are approved for the
Rear Seat Entertainment preparation . Unap­
proved devices may cause damage to the vehi­
cle electronics.

Sound settings
The sound distribution and volume of the MMI
can be adjusted individually . The settings depend
on vehicle equipment.

Treble / Bass
You can adjust the Treble and Bass settings by
turning the control knob. The changed settings
only apply fo r the audio source that is act ive at
the time. This allows you to adjust the sound set­
tings for each audio source separately .
Balance/fader (Sound focus)
-Adjusting the sound distribution to the left or
right :
press the control knob. Turn the control
knob to the left or right to the desired position .
-Adjusting the sound distribution to the front
or rear:
press the control knob again. Turn the
contro l knob to the left o r right to the desired
position.
-Adjusting the sound distribution using the
MMI touch* :
move your finger on the MMI
touch control panel in the desired direction.
Sound effects
Select and confirm a Focus sett ing:
-All : all speakers in the vehicle are active (sym­
metr ical sound distribution) .
System settings
-Front: only the speakers in the front of the ve­
hicle are active.
-Rear* : only the speakers in the rear of the vehi-
cle are active .
Select and confirm a
30 effect* setting (surro und
sound):
-Off : the 3D effect is switched off.
-Low : the 3D effect is optimized, for example
for aud io books .
-Medium : the 3D effect is optimized for all sour-
ces.
-High : the 3D effect is at the maximum .
Subwoofer*
Turn the cont rol knob to adjust the subwoofer .
Speed dependent volume control
Turn the control knob to adjust the playback vol­
ume to the noise ins ide the veh icle.
Volume settings
Adjusting the volume
The volume of an audio source or a system mes­
sage (for example, from the voice recognition
system*) can be adjusted directly while the
sound is playing using the On/Off knob.
-Increasing or decreasing the volume : turn the
On/Off knob
(D ~ page 158, fig. 162 to the
r ight or left.
-Muting or pausing: press the On/Off knob
briefly .
Or: turn the On/Off knob to the left un­
til the
symbol @~ page 168 appears. An ac­
tive audio/video source is stopped .
-Unmuting or resuming: press the On/Off knob
briefly .
Or: turn the On/Off knob to the right.
A WARNING ~
To reduce the risk of an accident, adj ust the
volume of the a udio system so that audible
signals from outside the vehicle, such as po­ lice and fire sirens, can be heard easily at all
times.
