The 12-volt sockets can be used for electr ical ac­
cessories . The power usage must not exceed
120 watts.
T here is an additiona l 12 volt socket* located on
the side tr im panel in the luggage compartment.
A WARNING
The sockets and the e lectrical accessories con­
nected to them only function when the igni­
tion is switched on. Incorrect usage can lead
to serious injuries or burns. To reduce the r isk

Storage

-Do not use any breakable beverage contain­
ers (for example, made out of glass or por-

celain). You could be injured by them in the
event of an accident.

Cooled glove compartment

The cooled glove compartment only functions
when the AIC system is switched on.

-To reduce the risk of an accident, never se­
lect the R or P posit ions while driving.
-Do not inadvertent ly press the acce le rator
peda l when the veh icle is stationary. Other­
wise the risk of an accident increases be­
cause the vehicle will start to move immed i­
ately, eve n if the par king brake is set.
@ Tips
For safety reasons , the parking b rake on ly re­
leases automatically when the driver's door is
closed.
Hill descent control

The hill descent control system assists the driver
when driving down hills.
Hill descent control act ivates when the transmis­
sion is in the Dor S posit ion and you press the
brake pedal. The t ransmission automat ically se­
lects a gear that is suitab le for the hill . H ill de­
scent contro l tries to ma inta in the speed ach­
i eved at the time of braking, withi n phys ica l and
techn ica l limita tions. If may st ill be necessary to
a dj ust the speed wi th t he b rake pedal.
H ill descent control switches off once the hill lev­
e ls out o r yo u press the accelerator pedal.
W hen operating the c ruise contro l system*

when the speed is set .
Drivi ng
A WARNING
-Hill descent control cannot overcome physical
limitat io ns, so it may not be able to ma intain
a constant speed under all conditions. Always

Shifting manually (tiptronic mode)

The tiptronic mode allows the driver to shift the
gears manually .

Activating automatically
The parking aid is activated a utomat ica lly at
speeds less than 6 mph (10 km/h) and when ap­
proaching an obstacle from approximately
3.1 feet (95 cm) away. There are audible signals
when approximately 1.6 feet (SO cm) away from the obstacle . If you press the
p,,;A button to switch
the park ing aid off, it can on ly be reactivated au­
tomatically when one of the following conditions
is met :
Parking systems
-The vehicle speed exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h).
- The ignition is switched off and back on again.
- The parking brake is set and then released .
- The selecto r lever must be in the P posit ion (au-
tomatic transmission) .
Segments in the visual display
The segments in front of and behind the veh icle
¢fig. 142 help you to determine the distance be­
tween your vehicle and an obstacle . Th e red
lines* mark the expected direction of travel ac­
cording to the steering angle. A wh ite segment
i ndica tes an identified obstacle tha t is outsid e of
the vehicle's path. Red segments show identified
obstacles that are in your veh icle's path. As your
vehicle comes closer to the obstacle, the seg­
ments move closer to the veh icle. The collision
area has been reached when the next to last seg­
ment is displayed . Obstacles in the collision area,
including those outs ide of the vehicle's path, are
shown in red. Do not continue driving forward or

cense plate bracket. Make sure that the lens for
the rea rview camera

-On ly use the rearview camera to assist you if
it shows a good, clear picture . Fo r example,
the image may be affected by the sun shin­
ing into the lens, dirt on the lens, or if there
is a malfunction .
- Use the rearv iew camera only if the luggage
compartment lid is completely closed . Make
sure any objects you may have mounted on
the luggage compa rtment lid do not b lock
the rea rview camera.
- The camera lens enlarges and distorts the
fie ld of vision . The object appears both a l­
tered and inac cu ra te on the s creen.
- I n ce rtain s ituations, people or objects in
the display appea r closer or farther away:
- For objects that do not touch the ground,
s uch as the bumper of a parked vehicle, a
trailer hitch or the rear of a truck. Do not use the orientation lines in this case .
- If driven from a level surface onto an in­ cline, or a downward slope .
- If driven toward protruding objects.
- If the vehicle is carrying too much load in
the rear.

I n fotainment display show the vehicle path
based on the steering whee l ang le . The
front of the vehicle swings out more than

interface in order to operate them through the
MMI and charge the battery.

ces that have an integrated USB connector

can occur inside vehi cles can damage mobile
devices and/or impair their performance.
Never leave mobi le dev ices in the vehicle in
extreme ly high or low temperat ures.

- When you switch the ignition off, the USB
ports are still supplied with power until the
energy management intervenes.
- Do not use an additional adapter or USB ex­
tension cable to connect mobile devices to
the Audi music interface that already have a
cable or that must be connected with a USB
adapter

functionality.
-You can purchase the AUX connector cable
from an authorized Audi dealer or at spe­
cialty stores .
