During driving, wiper speed is
reduced automatically when the
vehicle is at a standstill. As soon as

desired wipe interval.
Automatic wiping with rain sensor
Wiper lever in position AUTO or P.
The rain sensor detects the amount of
water on the windscreen and
automatically regulates the frequency
of the windscreen wiper.
Automatic wiping will need to be
reselected whenever the ignition has
been switched off.
Adjustable sensitivity of the rain
sensor
Turn the adjuster wheel to adjust the
sensitivity.
The rain sensor is located on the
windscreen. Keep the sensor area
free from dust, dirt and ice.

Power outlets
A 12 V power outlet is located on the
instrument panel. Fold the cover
upwards.
Depending on vehicle, an additional
outlet may be located in the rear of the
vehicle.
A further additional outlet may be
located alongside the outer edge of
the bench seat.
Connecting electrical accessories while the engine is off will discharge
the vehicle battery. Do not exceed the
maximum power consumption of

To avoid the risk of fire, if multiple
power outlets are used
simultaneously, the total power
consumption of connected
accessories must not exceed
180 W.
With ignition off the power outlet may
be deactivated.
Additionally, the power outlet may be
deactivated in case of low battery

electromagnetic compatibility
requirements laid down in

Instrument cluster
In some versions, the needles of the
instruments briefly rotate to the end
position when the ignition is switched on.
Speedometer
Indicates vehicle speed.
Speed limiter Maximum speed may be restricted by
a speed limiter. As a visible indication
of this, a warning label is located on
the instrument panel.
A warning chime will sound for
10 seconds every 40 seconds if the
vehicle briefly exceeds the set limit.
Note
Under certain conditions (e.g. steep
inclines), the vehicle speed may
exceed the set limit.

Displays the recorded distance.
Trip odometer The trip odometer appears below the
odometer in the Driver Information
Centre and displays the distance
travelled since the last reset.
To reset, with the trip odometer
displayed, press and hold button on
end of wiper lever for a few seconds
with the ignition on. The display will
flash and the value will reset to zero.

Tachometer
Displays the engine speed.
Drive in a low engine speed range for each gear as much as possible.
Caution
If the needle is in the yellow
warning zone, the maximum
permitted engine speed is
exceeded. Engine at risk.
Fuel gauge
Displays fuel level in the tank.
The arrow indicates the vehicle side
where the fuel filler flap is located.
Control indicator Y also illuminates in
instrument cluster 3 94 when fuel
level is low (range of approx. 50 km):
refuel immediately 3 161.
Never run the tank dry.

To ensure the fuel level is displayed
correctly, the ignition must be
switched off before refuelling. Avoid
minor fuel top-ups (e.g. less than
5 l) to ensure accurate readings.
Because of the fuel remaining in the
tank, the top-up quantity may be less
than the specified tank capacity.
AdBlue level indicator
The current AdBlue percentage
remaining can be shown in the Driver
Information Centre 3 103.
Press button on end of wiper lever
repeatedly until the 'AdBlue
percentage remaining' menu is
displayed.
Level warnings
If the AdBlue level falls below a
certain value, a level warning will be
displayed in the Driver Information
Centre 3 103. Additionally, control
indicator Y 3 101 illuminates
continuously together with a warning
chime.
Refill the AdBlue tank as soon as
possible.

Fuel economy gauge
Depending on version, the fuel
economy gauge (or 'driving style
indicator') provides an instantaneous
calculation of fuel efficiency based on
current driving style.
The gauge uses colours to indicate
current fuel efficiency:
Green:best fuel economy is being achievedYellow:driving style too
aggressiveOrange:least efficient fuel
economy

Depending on version, the fuel
economy gauge (or 'driving style
indicator') can be disabled via the
Infotainment system. Refer to
Infotainment manual for further
information.
Service display When the ignition is switched on, theremaining distance before the next
service is due may be shown briefly in
the Driver Information Centre. Based
on driving conditions, the interval at
which a service will be indicated can
vary considerably.
The 'distance before service' display
can also be shown by pressing button on end of wiper lever for approx.
5 seconds.
When the remaining distance before
the next service is less than
1500 km or one month, a message
appears in the Driver Information
Centre.When the distance reaches 0 km or
the service date is due, control
indicator j illuminates in the
instrument cluster and the Driver
Information Centre respectively, and
a corresponding message appears in the Driver Information Centre.
The vehicle needs a service. Seek the assistance of a workshop.
Resetting the service display After a service, the service display
must be reset:
Select the 'distance before service'
display in the Driver Information
Centre by pressing button repeatedly
on the end of the wiper lever, then
press and hold button for approx.
10 seconds until the 'distance before
service' is displayed continuously, i.e. the display no longer flashes.
On some vehicles, it may be
necessary to press and hold the
button twice. In this event, proceed as follows:
After selecting the 'distance before
service' display, press and hold
button for approx. 10 seconds until
the 'distance before service' flashes inthe display. Then press and hold
button again for approx. 10 seconds
to reset the service interval.
If control indicator j does not
extinguish from the instrument
cluster, drive a minimum of 15 km then switch off ignition for at least
1 minute before repeating procedure.

Control indicators
The control indicators described are
not present in all vehicles. The
description applies to all instrument
versions.
Depending on the equipment the
position of the control indicators may
vary.
When the ignition is switched on,
most control indicators will illuminate
briefly as a functionality test.
The control indicator colours mean:red:danger, important reminderyellow:warning, information, faultgreen:confirmation of activation

Seat belt reminder
X illuminates or flashes red.
If the seat belt is unfastened, control
indicator X will flash when vehicle
speed exceeds approx. 16 km/h. A warning chime also sounds for up to
two minutes.
If the seat belt is fastened, the
indicator light extinguishes.
Note
Heavy objects on the front seats
may cause control indicator X to
illuminate. Remove the object from
the seat or fasten the seat belt.9 Warning
Fasten seat belt before each trip.
In the event of an accident, people
not wearing seat belts endanger their fellow occupants and
themselves.

Airbag and belt tensioners
v illuminates yellow.
Illuminates briefly when the ignition is switched on.
If it does not illuminate or illuminates
whilst driving, there is a fault in the
belt tensioner or the airbag system.
The airbags and belt tensioners may
fail to trigger in the event of an
accident.
Deployment of the belt tensioners or airbags is indicated by continuous
illumination of v.9 Warning

The front passenger airbag is

failure. The status of the system is not discernible, therefore no person is
permitted to occupy the front
