NOTICEECB02050If the voltage display indicates “LO” or
“HI”, there may be trouble with the battery
charging circuit or the battery may be
faulty. If this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer
check or repair the vehicle. Coolant temperature displayThis shows the coolant temperature from 0
°C (32 °F) to 128 °C (263 °F) in 1 °C (1 °F) in-
crements. When the coolant temperature isbelow 0 °C (32 °F), “LO” will be displayed.
When the coolant temperature is between
122 °C (252 °F) and 128 °C (263 °F), the cool-
ant temperature display will flash. In this case,
stop the vehicle in a safe place and let it idle
for 10 minutes. If the message “HI” flashes,
stop the engine and let it cool. (See page
8-67.)
TIP
The coolant temperature display can be set
to “°C” or “°F”. To switch the temperature
units, turn the key to “ ” (off), then hold
the “RESET” button pushed and turn the
key to “ ” (on).
 The coolant temperature varies with chang-
es in the weather and engine load.

EXTERNAL: Flush with water.
INTERNAL: Drink large quantities of water
or milk. Follow with milk of magnesia,
beaten egg, or vegetable oil. Get prompt
medical attention.
EYES: Flush with water for 15 minutes and
get prompt medical attention.

Ventilate when charging or using in a
closed space. Keep batteries away from
sparks, flames, cigarettes, or other sourc-
es of ignition. To remove the battery1. Turn the key to “ ” (off).
2. Remove panel A. (See page 8-10.) 3. Remove the battery holding plate by re-
moving the bolts.
4. Disconnect the negative battery lead first, then the positive battery lead by remov-
ing their bolt. NOTICE: When removing
the battery, the main switch must be
off, and the negative lead must be dis-
connected before the positive lead.
