3This ABS has a test mode which
allows the owner to experience
the pulsation at the brake lever or
brake pedal when the ABS is op-
erating. However, special tools are
required, so please consult your
Yamaha dealer.

sensor or wheel sensor rotor; other-
wise, improper performance of the
ABS will result.

Fuel tank cap
To remove the fuel tank cap
1. Open the fuel tank cap lock cover.
2. Insert the key into the lock and
turn it 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
The lock will be released and the
fuel tank cap can be removed.
To install the fuel tank cap
1. Push the fuel tank cap into posi-
tion with the key inserted in the
lock.
2. Turn the key clockwise to the orig-
inal position, and then remove it.
3. Close the lock cover.
TIP
The fuel tank cap cannot be installed
unless the key is in the lock. In addi-
tion, the key cannot be removed if the
cap is not properly installed and
locked.
WARNING
EWA11142
Make sure that the fuel tank cap is
properly installed before riding.
Leaking fuel is a fire hazard.

This model is equipped with a lean an-
gle sensor to stop the engine in case of
a turnover. In this case, the multi-func-
tion display indicates error code 30,
but this is not a malfunction. Turn the
the error code. Failing to do so will pre-
vent the engine from starting even
though the engine will crank when
pushing the start switch.

Vehicle data recording
This model’s ECU stores certain vehi-
cle data to assist in the diagnosis of
malfunctions and for research, statisti-
cal analysis and development purpos-
es.
Although the sensors and recorded
data will vary by model, the main data
points are: Vehicle status and engine perfor-
mance data
Fuel-injection and emission-relat-
ed data
This data will be uploaded only when a
special Yamaha diagnostic tool is at-
tached to the vehicle, such as when
maintenance checks or service proce-
dures are performed.
Vehicle data uploaded will be handled
appropriately according to the follow-
ing Privacy Policy.
Privacy Policy
Yamaha will not disclose this data to a third party except in the following cas-
es. In addition, Yamaha may provide
vehicle data to a contractor in order to
outsource services related to the han-
dling of vehicle data. Even in this case,
Yamaha will require the contractor to properly handle the vehicle data we
provided and Yamaha will appropriate-
