The multi-function meter unit is
equipped with the following: speedometer
 tachometer
 clock
 fuel meter
 eco indicator
 transmission gear display
 multi-function display

brightness control mode or when
displaying the clock, the key must
be turned to “ON” before you can
use the left and right set buttons to
adjust the multi-function meter.
 For the UK: To switch between ki-
lometers and miles, press the left
set button for three seconds.Speed ometer
The speedometer shows the vehicle’s
traveling speed. Tachometer
The tachometer allows the rider to
monitor the engine speed and keep it
within the ideal power range.

Clock
The clock uses a 12-hour time system.
When the main switch is not in the
“ON” position, the clock can be viewed
for 10 seconds by pushing the left set
button.
To set the clock
1. Turn the key to “ON”.
2. Push the left set button and right
set button together for two sec-
onds. The hour digits will start
flashing.
3. Use the right set button to set the hours.
4. Push the left set button, and the minute digits will start flashing. 5. Use the right set button to set the
minutes.
6. Push the left set button and then release it to start the clock.
Fuel meter
The fuel meter indicates the amount of
fuel in the fuel tank. The segments of
the fuel meter disappear from “F” (full)
towards “E” (empty) as the fuel level
decreases. When the last segment of
the fuel meter starts flashing, refuel as
soon as possible.
TIPThe fuel meter is equipped with a self-
diagnosis function. If a problem is de-
tected in the fuel meter electrical cir- cuit, the fuel meter will flash
repeatedly. If this occurs, have a
Yamaha dealer check the vehicle.
Eco in
dicator
The eco indicator comes on when the
vehicle is being operated in an environ-
mentally friendly, fuel-efficient manner.
The indicator goes off when the vehicle
is stopped.TIPConsider the following tips to reduce
fuel consumption:  Avoid high engine speeds during
acceleration.
 Travel at a constant speed.

Fuel tank capTo open the fuel tank cap
Open the fuel tank cap lock cover, in-
sert the key into the lock, and then turn
it 1/4 turn clockwise. The lock will be
released and the fuel tank cap can be
opened.
To close the fuel tank cap
1. Push the fuel tank cap into posi- tion with the key inserted in the
lock.
2. Turn the key counterclockwise to the original position, remove it,
and then close the lock cover.
TIPThe fuel tank cap cannot be closed un-
less the key is in the lock. In addition,
the key cannot be removed if the cap is
not properly closed and locked.

the tank.

risk of injury when refuelin g, follow
these instructions.1. Before refueling, turn off the en- gine and be sure that no one is sit-
ting on the vehicle. Never refuel
while smoking, or while in the vi-
cinity of sparks, open flames, or
other sources of ignition such as
the pilot lights of water heaters
and clothes dryers.
2. Do not overfill the fuel tank. When refueling, be sure to insert the
pump nozzle into the fuel tank filler
hole. Stop filling when the fuel
reaches the bottom of the filler
tube. Because fuel expands when
it heats up, heat from the engine or
the sun can cause fuel to spill out
of the fuel tank.

tem has cooled down before

heat.

ti ghten the screw, otherwise the
lens may break.

Do not remove the ra diator cap when the en gine an d ra diator are hot. Scal din g hot flui d an d steam may be
b lown out un der pressure, which coul d cause serious injury. Be sure to wait until the en gine has coole d.
 After removin g the ra diator cap retainin g b olt, place a thick ra g, like a towel, over the ra diator cap, an d then
slowly rotate the cap counterclockwise to the detent to allow any resid ual pressure to escape. When the hiss-
in g soun d has stopped , press down on the cap while turnin g it counterclockwise, an d then remove the cap.TIPIf coolant is not available, tap water can be temporarily used instead, provided that it is changed to the recommended cool-
ant as soon as possible.
Wait until the
engine has cooled.
Check the coolant level in the
reservoir and radiator.
The coolant level
