Resetting user data when thevehicle changes owners
When the vehicle changes owners, all user set-tings should be reset to the factory defaults.
When the vehicle changes owners, it is essentialto reset all user data and system settings to theirfactory defaults, including Volvo On Call.

Ambient temperature sensor
The ambient temperature sensor displays thetemperature outside the vehicle in the instrumentpanel.

NOTE
When the ambient temperature is between23° and 36 °F (–5° and +2 °C), a snowflakesymbol will be displayed next to the tempera-ture. This symbol serves as a warning for pos-sible slippery road surfaces. Please note thatthis symbol does not indicate a fault with yourvehicle.
At low speeds or when the vehicle is not mov-ing, the temperature readings may be slightlyhigher than the actual ambient temperature.

3. Select massage settings by tapping the cen-ter display or by moving the cursor up/downusing the multifunction control's upper/lowerbuttons. Change a setting in the selectedfunction by tapping the arrows on the centerdisplay or by using the multifunction control'sfront/rear buttons.
Massage settings
The following massage settings are available:
•On/Off.
•Program 1-5: There are 5 preset massageprograms. Select Swell, Tread, Advanced,Lumbar or Shoulder.
•Intensity: Select Low, Normal or High.
•Speed: Select Slow, Normal or Fast.
Restarting the massage function
Massage restart button in the center display
The massage function switches off automaticallyafter 20 minutes and must be restarted manuallyfor continued use.
Tap Restart in the center display to restart theselected massage program.
Adjusting the side bolsters in the front
seats *
The side bolsters in the front seat backrests canbe inflated/deflated to adjust the amount of sup-port provided.

1. Activate the multifunction control on the sideof the seat by moving it up/down. The seatsettings view will appear in the center dis-play.
2.Select Side bolsters in the seat settingsview.
•Tap the front button to increase bolstersupport.

Editing a driver profile
The driver profiles can be edited to e.g., changetheir names or lock a profile.
All types of changes in driver profiles are made
from the center display's Top view: Settings
SystemDriver Profile.
Changing a profile's name
Changing a driver profile's name is done from theDriver Profile window:
1.Tap Edit Profile.
>A menu will open in which the profile canbe edited.
2.Tap the Profile Name box.
>A keyboard will be displayed and can be
used to change the name. Tap toclose the keyboard.
3.Save the changes by tapping Back/Close.
>The name has now been changed.
Locking/unlocking a driver profile
In some cases, it may be desirable to not savecertain settings in the active driver profile. Forthis reason, the profile can be locked. To lock/unlock a profile from the Driver Profile window:
1.Tap Edit Profile.
>A menu will open in which the profile canbe edited.
2.Tap Protect My Profile to lock/unlock theprofile.
3.Save the change by tapping Back/Close.
>When a profile is locked, settings that arechanged in the vehicle will not be savedautomatically in the profile and will have tosaved manually by tapping Savechanges. However, when the profile isunlocked, the changes will be saved auto-matically.
Resetting driver profile changes
Settings that have been changed and saved inone or more driver profiles can be reset.
NOTE
Global Reset is only possible when the vehi-cle is stationary.

Linking a remote key to a driverprofile
A remote key can be linked to a driver profile,which means that all of the settings stored in thedriver profile will apply each time that particularremote key is used with the vehicle.
A remote key is not initially linked to a specificdriver profile. When the key is used to unlock thevehicle/start the engine for the first time, theGuest profile will be used.
A driver profile can be selected manually eachtime the vehicle is unlocked/started without aremote key being linked to that profile. When thevehicle is started, the most recently selecteddriver profile will be activated. If the key has previ-ously been linked to a driver profile, it is not nec-essary to manually select a profile when that par-ticular key is used.
Linking a remote key to a driver profile
for the first time
Select a profile to link to the remote key (if thatprofile is not already active).
1. Pull down the center display's Top view andtap Settings.
2.Tap SystemDriver Profile.
3. Tap the profile to be linked to the remotekey. The Guest profile cannot be linked to aremote key.
4.Open Top view in the center display and tap
SettingsSystemDriver ProfileEdit Profile.
5.Select Connect key to link the selected pro-file to the remote key currently being used. Aprofile can only be linked to the remote keythat is currently being used. If there are sev-eral keys in the vehicle at the same time,More than one key is found, put the keyyou want to connect on backup readerwill be displayed.

6.Tap OK to confirm.
>The key currently in use will remain linkedto the selected driver profile as long asthe Connect key box is not deselected.

Preconditioning timer
The timer can be set to start preconditioning at apredetermined time.
The timer can store up to 8 preset times for:
•A time on a particular date
•A time on one or more days of the week, withor without the repeat function.
NOTE
Full preconditioning is only possible when thevehicle's charging cable is connected.
In other cases, the passenger compartmentcan be cooled for 3 minutes in warm weather.This function is started from the Parkingclimate tab in the center display's Climateview.

Setting the parking climate(preconditioning) timer
The parking climate (preconditioning) timer canbe activated or deactivated at any time. How-ever, the vehicle's changing cable must beconnected.

If the remote key is not close enough to the tail-gate, automatic locking/unlocking/opening/clos-ing will not be possible. Three short audible sig-nals will sound.
Interrupting opening/closing
–This can be done in five ways:
•Press the button on the lighting panel
•Press the button on the remote key
•Press either of the buttons on the loweredge of the tailgate
•Press lightly on the rubber-covered buttonunder the tailgate's outside handle
•Move your foot under a sensor beneaththe rear bumper*
>The tailgate will stop moving
Programming the tailgate's maximum
opening angle
The tailgate's maximum opening angle can beprogrammed, for example, if the tailgate has to beopened in a garage with a low ceiling.
Programming the opening angle:
–Open the tailgate manually to the desiredangle and press and hold the closing buttonon the tailgate's lower edge for at least 3seconds. Release the tailgate.
>Two audible signals will sound to indicatethat the selected opening angle has beenstored.
Erasing tailgate programming
–Open the tailgate manually to its highestposition and press and hold the closing but-ton on the tailgate's lower edge for at least 3seconds. Release the tailgate.
>Two audible signals will sound to indicatethat the programmed opening angle hasbeen erased.
NOTE
If the tailgate has been opened and closedcontinuously too long, the automatic functionwill be deactivated to avoid overloading theelectrical system. The automatic function canbe used again after approximately 2 minutes.
If the vehicle's battery has been discharged ordisconnected, or if the tailgate has been openfor more than 24 hours, the tailgate must beopened and closed once manually to resetthe system.
Pinch protection
If the tailgate is obstructed when being opened/closed, a pinch protection mechanism is acti-vated.
•While opening: the tailgate will stop movingand an audible signal will sound.
•While closing: the tailgate will stop andreturn to the currently programmed maximumopening position. An audible signal willsound.
WARNING
Pay attention to the risk of injury when open-ing/ closing the tailgate. Before opening/closing: Make sure that no one is in the pathof the tailgate as an injury could occur.

Distance Alert*
Distance Alert is a function that alerts the driverif the time interval to the vehicle ahead is tooshort.
Distance Alert is active at speeds above approxi-mately 20 mph (30 km/h) and only reacts to avehicle ahead that is driving in the same direc-tion. No information is provided for vehicles driv-ing toward you, moving very slowly, or at a stand-still.
Warning light (generic illustration)
A warning light in the windshield glows steadily ifyour vehicle is closer to the one ahead than theset time interval.
NOTE
Strong sunlight, reflections, extreme light con-trasts, the use of sunglasses, or if the driver isnot looking straight ahead may make the vis-ual warning signal in the windshield difficult tosee.
NOTE
Distance Alert only monitors distance to thevehicle ahead while Adaptive Cruise Control isin standby mode or off.
WARNING
Distance Alert only indicates the distance tothe vehicle ahead. It does not affect thespeed of your vehicle.
Head-up-display *

In vehicle is equipped with the head-up display*,the symbol in the windshield will only appear ifthe distance to the vehicle ahead is shorter thanthe preset value. However, the Show DriverSupport In Head-Up Display function has tobe activated in the Settings menu. See the article"Head-up display" for additional information.
