On-board owner's manual The owner's manual can be displayed on the center console screen and you can carry outsearches for the information that you require.
To open the owner's manual, press the MY CAR
button on the center console, press OK/MENU
and select
Owner's manual.
For basic information, see "Infotainment - operat- ing the system." The following sections also pro-vide more detailed information.

There are four ways of finding information articles in the on-board owner's manual:

mode for numbers or special characters, or to go view surf history, turn TUNE to one of
the selections (see the explanation in the fol- lowing table) in the list for switching charac- ter entry mode (2) and press OK/MENU.

Pressing a number key on the center console while the text wheel is displayed (see the previ-ous illustration) will display a list of characters.Press the desired key repeatedly to enter thedesired letter and continue to the next letter, etc. To enter a number, press and hold the button.

ShiftlockWhen your vehicle is parked, the gear selector is locked in the P (Park) position. To release the selector from this position, the ignition must be inmode
II (p. 80) or the engine must be running.
Depress the brake pedal, press the button on the front side of the gear selector and move the selector from P (Park).
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)The ABS system performs a brief self-diagnostic test when the engine has been started and driverreleases the brake pedal. Another automatic testmay be performed when the vehicle first reachesa speed of approximately 6 mph (10 km/h). Thebrake pedal will pulsate several times and asound may be audible from the ABS controlmodule. This is normal.
Fuel filler doorPress the button on the light switch panel (seethe illustration in Refueling – opening/closingfuel filler door (p. 276)) when the vehicle is at astandstill to unlock the fuel filler door. It willrelock when closed and there will be an audibleclick.

• Do not export your Volvo to another countrybefore investigating that country's applicablesafety and exhaust emission requirements. Tire inflation – general information
Check tire inflation pressure regularly.

Tire inflationSee the tire inflation decal on the driver's door opening. This decal indicates the designation ofthe factory-mounted tires on your vehicle, as wellas load limits and inflation pressure.
NOTE
• The placards shown indicate inflation pressure for the tires installed on thevehicle at the factory only.
• A certain amount of air seepage from thetires occurs naturally and tire pressurefluctuates with seasonal changes in tem-perature. Always check tire pressure reg-ularly.
•Use a tire gauge to check the tire inflation pressure, including the spare, at least once amonth and before long trips. You are stronglyurged to buy a reliable tire pressure gauge,as automatic service station gauges may beinaccurate.
• Use the recommended cold inflation pres-sure for optimum tire performance and wear.
• Under-inflation or over-inflation may causeuneven treadwear patterns.
WARNING
•
Under-inflation is the most common cause of tire failure and may result insevere tire cracking, tread separation, or"blow-out," with unexpected loss of vehi-cle control and increased risk of injury.
• Under-inflated tires reduce the load car-rying capacity of your vehicle. When weather temperature changes occur, tire inflation pressures also change. A 10-degreetemperature drop causes a corresponding dropof 1 psi (7 kPa) in inflation pressure. Check yourtire pressures frequently and adjust them to theproper pressure, which can be found on the vehi-cle's tire information placard or certification label.
