Odometer and trip meter display
Displays the following items.
Odometer:
Displays the total distance the vehicle has been driven.
Trip meter:
Displays the distance the vehicle has been driven since the meter was last
reset. Trip meters A and B can be used to record and display different dis-
tances independently.
Maintenance required information:
Displays the remaining distance until the engine oil should be changed. If
“-” is displayed before distance, it means oil maintenance is overdue. Have
the engine oil changed by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota autho-
rized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
• Displays the maintenance required information when the engine switch
is turned to the “ON” position (vehicles without smart entry & start sys-
tem) or in IGNITION ON mode (vehicles with smart entry & start sys-
tem).
• Maintenance required information reset method ( P. 621)
Stop & Start system operation time (if equipped):
Displays the total amount of time that the engine has been stopped due to
operation of the Stop & Start system during the time of the current engine
stop.
Instrument cluster light control display (monochrome display):
Displays the meter light control display.
Shift position and shift range display (color display)
Displays the selected shift position or selected shift range. ( P. 244)
Engine coolant temperature gauge
Displays the engine coolant temperature.

■Engine oil consumption
A certain amount of engine oil will be consumed while driving. In the following
situations, oil consumption may increase, and engine oil may need to be
refilled in between oil maintenance intervals.
● When the engine is new, for example directly after purchasing the vehicle or
after replacing the engine
● If low quality oil or oil of an inappropriate viscosity is used
● When driving at high engine speeds or with a heavy load, when towing, or
when driving while accelerating or decelerating frequently
● When leaving the engine idling for a long time, or when driving frequently
through heavy traffic
■ After changing the engine oil
The engine oil maintenance data should be reset. Perform the following pro-
cedures:
Switch the display to the trip meter “A” when the engine is running.
( P. 122)
Turn the engine switch off.
Vehicles without a smart entry & start system:
While pressing the “TRIP” switch ( P. 122), turn the engine switch to the
“ON” position (do not start the engine because the reset mode will be can-
celed). Continue to press and hold the switch until the trip meter displays
“00000”.
Vehicles with a smart entry & start system:
While pressing the “TRIP” switch ( P. 122), turn the engine switch to the
IGNITION ON mode (do not start the engine because the reset mode will
be canceled). Continue to press and hold the switch until the trip meter dis-
plays “00000”.

■ If the following messages are shown (AWD models only)
The system may be an overheated. Reduce the vehicle speed or stop the
vehicle in a safe place.
• “AWD System Overheated 2WD Mode Engaged”
• “AWD System Overheated Switching to 2WD Mode”
■ If “Oil Maintenance Required Soon” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil is scheduled to be changed. (The indicator will
not work properly unless the message has been reset.)
Check the engine oil, and change if necessary. After changing the engine oil,
the message should be reset. ( P. 621)
■ If “Oil Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer.” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil should be changed. (After the engine oil is
changed and the message has been reset.)
Check and change the engine oil, and oil filter by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer. After changing
the engine oil, the message should be reset. ( P. 621)
■ If “A New Key has been Registered Contact Your Dealer for Details” is
shown (vehicles with a smart entry & start system)
This message will be displayed each time the driver's door is opened when
the doors are unlocked from the outside for approximately one week after a
new electronic key has been registered.
If this message is displayed but you have not had a new electronic key regis-
tered, ask any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any
reliable repairer to check if an unknown electronic key (other than those in
your possession) has been registered.
