Keys, doors and windows29AlarmWhen triggered, the alarm hornsounds and the hazard warning lights flash simultaneously. The number
and duration of alarm signals are
stipulated by legislation.
The alarm can be silenced by
pressing any button of the radio
remote control or by switching on the
ignition.
The anti-theft alarm system can be
deactivated only by pressing c or by
switching on the ignition.
A triggered alarm, which has not been interrupted by the driver, will be
indicated by a warning message or a
warning code in the Driver
Information Centre after switching on
the ignition.

Immobiliser The system is part of the ignition
switch and checks whether the
vehicle is allowed to be started with
the key being used. The immobiliser is activated
automatically after the key has been
removed from the ignition switch.
If control indicator d flashes when the
ignition is on, there is a fault in the
system; the engine cannot be started. Switch off the ignition and then repeat
the start attempt.
If control indicator d continues
flashing, attempt to start the engine using the spare key and seek the
assistance of a workshop.
Note
The immobiliser does not lock the
doors. You should always lock the
vehicle after leaving it and switch on the anti-theft alarm system 3 22,
3 28.

Convex shape The convex exterior mirror contains
an aspherical area and reduces blind spots. The shape of the mirror makes
objects appear smaller, which will affect the ability to estimate
distances.
Electric adjustment
Select the relevant exterior mirror by
turning the control to left (L) or right
(R) . Then swivel the control to adjust
the mirror.

runningCaution
Engine lubrication may be
interrupted. This may result in
damage to the engine and/or
locking of the drive wheels.
1. Depress clutch.
2. Select neutral gear, set selector lever to N.
3. Move out of the flow of traffic as
quickly as possible without
impeding other vehicles.
4. Switch off ignition.9 Warning
When the engine is off,
considerably more force is needed
to brake and steer. During an
Autostop the brake servo unit will still be operational.
Do not remove key until vehicle is stationary, otherwise the steeringwheel lock could engage
unexpectedly.
Check oil level before seeking
assistance of a workshop 3 174.

118Instruments and controlsSmartphone app
With the myOpel smartphone app,
some vehicle functions can be
operated remotely.
The following functions are available: ● Honk horn or flash lights.
● Check fuel level and engine oil life.
● Send navigation destination to the vehicle, if equipped with a
built-in navigation system.
● Locate vehicle on a map.
● Manage Wi-Fi settings.
To operate these functions, download the app from Apple's App Store or
Google Play Store.
Remote control
If desired, use any phone to call an
advisor, who can remotely operate
specific vehicle functions. Find the
respective OnStar phone number on
our country-specific website.
The following functions are available: ● Provide information on the vehicle location.
● Honk horn or flash lights.Stolen vehicle assistance
If the vehicle is stolen, report the theft
to the authorities and request OnStar
stolen vehicle assistance. Use any
phone to call an advisor. Find the
respective OnStar phone number on
our country-specific website.
OnStar can provide support in
locating and recovering the vehicle.Theft alert
When the anti-theft alarm system is
triggered, a notification is sent to
OnStar. You are then informed about
this event by text message or email.
On-demand diagnostics
At any time e.g. if the vehicle displays a vehicle message, press Z to
contact an advisor and ask to
complete a real-time diagnostic check
to directly determine the issue.
Depending on the results, the advisor
will provide further support.
Diagnostic report
The vehicle automatically transmits
diagnostic data to OnStar which
sends a monthly email report to you
and your preferred workshop.
Note
The workshop notification function
can be disabled in your account.
The report contains the status of key
operating systems of the vehicle like
engine, transmission, airbags, ABS,
and other major systems. It also
provides information on possible
maintenance items.
To look at the information in greater
detail, select the link within the email and log in to your account.
Destination download
A desired destination can be directly
downloaded to the navigation system.
Press Z to call an advisor and
describe the destination or point of
interest.
The advisor can look up any address or point of interest and directly send
the destination to the built-in
navigation system.
Driving and operating151Fault9Warning
If there is a fault in the ABS, the
wheels may be liable to lock due
to braking that is heavier than
normal. The advantages of ABS are no longer available. During
hard braking, the vehicle can no longer be steered and may
swerve.
Have the cause of the fault remedied
by a workshop.
Parking brake
Electric parking brake
Applying when vehicle is stationary
9 Warning
Pull switch m for approx. one
second, the electric parking brake
operates automatically with an
adequate force. For maximum
force, e.g. parking with trailer or on
inclines, pull switch m twice.
The electric parking brake is
applied when control indicator m
illuminates 3 97.
The electric parking brake can always
be activated, even if the ignition is off.
Do not operate electric parking brake
system too often with engine not
running as this will discharge the
vehicle battery.
Before leaving the vehicle, check the electric parking brake status.
Control indicator m 3 97.
Releasing
Switch on ignition. Keep brake pedal
depressed and then push switch m.
Drive away function
Vehicles with manual transmission:
Depressing the clutch pedal and then
slightly releasing the clutch pedal and
slightly depressing the accelerator
pedal releases the electric parking
Driving and operating161Full function of the LPG system can
only be guaranteed with liquid gas
which complies with the minimum
requirements of DIN EN 589.
Fuel selector
Pressing LPG switches between
petrol and liquid gas operation as
soon as the required parameters (coolant temperature, gas
temperature and minimum engine
speed) have been reached. The
requirements are usually fulfilled after
around 60 seconds (depending on
exterior temperature) and the first firm
press on the accelerator. The LED
1 status shows the current operating
mode.1 off:petrol operation1 flashes:checking conditions
for fuel transition to
liquid gas operation.
Illuminates if
conditions are fulfilled.1 illumi‐
nates:liquid gas operation1 flashes
five times
and extin‐
guishes:liquid gas tank is
empty or failure in
liquid gas system. A
message is displayed
in the Driver
Information Centre.
If the fuel tank is empty, the engine
will not start.
The selected fuel mode is stored and
reactivated at the next ignition cycle if
conditions allow.
As soon as the liquid gas tanks are empty, petrol operation is
automatically engaged until the
ignition is switched off.
When switching automatically
between petrol or gas operation, a
brief delay of engine tractive power
may be noticeable.
Every six months, run the petrol tank down until control indicator i
illuminates, then refuel. This helps
maintain fuel quality and system
function for petrol operation.
Fill the tank completely at regular
intervals to prevent corrosion in the
tank.
Faults and remedies
If gas mode is not possible, check the following:
● Is there enough liquid gas present?
● Is there enough petrol present for
starting?
Due to extreme temperatures in
combination with the gas
composition, it may take slightly
longer before the system switches
from petrol to liquid gas mode.
