properly underthefollowing conditions:
Ð On roads where therearemultiple
parallel lanemarkers; lanemarkers that
are faded ornot painted clearly;yellow
painted lanemarkers; nonstandard lane
markers; orlane markers coveredwith
water, dirt,snow, etc.
Ð On roads where thediscontinued lane
markers arestill detectable.
Ð On roads where therearesharp curves.
Ð On roads where therearesharply con-
trasting objects, suchasshadows,
snow, water, wheelruts,seams orlines remaining
afterroadrepairs. (TheLDW
system coulddetect theseitemsaslane
markers.)
Ð On roads where thetraveling lane
merges orseparates.
Ð When thevehicle's traveling direction
does notalign withthelane marker.
Ð When theroad surface isvery dark due
to weak ambient lightorimpaired tail
lamp.
. When driving onacurved road,warning will
be late onthe outside ofthe curve.

or LDW system willresume automatically .

the BSW and/or LDWsystem willbeturned off
automatically andcannot beremoved bythe automatic

vehicle information display.
Action totake:
If the message appears,parkthevehicle inasafe
place, cleanthecamera unitwith asoft cloth. Thenturn off
and restart theengine.
BSW/LDW MALFUNCTION

they willbeturned offautomatically ,the BSW indicator
(orange) and/orLDWindicator (orange)willilluminate

Action totake:
Stop thevehicle inasafe location, turnoffand restart
the engine. Ifthe BSW indicator (orange)and/orLDW
indicator (orange)continues toilluminate, havethe
BSW and/or LDWsystem checked byaNISSAN
dealer.

BSW indicator (inthe Vehicle information display)
The BSW system operates aboveapproximately 32
km/h (20MPH) .
The BSW lightisshown inthe vehicle information
display ifthe Blind SpotWarning system isactive. To
switch thesystem onoroff, see thedescription laterin
this section.
When thecamera unitdetects vehicles inthe detection
zone, theBlind SpotIndicator lightlocated insidethe
outside mirrorswillilluminate. Ifthe turn signal isthen
activated, thesystem chimes (twice)andtheBlind
Spot Indicator lightflashes toalert thedriver.
The Blind SpotIndicator lightcontinues toflash until
the detected vehicle(s) leavethedetection zone.

The camera unitcan detect vehicles oneither sideof
your vehicle whenpartofanother vehicleiswithin the
detection zoneshown asillustrated.
This detection zonetypically startsfromtheoutside
mirror ofyour vehicle andextends approximately 3m
(10 ft)behind therear bumper, andapproximately 3m
(10 ft)sideways.
The brightness ofthe Blind SpotIndicator lightsis
adjusted automatically dependingonthe brightness of
the ambient light.
A chime sounds ifthe camera unithasalready
detected vehicleswhenthedriver activates theturn
signal. Ifa vehicle comesintothedetection zoneafter
the driver activates theturn signal, thenonlytheBlind
Spot Indicator lightflashes andnochime sounds. (See

message continues toappear, havethe
system checked byaNISSAN dealer.
. Excessive noisewillinterfere withthewarn-
ing chime sound, andthechime maynotbe
heard.
The system maynotfunction properly underthe
following conditions:
. Onroads where therearemultiple parallellane
markers; lanemarkers thatarefaded ornot
painted clearly;yellowpainted lanemarkers;
non-standard lanemarkers; orlane markers
covered withwater, dirt,snow ,etc.
. Onroads where thediscontinued lanemarkers are
still detectable.
. Onroads where therearesharp curves.
. On roads where therearesharply contrasting
objects, suchasshadows, snow,water, wheel
ruts, seams orlines remaining afterroad repairs.
(The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system
could detect theseitemsaslane markers.)
. On roads where thetraveling lanemerges or
separates.
. When thevehicle's travelingdirection doesnot
align withthelane marker.
. When traveling closetothe vehicle infront ofyou,
which obstructs thelane camera unitdetection
range.
. When rain,snow ordirt adheres tothe windshield
in front ofthe lane camera unit.
. When theheadlights arenot bright duetodirt on
the lens orifthe aiming isnot adjusted properly.
. When strong lightenters thelane camera unit.
(For example, thelight directly shinesonthe front of
the vehicle atsunrise orsunset.)
. When asudden changeinbrightness occurs.(For
example, whenthevehicle entersorexits atunnel
or under abridge.)

LDW indicator (inthe Vehicle information display)
The LDW system provides alane departure warning
function whenthevehicle isdriven atspeeds
approximately 60km/h (37MPH) andabove.
When thevehicle approaches eithertheleftorthe right
side ofthe traveling lane,awarning chimewillsound
and theLDW indicator inthe vehicle information
display willblink toalert thedriver. The
warning function willstop when thevehicle returns
inside ofthe lane markers.
The LDW system isnot designed towarn under the
following conditions.
. When youoperate thelane change signaland
change traveling lanesinthe direction ofthe
signal. (TheLDW system willbecome operable
again approximately 2seconds afterthelane
change signalisturned off.)
. When thevehicle speedlowers toless than
approximately 60km/h (37MPH) .
After theabove conditions havefinished andthe
necessary operatingconditions aresatisfied, theLDW
functions willresume.
