Light reminder chime
With the ignition switch placed in the OFF posi-
tion, a chime sounds when the driver’s door is
opened if the headlights or parking lights are on.
Turn the headlight control switch off before leav-
ing the vehicle.
NISSAN Intelligent Key® door buzzer
(if so equipped)
The Intelligent Key door buzzer sounds if any one
of the following improper operations is found.● The ignition switch is not returned to the
LOCK position when locking the doors.
● The Intelligent Key is left inside the vehicle
when locking the doors.
● The Intelligent Key is taken outside the ve-
hicle when operating the vehicle.
● Any doors are not closed securely when
locking the doors.
When the buzzer sounds, be sure to check both
the vehicle and the Intelligent Key. For additional
information, refer to “NISSAN Intelligent Key®” in
the “Pre-driving checks and adjustments” section
of this manual.
Parking brake reminder chime
A chime sounds if the parking brake is set and the
vehicle is driven. The chime will stop if the parking
brake is released or the vehicle speed returns to
zero.
The vehicle information display is located to the
left of the speedometer. It displays such items as:● Vehicle settings
● Trip computer information
● Drive system warnings and settings
● Cruise control system information
● NISSAN Intelligent Key® operation informa-
tion
● Indicators and warnings

Shift to Park
This warning illuminates when the ignition switch
is in the ACC or OFF position and the shift lever
is not in the P (Park) position. Also, a chime
sounds when the ignition switch is in the ACC or
OFF position.
If this warning illuminates, move the shift lever to
the P (Park) position and start the engine.
Push brake and start switch to drive (if so
equipped)
This indicator appears when the shift lever is in
the P (Park) position.
This indicator means that the engine will start by
pushing the ignition switch with the brake pedal
depressed. You can start the engine from any
position of the ignition switch.
Push clutch and start switch to drive (if so
equipped)
This indicator appears when the shift lever is in
the N (Neutral) position.
This indicator means that the engine will start by
pushing the ignition switch with the clutch and
break pedal depressed. You can start the engine
from any position of the ignition switch.Engine start operation for Intelligent Key
system (if I-Key battery level is low)
This indicator appears when the battery of the
Intelligent Key is low and when the Intelligent Key
system and the vehicle are not communicating
normally.
If this appears, touch the ignition switch with the
Intelligent Key while depressing the brake pedal.

and driving” section of this manual.
Release Parking Brake
This warning illuminates in the message area of
the vehicle information display when the parking
brake is set and the vehicle is driven.
Low Fuel
This warning illuminates when the fuel level in the
fuel tank is getting low. Refuel as soon as it is
convenient, preferably before the fuel gauge
reaches 0 (Empty) .
There will be a small re-
serve of fuel in the tank when the fuel
gauge needle reaches 0 (Empty) .
Loose Fuel Cap
This warning appears when the fuel-filler cap is
not tightened correctly after the vehicle has been
refueled. For additional information, refer to “Fuel-filler cap” in the “Pre-driving checks and
adjustments” section of this manual.
Low Oil Pressure: See Owner’s Manual
This warning appears in the message area of the
vehicle information display if low oil pressure is
detected. This gauge is not designed to indicate
low oil level.
The low oil pressure warning is
not designed to indicate a low oil level. Use
the dipstick to check the oil level. For additional
information, refer to “Engine oil” in the “Do-it-
yourself” section of this manual.
Low Washer Fluid
This warning illuminates when the windshield-
washer fluid is at a low level. Add windshield-
washer fluid as necessary. For additional informa-
tion, refer to “Windshield-washer fluid” in the
“Do-it-yourself” section of this manual.
Tire Pressure Low - Add Air
This warning appears when the low tire pressure
warning light in the meter illuminates and low tire
pressure is detected. The warning appears each
time the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position as long as the low tire pressure warning
light remains illuminated. If this warning appears,
stop the vehicle and adjust the tire pressures of
all four tires to the recommended COLD tire
pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Informa-
tion label. For additional information, refer to

Headlight beam select
1To select the high beam function, ensure the
low beams are engaged, and push the lever
forward. The high beam lights come on and
the blue
indicator light illuminates.
2Pull the lever back to return to the low beam.
3Pulling and releasing the lever flashes the
headlight high and low beams on and off.
The low beams need not be engaged for this
function.
Battery saver system
The battery saver system automatically turns off
the ignition after a period of time when the igni-
tion switch is left in the ACC or ON position.
The battery saver system automatically turns off
the following lights after a period of time when the
ignition switch is placed in the OFF position and
the doors are closed:
● Headlights, when the headlight switch is in
the
orposition
● Interior lights, when left in the ON position
CAUTION
Even though the battery saver feature au-
tomatically turns off the headlights after a
period of time, you should turn the head-
light switch to the OFF position when the
engine is not running to avoid discharging
the vehicle battery.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRL)
(Type A) (if so equipped)
The headlights automatically illuminate at 100%
intensity (low beam is used for the Daytime Run-
ning Lights (DRL) system) when the engine is
started with the parking brake released. The DRL
operate with the headlight switch in the OFF
position. When the DRL system is active, the clearance lights, tail lights, front side marker
lights, and rear side marker lights are off. To turn
the DRL system off, turn the switch to the
position.
When the headlight switch is placed in the
position for full illumination when driving at night
there will be no difference in the low beam inten-
sity.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is
started, the DRL do not illuminate. The DRL illu-
minate once the parking brake is released. The
DRL will remain on until the ignition switch is
placed in the OFF position.
It is necessary at dusk to turn the headlight switch
on for interior controls and switches to illuminate,
as those remain off while the switch is in the OFF
position.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRL)
(Type B) (if so equipped)
The headlights automatically illuminate at 100%
intensity (low beam is used for the Daytime Run-
ning Lights (DRL) system) when the engine is
started and the parking brake released. The DRL
operate with the headlight switch in the OFF
position. When the DRL system is active, the

the DRL system off, turn the switch to the
position.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is
started, the DRL do not illuminate. The DRL illu-
minate when the parking brake is released. The
DRL will remain on until the ignition switch is
placed in the OFF position.
It is necessary at dusk to turn the headlight switch
on for interior controls and switches to illuminate,
as those remain off while the switch is in the OFF
position.
WARNING
When the DRL system is active, tail lights
on your vehicle are not on. It is necessary
at dusk to turn on your headlights. Failure
to do so could cause and accident injuring
yourself and others.
LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS
(DRL) (Type C — NISMO) (if so
equipped)
The LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) auto-
matically illuminate at 100% intensity when the
engine is started and the parking brake released.
The LED DRL operate with the headlight switch
in the OFF position. To turn off the LED DRL
system, turn the headlight switch to the
position.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is
started, the LED DRL do not illuminate. The LED
DRL illuminate when the parking brake is re-
leased. The LED DRL will remain on until the
ignition switch is placed in the OFF position.
It is necessary at dusk to turn the headlight switch
on for interior controls and switches to illuminate,
as those remain off while the switch is in the OFF
position.
WARNING
When the LED DRL system is active, tail
lights on your vehicle are not on. It is
necessary at dusk to turn on your head-
lights. Failure to do so could cause an
accident injuring yourself and others.

When pushing the ignition switch to start
the engine The key warning light in the instrument
panel blinks in green. The battery charge is low.
Replace the battery with a new one. For
additional information, refer to “Battery re-
placement” in the “Do-it-yourself” section of
this manual.

WARNING
If there is a sudden loss of tire air pres-
sure, the vehicle will generally move or
pull in the direction of the flat tire. In this
situation, losing control of the vehicle may
cause a collision and result in personal
injury.
To help avoid loss of control:
●Do not rapidly apply the brakes.
● Do not rapidly release the accelerator
pedal.
● Do not rapidly turn the steering wheel.
1. Remain calm and do not overreact.
2. Maintain a firm grip on the steering wheel with both hands and try to hold a straight
course.
3. When appropriate, slowly release the accel- erator pedal to gradually slow the vehicle.
4. Gradually steer the vehicle to a safe location off the road and away from traffic if possible.
5. Lightly apply the brake pedal to gradually stop the vehicle.
6. Turn on the hazard warning flashers and contact a roadside emergency service to
change the tire. For additional information, refer to “Changing a flat tire” in the “In case
of emergency” section of this manual.DRINKING ALCOHOL/DRUGS AND
DRIVING
WARNING
Never drive under the influence of alcohol
or drugs. Alcohol in the bloodstream re-
duces coordination, delays reaction time
and impairs judgement. Driving after
drinking alcohol increases the likelihood
of being involved in an accident injuring
yourself and others. Additionally, if you
are injured in an accident, alcohol can
increase the severity of the injury.
NISSAN is committed to safe driving. However,
you must choose not to drive under the influence
of alcohol. Every year thousands of people are
injured or killed in alcohol-related collisions. Al-
though the local laws vary on what is considered
to be legally intoxicated, the fact is that alcohol
affects all people differently and most people
underestimate the effects of alcohol.
Remember, drinking and driving don’t mix! That is
true for drugs (over-the-counter, prescription)
and illegal drugs, too. Don’t drive if your ability to
operate your vehicle is impaired by alcohol,
drugs, or some other physical condition.
WARNING
Never remove or turn the key to the LOCK
position while driving. The steering wheel
will lock (for models with a steering lock
mechanism) . This may cause the driver to
lose control of the vehicle and could result
in serious vehicle damage or personal
injury.
IGNITION SWITCH (if so equipped)

CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE
TRANSMISSION (CVT) (if so
equipped)
The ignition lock is designed so that the ignition
switch cannot be turned to the LOCK position
until the shift lever is moved to the P (Park)
position.● When moving the ignition switch to the
LOCK position, make sure the shift lever is in
the P (Park) position.
● When removing the key from the ignition
switch, make sure the shift lever is in the P
(Park) position. When the ignition switch cannot be turned to the
LOCK position:
1. Shift the shift lever to the P (Park) position.
2. Turn the ignition switch slightly in the ON direction.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK posi- tion.
4. Remove the key if it is inserted in the ignition switch.
If the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK posi-
tion, the shift lever cannot be moved from the P
(Park) position.
The shift lever can be moved if the ignition
switch is placed in the ON position and the
foot brake pedal is depressed.
There is an OFF position between the
LOCK and ACC positions. The OFF position
is indicated by a “1” on the key cylinder.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION (MT) (if so
equipped)
The ignition switch includes a device that helps
prevent accidental removal of the key while driv-
ing.
The key can only be removed when the ignition
switch is in the LOCK position.
On manual transmission models, to turn the igni-
tion key to the LOCK position from the ACC or
ON position, turn the key to OFF, push the key in,
then turn the key to LOCK.

When the ignition switch is pushed without de-
pressing the brake pedal or the clutch pedal
(MT) , the ignition switch position will illuminate as
follows:
Push center:● Once to change to ACC.
● Two times to change to ON.
● Three times to return to OFF.
The ignition switch will automatically return to the
LOCK position when any door is either opened or
closed with the switch in the OFF position.
The ignition lock is designed so that the ignition
switch position cannot be switched to OFF until
the shift lever is moved to the P (Park) position or
N (Neutral) position (MT) .
When the ignition switch cannot be pushed to-
ward the OFF position, proceed as follows: 1. Move the shift lever into the P (Park) position or N (Neutral) position (MT) .
2. Push the ignition switch. The ignition switch position will change to the ON position.
3. Push the ignition switch again to the OFF position. The shift lever can be moved from the P
(Park) position if the ignition switch is in
the ON position and the brake pedal is
depressed.
If the battery of the vehicle is discharged,
the push-button ignition switch cannot be
moved from the LOCK position.
Some indicators and warnings for operation are
displayed in the meter. For additional information,
refer to “Warning lights, indicator lights and au-
dible reminders” in the “Instruments and con-
trols” section of this manual.
OPERATING RANGE
The Intelligent Key functions can only be used
when the Intelligent Key is within the specified
operating range.
When the Intelligent Key battery is almost dis-
charged or strong radio waves are present near
the operating location, the Intelligent Key sys-
tem’s operating range becomes narrower and
may not function properly.
If the Intelligent Key is within the operating range,
it is possible for anyone, even someone who does
not carry the Intelligent Key, to push the ignition
switch to start the engine.
