(CVT) position indicator (CVT models)
This indicator shows the automatic shift position.
In the manual shift mode, when the transmission
does not shift to the selected gear due to a
transmission protection mode, the CVT position
indicator will blink and a chime will sound.

33. Unavailable: High Cabin Tempera-
ture warning (if so equipped)
This warning appears if the interior temperature
of the vehicle has reached such a high
temperature that the sensor for the Lane
Departure Warning (LDW) or Lane Departure
Prevention (LDP) systems can no longer func-
tion reliably. Once the interior temperature has
reached normal levels, the warning should
disappear.
If the warning continues to display, have the
system checked. It is recommended that you
visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

34. Not Available: Poor Road Conditions

This message appears when the Lane Departure
Prevention (LDP) system becomes unavailable
because the road is slippery. For additional

35. Currently unavailable warning (if so
equipped)
This message appears when the Lane Departure
Prevention (LDP) system becomes unavailable
because the VDC is turned off. For additional
information, refer to “Lane Departure Prevention
(LDP)” (P.5-36) .
36. Unavailable: Front Radar Obstruction
warning (if so equipped)
If the sensor area of the front bumper is covered
with dirt or obstructed, making it impossible to
detect a vehicle ahead, the Forward Emergency
Braking (FEB) system, Forward Emergency
Braking (FEB) with pedestrian detection system
or Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system is
automatically turned off. The Forward Emer-
gency Braking (FEB) system warning light
(orange) will illuminate and the warning message
will appear in the vehicle information display. If
the warning message appears, park the vehicle
in a safe location and turn the engine off.

Check to see if the sensor area of the front
bumper is blocked. If the sensor area of the front
bumper is blocked, remove the blocking materi-
al. Restart the engine. If the warning light
continues to illuminate, have the Forward
Emergency Braking (FEB) system checked. It

for this service.

(RCTA)” (P.5-51) .)
38. Press Brake Pedal warning (for
electronic parking brake equipped mod-
els)
This indicator appears in the following situa-
tions:.The driver tries to release the electronic
parking brake manually without depressing
the brake pedal.
.The vehicle is stopped on a steep hill and
there is a possibility of moving backward,
even if the electronic parking brake is
applied.

are displayed on the upper side of the vehicle
information display.

Outside air temperature (8For8C)
The outside air temperature is displayed in8For
8C in the range of í40 to 1408F( í40 to 608C) .
The outside air temperature mode includes a low
temperature warning feature. If the outside air
temperature is below 378F(38C) , the warning
*3is displayed (if so equipped) .
The outside temperature sensor is located in
front of the radiator. The sensor may be affected
by road or engine heat, wind directions and
other driving conditions. The display may differ
from the actual outside temperature or the
temperature displayed on various signs or bill-
boards.

Your vehicle has two types of security systems,
as follows:
.Vehicle security system
.NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System
The security condition will be shown by the
security indicator light.
VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM
The vehicle security system provides visual and
audio alarm signals if someone opens the doors,
hood (if so equipped) and liftgate when the
system is armed. It is not, however, a motion
detection type system that activates when a
vehicle is moved or when a vibration occurs.
The system helps deter vehicle theft but cannot

Security indicator light
The security indicator light blinks whenever the
ignition switch is placed in the OFF or LOCK
position.
This function indicates the NISSAN Vehicle
Immobilizer System is operational.
If the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System is
malfunctioning, the light will remain on while the
ignition switch is placed in the ON position.
If the light still remains on and/or the
engine will not start, seek service for the
NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System as
soon as possible. Please bring all regis-
tered keys that you have. It is recom-mended you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
WARNING
In freezing temperatures the washer
solution may freeze on the windshield
and obscure your vision which may lead
to an accident. Warm windshield with
the defroster before you wash the
windshield.
CAUTION
.Do not operate the washer continu-
ously for more than 30 seconds.
.Do not operate the washer if the
reservoir tank is empty.
.Do not fill the window washer
reservoir tank with washer fluid
concentrates at full strength. Some
methyl alcohol based washer fluid
concentrates may permanently stain
the grille if spilled while filling the
window washer reservoir tank.
.Pre-mix washer fluid concentrates
with water to the manufacturer’s
recommended levels before pouring
the fluid into the window washer

WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH

High beam assist (if so equipped)
The high beam assist system will operate when
the vehicle is driven at speeds of approximately
19 MPH (30 km/h) and above. If an oncoming
vehicle or leading vehicle appears in front of your
vehicle when the headlight high beam is on, the
headlight will be switched to the low beam
automatically.
Precautions on high beam assist:
WARNING
.The high beam assist system is a
convenience but it is not a substi-
tute for safe driving operation. The
driver should remain alert at all
times, ensure safe driving practices
and switch the high beams and low
beam manually when necessary.
.The high beam or low beam may not
switch automatically under the fol-
lowing conditions. Switch the high
beam and low beam manually.
— During bad weather (rain, fog,
snow, wind, etc.) .
— When a light source similar to a
headlight or tail light is in the
vicinity of the vehicle.— When the headlights of the
oncoming vehicle or the leading
vehicle are turned off, when the
color of the light is affected due
to foreign materials on the
lights, or when the light beam
is out of position.
— When there is a sudden, contin-
uous change in brightness.
— When driving on a road that
passes over rolling hills, or a
road that has level differences.
— When driving on a road with
many curves.
— When a sign or mirror-like sur-
face is reflecting intense light
towards the front of the vehicle.
— When the container, etc. being
towed by a leading vehicle is
reflecting intense light.
— When a headlight on your vehi-
cle is damaged or dirty.
— When the vehicle is leaning at
an angle due to a punctured tire,
being towed, etc..The timing of switching the low
beam and high beam may change
under the following situations.
— The brightness of the headlights
of the oncoming vehicle or lead-
ing vehicle.
— The movement and direction of
the oncoming vehicle and the
leading vehicle.
— When only one light on the
oncoming vehicle or the leading
vehicle is illuminated.
— When the oncoming vehicle or
the leading vehicle is a two-
wheeled vehicle.
— Road conditions (incline, curve,
the road surface, etc.) .
— The number of passengers and
the amount of cargo.

If the ambient image sensor is damaged due to
an accident, it is recommended you contact a
NISSAN dealer.
Battery saver system
.When the headlight switch is in theorposition while the ignition switch is in
the ON position, the lights will automatically
turn off within a period of time after the
ignition switch has been placed in the OFF
position.
.When the headlight switch remains in the
orposition after the lights auto-
matically turn off, the lights will turn on when
the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position.
CAUTION
.When you turn on the headlight
switch again after the lights auto-
matically turn off, the lights will not
turn off automatically. Be sure to
turn the light switch to the OFF
position when you leave the vehicle
for extended periods of time, other-
wise the battery will be discharged.
.Never leave the light switch on
when the engine is not running forextended periods of time even if the
headlights turn off automatically.
Daytime Running Light (DRL) system
The LED portion of the headlights automatically
illuminate at 100% intensity when the engine is
started and the parking brake released. The LED
Daytime Running Light (DRL) operate with the
headlight switch in the OFF position or in the
position. When you turn the headlight
switch to theposition for full illumination,
the LED lights switch from LED DRL to the park
function.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine
is started, the LED DRL do not illuminate. The
LED DRL illuminate when the parking brake is
released. The LED DRL will remain on until the
ignition switch is placed in the OFF position.
It is necessary at dusk to turn the headlight
switch ON for interior controls and switches to
illuminate, as those remain OFF while the switch
is in the OFF position.
WARNING
When the LED DRL system is active, tail
lights on your vehicle are not on. It is
necessary at dusk to turn on yourheadlights. Failure to do so could cause
an accident injuring yourself and
others.

To sound the horn, push the center pad area of
the steering wheel.
WARNING
Do not disassemble the horn. Doing so
could affect proper operation of the
supplemental front air bag system.
Tampering with the supplemental front
air bag system may result in serious
personal injury.

The heated steering wheel system is designed
to operate only when the surface temperature of
the steering wheel is below 688F (208C) .
Push the heated steering wheel switch to warm
the steering wheel after the engine starts. The
indicator light on the switch will illuminate.
If the surface temperature of the steering wheel
is below 688F (208C) , the system will heat the
steering wheel and cycle off and on to maintain a
temperature above 688F (208C) . The indicator
light will remain on as long as the system is on.
Push the switch again to turn the heated
steering wheel system off manually. The indica-
tor light will turn off.NOTE:
If the surface temperature of the steering
wheel is above 688F (208C) when the switch
is turned on, the system will not heat the
steering wheel. This is not a malfunction.

WARNING
Do not use or allow occupants to use
the seat heater if you or the occupants
cannot monitor elevated seat tempera-
tures or have an inability to feel pain in
body parts that contact the seat. Use of
the seat heater by such people could
result in serious injury.
CAUTION
.The battery could run down if the
seat heater is operated while the
engine is not running.
.Do not use the seat heater for
extended periods or when no one
is using the seat.
.Do not put anything on the seat
which insulates heat, such as a
blanket, cushion, seat cover, etc.
Otherwise, the seat may become
overheated.
.Do not place anything hard or heavy
on the seat or pierce it with a pin or
similar object. This may result indamage to the heater.
.Any liquid spilled on the heated seat
should be removed immediately
with a dry cloth.
.When cleaning the seat, never use
gasoline, thinner, or any similar
materials.
.If any malfunctions are found or the
heated seat does not operate, turn
the switch off and have the system
checked. It is recommended you
visit a NISSAN dealer for this ser-
vice.

The seats are warmed by built-in heaters. The
switches located on the center console can be
operated independently of each other.
1. Start the engine.
2. Select heat range.
*1For high-speed heating, push the HI
(High) side of the switch.
*2For low-speed heating, push the LO

illuminate when the heater is on.
3. To turn off the heater, return the switch to
the level position. Make sure the indicator
