WARNING
■When holding a tire with Selectable Color Trim (if equipped)
■Replacing a flat tire
●Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in serious injury:
• Do not try to remove the wheel ornament by hand. Take due care in handling the ornament to avoid unexpected personal injury.
• Do not touch the disc wheels or the area around the brakes immediately after the vehicle has been driven. After the vehicle has been driven the disc wheels and the area around the brakes
will be extremely hot. Touching these area s with hands, feet or other body parts while changing a tire, etc., may result in burns.
●Failure to follow these precautions could cause the wheel nuts to loosen and the tireto fall off, resulting in death or serious injury.
• Never use oil or grease on the wheel bolts or wheel nuts.
Oil and grease may cause the wheel nuts to be excessively tightened, leading to bolt or disc wheel damage. In addition, the oil or grease can cause the wheel nuts to loosen and the wheel may fall off, causing a serious accident.
Remove any oil or grease from the wheel bolts or wheel nuts. • Have the wheel nuts tightened with a torque wrench to 103 N·m (10.5 kgf·m,
76 ft·lbf) as soon as possible after changing wheels. • When installing a tire, only use wheel nuts that have been specifically designed for that wheel.
• If there are any cracks or deformations in the bolt screws, nut threads or bolt holes of the wheel, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer orrepairer, or another duly qualif ied and equipped professional.
• Do not attach a heavily damaged wheel or nament, as it may fly off the wheel while the vehicle is moving.
■Replacing a flat tire for vehicles with power back door
In cases such as when replacing tires, make sure to canceling the power back door sys- tem ( P. 115). Failure to do so may cause the back door to operate unintentionally if the power back door switch is accidentally touched, resulting in hands and fingers
being caught and injured.
Do not hold the tire by the Selectable Color
Trim. Otherwise, the Selectable Color Trim may be damaged or may fall off causing the tireto drop, possibly causing injury.

Firmly tighten each wheel nut two or
three times in the order shown in the
illustration.
Tightening torque:
103 N·m (10.5 kgf·m, 76 ft·lbf)
Vehicles with a full-size spare tire:
Reinstall the wheel ornament.
Stow the flat tire, tire jack and all tools.
■The compact spare tire (vehicles with a compact spare tire)
●The compact spare tire is identified by the label “TEMPORARY USE ONLY” on the
tire sidewall. Use the compact spare tire temporarily, and only in an emergency.
●Make sure to check the tire inflation pressure of the compact spare tire. (P. 737)
■When using the compact spare tire (vehicles with a compact spare tire)
As the compact spare tire is not equipped with a tire pressure warning valve and trans- mitter, low inflation pressure of the spare tire will not be indicated by the tire pressure
warning system. Also, if you replace the compact spare tire after the tire pressure warn- ing light comes on, th e light remains on.
■When the compact spare tire is equipped (vehicles with a compact spare tire)
When driving with the compact spare tire installed, the vehicle height will be different than when driving with standard tires.
■If you have a flat front tire on a road covered with snow or ice (vehicles with a compact
spare tire)
Install the compact spare tire on one of the rear wheels of the vehicle. Perform the follow- ing steps and fit tire chains to the front tires:
Replace a rear tire with the compact spare tire.
Replace the flat front tire with the tire removed from the rear of the vehicle.
Fit tire chains to the front tires.

NOTICE
■Be careful when driving over bumps with the compact spare tire installed on the vehi- cle (vehicles with a compact spare tire)
When driving with the compact spare tire installed, the vehicle height will be different
than when driving with standard tires. Be careful when driving over uneven road sur- faces, etc.
■Driving with tire chains and the compact spare tire (vehicles with a compact spare
tire)
Do not fit tire chains to the compact spare tire. Tire chains may damage the vehicle body and adversely affect driving performance.
■When replacing the tires
When removing or fitting the wheels, tires or the tire pressure warning valve and trans- mitter, contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional as the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter may be dam- aged if not handled correctly.

■Emergency tire puncture repair kit
●The sealant has a limited life span. The expiry date is marked on the bottle. The sealant should be replaced before the expiry da te. Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified an d equipped professional for replacement.
●The sealant stored in the emergency tire puncture repair kit can be used only once to temporarily repair a single tire. If the seal ant has been used and needs to be purchased, contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional. The compressor is reusable.
●The compressor can be used repeatedly.
●The sealant can be used when the outside temperature is from -40 C (-40F) to 60C
(140 F).
●The kit is exclusively designed for size and type of tires originally installed on your vehi- cle. Do not use it for tires that a different size than the original ones, or for any other
purposes.
●If the sealant gets on your clothes, it may stain.
●If the sealant adheres to a wheel or the surface of the vehicle body, the stain may not be
removable if it is not cleaned at once. Immediately wipe away the sealant with a wet cloth.
●During operation of the kit, a loud operatio n noise is produced. This does not indicate a
malfunction.
●Do not use to check or to adjust the tire pressure.
■If the tire is inflated to mo re than the recommended level
Disconnect the hose from the valve.
Disconnect the hose from the valve, remove the air release cap from the hose and then reconnect the hose.
Turn the compressor switch on and wait for several seconds, then turn it off. Check that
the air pressure indicator sh ows the recommended level. (P. 737) If the air pressure is lower than the reco mmended level, turn the compressor switch on again and repeat the inflation procedure un til the recommended pressure is reached.
■After a tire repaired with the emergency tire puncture repair kit
●The tire pressure warning valve and transmitter should be replaced.
●Even if the tire inflation pressure is at the recommended level, the tire pressure warning
light may come on/flash.
Install the air release cap to the end of the
hose and push the protrusion on the air release cap into the valve to let some air out.

■Note for checking the emergency tire puncture repair kit
Check the sealant expiry date occasionally. The expiry date is shown on the bottle. Do not use sealant whose expiry date has already
passed. Otherwise, repairs conducted using th e emergency tire puncture repair kit may not be performed properly.
WARNING
■Caution while driving
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause an accident.
●The emergency tire puncture repair kit is made exclusively for your vehicle. Do not use it on other vehicles.
●Do not use the emergency tire puncture repa ir kit for tires that are a different size than the specified ones or fo r any other purpose. Doing so may cause the tires to not be repaired properly.
■Precautions for use of the sealant
●Ingesting the sealant is hazardous to your health. If you ingest sealant, consume asmuch water as possible, then immediately consult a doctor.
●If sealant gets in eyes or adheres to skin, immediately wash it off with water. If discom- fort persists, consult a doctor.

Stop the engine. Shift the shift lever to P and set the parking brake.
Remove the mud, snow or sand from around the front wheels.
Place wood, stones or some other material under the front wheels to help pro-
vide traction.
Restart the engine.
AWD models: Activate all-wheel drive lock mode. ( P. 421)
Shift the shift lever to D or R and rele ase the parking brake. Then, while exer-
cising caution, depress the accelerator pedal.
■When it is difficult to free the vehicle
If the vehicle becomes stuck
Carry out the following procedures if the tires spin or the vehicle becomes
stuck in mud, dirt or snow:
