8-2. Steps to take in an emergency
The following may indicate a problem with your transmission. Contact any
authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped pro-
fessional or commercial towing service before towing.
●A warning message for the hybrid system is shown on the multi-information
display and the vehicle does not move.
●The vehicle makes an abnormal sound.
If your vehicle needs to be towed
If towing is necessary, we recommend having your vehicle towed by any
authorized Lexus dealer or repairer , or another duly qualified and equipped
professional or commercial towing se rvice, using a wheel-lift type truck or
flatbed truck.
Use a safety chain system for all towing , and abide by all state/provincial and
local laws.

Master warning light
The master warning light also comes on or flashes in order to indicate that a message is currently being displayed on the multi-information display.
Multi-information display
If any of the warning message is shown again after the following actions have
been performed, contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional.

If a warning is shown on the multi-information display, stay calm and perform

Indicates that the windows are not fully closed (with the
power switch off, and the driver’s door open) A buzzer also sounds. Close all the windows.

Indicates that the windows and the moon roof are not fully closed (with the power switch off, and the driver’s
door open) A buzzer also sounds. Close all the windows and the moon roof.
Indicates a malfunction in the brake override system
A buzzer also sounds.  Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
Indicates that engine oil level is low This message may appear if the vehicle is stopped on a
slope. Move the vehicle to a level surface and check to see if the message disappears.A buzzer also sounds.
 Check the level of engine oil, and add if necessary.
Indicates that the hybrid system has overheated This message may be displayed when driving undersevere operating conditions. (For example, when driv-
ing up a long steep hill.) A buzzer also sounds.

Indicates a malfunction in the tire pressure warning sys- tem
 Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn the power switch off then on again.If the tire pressure warning indicator flashes for 1
minute then illuminates, th ere is a malfunction in the system. Have the vehicle inspected by any autho-rized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qual-
ified and equipped professional.
Indicates that the tire position information cannot be rec- ognized Drive for a short while and check if the display
updates. If the radio wave conditions improve, the displaymay return to normal. If the tire pressure is still not
displayed after driving for several minutes, stop the vehicle in a safe place, turn the power switch offthen on again, and start driving.
If the tire pressure is still not displayed even after repeating this process several times, have the vehi-cle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
Maintenance of the hybrid battery (traction battery)
cooling component is required The filter may be clogged, the air intake vent may beblocked or there may be a gap in the duct
 Have maintenance performed on the hybrid battery (traction battery) cooling component by any autho-rized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qual-
ified and equipped professional.
Indicates that the washer fluid level is low  Add washer fluid.
Indicates that remaining fuel is approximately 10 L (2.6 gal., 2.2 Imp. gal.) or less Refuel the vehicle.

Indicates that operation of large electricity consuming systems such as the air conditioning system are sus-
pended  Stop using unnecessary electric components to reduce electricity consumpt ion. Wait a while until
the electric power supply is restored.
Indicates that the EV drive mode is not available*The reason the EV drive mode is not available (the
vehicle is idling, hybrid battery [traction battery] charge is low, speed is higher than the EV drive modeoperating speed range, accelerator pedal is
depressed too much) may be displayed. A buzzer also sounds. Use the EV drive mode when it becomes available.

■Warning messages
The warning message illustrations used are in tended as examples, and may differ from the image that is actually displaye d on the multi-information display.
■Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following situations, the warning message may not be displayed even if vehicle-to- vehicle distance decreases:
●When the speed of the preceding vehicle matches or exceeds your vehicle speed
●When the preceding vehicle is traveling at an extremely slow speed
●Immediately after the cruise control speed was set
●When depressing the accelerator pedal
■The LDA (Lane Departure Alert) lane departure warning function (if equipped)
In the following situations, the warning message will not be displayed even if a lane line is crossed.
●When the vehicle speed deviates from the operating range of the LDA system func-tions
●When the lane lines cannot be recognized
■Conditions that the tire pressure warning system may not function properly

Inflate the tire until the specified air
pressure is reached.
The sealant will be injected and the
pressure will surge and then gradu-
ally decrease.
The air pressure gauge will display
the actual tire inflation pressure
about 1 minute (5 minutes at low
temperature) after the switch is
turned on.
Inflate the tire until the specified air
pressure.
• Turn the compressor switch off and
then check the tire inflation pressure.
Being careful not to over inflate,
check and repeat the inflation pro-
cedure until the specified tire infla-
tion pressure is reached.
• If the tire inflation pressure is still lower than the specified point after inflation
for 35 minutes with the switch on, the ti re is too damaged to be repaired. Turn
the compressor switch off and contact any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
• If the tire inflation pressure exceeds th e specified air pressure, let out some air
to adjust the tire inflation pressure. ( P. 573, 604)
With the compressor switch off, disconne ct the hose from the valve on the tire
and then pull out the power plug from the power outlet socket.
Some sealant may leak wh en the hose is removed.
Install the valve cap onto the valve of the emergency repaired tire.
Attach the air release cap to the end
of the hose.
If the air release cap is not attached, the sealant may leak and the vehicle may
get dirty.
