Turn the power switch off.
Open the fuse box cover.
Engine compartment (type A fuse box)
Remove the engine compart-
ment cover ( P. 493) and push
the tab in and lift the lid off.

ment cover ( P. 493) and push
the tab in and lift the lid off.

Checking and replacing fuses
If any of the electrical components do not operate, a fuse may have
blown. If this happens, check and replace the fuses as necessary.

●Fluid leaks under the vehicle.
(Water dripping from the air conditioning after use is normal.)
●Flat-looking tires or uneven tire wear
●Engine coolant temperature gauge needle continually points higher
than normal.
●Changes in exhaust sound
●Excessive tire squeal when cornering
●Strange noises related to the suspension system
●Pinging or other noises related to the hybrid system
●Engine missing, stumbling or running roughly
●Appreciable loss of power
●Vehicle pulls heavily to one side when braking
●Vehicle pulls heavily to one side when driving on a level road
●Loss of brake effectiveness, spongy feeling, pedal almost touches the
floor
If you think something is wrong
If you notice any of the followin g symptoms, your vehicle probably
needs adjustment or repair. Cont act any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional as soon as
possible.

The following warning indicates the possibility of damage to the vehicle
that may lead to an accident. Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place
and contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qual-
ified and equipped professional.
Failure to investigate the cause of the following warnings may lead to the
system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident. Have the
vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional immediately.
Stop the vehicle immediately.

■Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if vehicle-to-
vehicle distance decreases:
●When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same speed or the
vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle
●When the vehicle ahead is traveling at a very low speed
●Immediately after cruise control speed is set
●At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed
■The LKA (Lane-Keeping Assist) lane de parture warning function (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message will not be displayed even if a lane line is
crossed.
●When the vehicle speed deviates from the operating range of the LKA system
functions
●When the lane lines cannot be recognized
●When the steering wheel is turned as far as necessary to cause the vehicle to
change lanes
■System warning lights
The master warning light does not come on or flash in the following cases. Instead, a
separate system warning light will come on or flash along with the message shown
on the multi-information display.
●Malfunction of the brake system
The brake system warning light (red indicator) comes on. ( P. 555)
●Malfunction of the regenerative brake system, electronically controlled brake sys-
tem or electric parking brake
The brake system warning light (yellow indicator) comes on. ( P. 557)
●Malfunction of the ABS
The ABS warning light comes on. ( P. 556)
●Malfunction of the charging system
The charging system warning light comes on. ( P. 556)
●Indicates that a door or the trunk is not fully closed
The open door warning light comes on. ( P. 558)
●High engine coolant temperature
The needle of the engine coolant temperature gauge enters the red zone.
( P. 611)

Connect the jumper cables according to the following procedure:
Positive (+) battery terminal on your vehicle
Positive (+) battery terminal on the second vehicle
Negative (-) battery terminal on the second vehicle
Negative (-) battery terminal on your vehicle
Start the engine of the second vehicle. Increase the engine speed
slightly and maintain at that level for approximately 5 minutes to
recharge the 12-volt battery of your vehicle.
Open and close any of the doors of your vehicle with the power switch
off.
Maintain the engine speed of the second vehicle and start the hybrid
system of your vehicle by turning the power switch to ON mode.
Make sure the “READY” indicator comes on. If the indicator does not
come on, contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional.
Once the hybrid system has started, remove the jumper cables in the
exact reverse order from which they were connected.
Once the hybrid system starts, have the vehicle inspected at any autho-
rized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped
professional as soon as possible.

●The needle of the engine coolant temperature gauge ( P. 115) enters
the red zone or a loss of hybrid system power is experienced. (For
example, the vehicle speed does not increase.)
●“Hybrid System Overheat” is shown on the multi-information display.
●Steam comes out from under the hood.
■If the needle of the engine cool ant temperature gauge enters the red
zone
Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the air conditioning sys-
tem, and then stop the hybrid system.
If you see steam:
Carefully lift the hood after the steam subsides.
If you do not see steam:
Carefully lift the hood.
After the hybrid system has
cooled down sufficiently,
inspect the hoses and radiator
core (radiator) for any leaks.

Cooling fans
If a large amount of coolant
leaks, immediately contact any
authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or anot her duly quali-
fied and equipped professional.
If your vehicle overheats
The following may indicate that your vehicle is overheating.
