■Operation conditions of each function
●Lane departure alert function
This function operates when all of the following conditions are met.
• LDA is turned on.
• Vehicle speed is approximately 50 km/h (32 mph) or more.
• System recognizes white (yellow) lines.
• Width of traffic lane is approx imately 3 m (9.8 ft.) or more.
• Turn signal lever is not operated.
• Vehicle is driven on a stra ight road or around a gentle curve with a radius of more
than approximately 150 m (492 ft.).
• No system malfunctions are detected. ( P. 554)
●Steering control function
This function operates when all of the follo wing conditions are met in addition to the
operation conditions for the lane departure alert function.
• Setting for Steering Assist in of the multi-information display is set to On. (P.
107)
• Vehicle is not accelerated or decelerated by a fixed amount or more.
• Steering wheel is not operat ed with a steering force level suitable for changing
lanes.
• ABS, VSC, TRC and PCS are not operating.
• TRC or VSC is not turned off.
• Except for Israel: Hands off steering wheel alert is not displayed. ( P. 266)
●Vehicle sway warning
This function operates when all of the following conditions are met.
• Setting for Sway Warning in of the multi-information display is set to On.
( P. 107)
• Vehicle speed is approximately 50 km/h (32 mph) or more.
• Width of traffic lane is approx imately 3 m (9.8 ft.) or more.
• No system malfunctions are detected. ( P. 554)

The Blind Spot Monitor is a system that has 2 functions:
●The BSM (Blind Spot Monitor) function
Assists the driver in making a decision when changing lanes
●The RCTA (Rear Crossing Traffic Alert) function
Assists the driver when backing up
These functions use same sensors.

WARNING
■The ABS does not operate effectively when
●The limits of tire gripping performance have been exceeded (such as excessively
worn tires on a snow covered road).
●The vehicle hydroplanes while driving at high speed on wet or slick roads.
■Stopping distance when the ABS is operat ing may exceed that of normal conditions
The ABS is not designed to shorten the vehicle’s stopping distance. Always maintain a
safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, especially in the following situations:
●When driving on dirt, gravel or snow-covered roads
●When driving with tire chains
●When driving over bumps in the road
●When driving over roads with potholes or uneven surfaces
■TRC/VSC may not operate effectively when
Directional control and power may not be achievable while driving on slippery road
surfaces, even if the TRC/VSC system is operating.
Drive the vehicle carefully in conditions where stability and power may be lost.
■Hill- start assist control does not operate effectively when
●Do not overly rely on hill-start assist control. Hill-start assist control may not operate
effectively on steep inclines and roads covered with ice.
●Unlike the parking brake, hill-start assist co ntrol is not intended to hold the vehicle
stationary for an extended period of time. Do not attempt to use hill-start assist con-
trol to hold the vehicle on an incline, as doing so may lead to an accident.
■When the VSC is activated
The slip indicator light flashes. Always drive carefully. Reckless driving may cause an
accident. Exercise particular care when the indicator light flashes.
■When the TRC/VSC systems are turned off
Be especially careful and drive at a speed appropriate to the road conditions. As these
are the systems to help ensure vehicle stability and driving force, do not turn the TRC/
VSC systems off unless necessary.
■Replacing tires
Make sure that all tires are of the specified size, brand, tread pattern and total load
capacity. In addition, make sure that the tire s are inflated to the recommended tire infla-
tion pressure level.
The ABS, TRC and VSC systems will not function correctly if different tires are installed
on the vehicle.
Contact any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer for further information when replacing tires or wheels.
■Handling of tires and the suspension
Using tires with any kind of problem or modifying the suspension w ill affect the driving
assist systems, and may cause a system to malfunction.

ABS warning lightIndicates a malfunction in:
•The ABS; or
• The brake assist system
 Have the vehicle inspected by an y authorized Lexus retailer or
Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer immediately.
Parking brake warning light (warning buzzer)*1
Indicates that the parking brake is engaged
 Release the parking brake.
Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steering) sys-
tem
 Have the vehicle inspected by an y authorized Lexus retailer or
Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer immediately.
(If equipped)
LDA (Lane Departure Alert) indicator If the LDA indicato r is illuminated:
Indicates a malfunction in the LDA (Lane Departure Alert with
steering control) system.
 Check the warning message displa yed on the multi-information
display. ( P. 560)
If the LDA indicator flashes:
Indicates that the vehicle has deviated from the lane (while the
LDA [Lane Departure Alert with stee ring control] system is oper-
ating)
 Check the area around the vehi cle and return the vehicle to
between the lane lines.

The operation conditions of the camera sensor (tem-
perature, etc.) are not met.
When the operation conditions of the camera sen-
sor (temperature, etc.) are met, the following sys-
tems will become available.
• PCS (Pre-Collision System)
• LDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering control) system
• Automatic High Beam
• RSA (Road Sign Assist)
(If equipped)
Indicates that the system is temporarily unavailable due
to a malfunction in a sensor other than the camera sen-
sor A buzzer also sounds.
 Turn the LDA (Lane Depart ure Alert with steering
control) system off, wait for a little while, and then
turn the LDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering
control) system back on.
(If equipped)
Dirt, rain, condensation, ice, snow, etc., are present on
the windshield in front of the camera sensor.
The following systems will be temporarily unusable.
• PCS (Pre-Collision System)
• LDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering control) system
• Automatic High Beam
• RSA (Road Sign Assist)
 Turn the system off, remove any dirt, rain, condensa-
tion, ice, snow, etc., from the windshield, and then
turn the system back on.
(If equipped)
Indicates a malfunction in the PCS (Pre-Collision Sys-
tem)
A buzzer also sounds.
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus
retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer.

WARNING
■When using the compact spare tire
●Remember that the compact spare tire provided is specifically designed for use with
your vehicle. Do not use your compact spare tire on another vehicle.
●Do not use more than one compact spare tires simultaneously.
●Replace the compact spare tire with a standard tire as soon as possible.
●Avoid sudden acceleration, abrupt steering, sudden braking and shifting operations
that cause sudden engine braking.
■When the compact spare tire is attached
The vehicle speed may not be correctly detected, and the following systems may not
operate correctly:
■Speed limit when using the compact spare tire
Do not drive at speeds in excess of 80 km /h (50 mph) when a compact spare tire is
installed on the vehicle.
The compact spare tire is not designed for driving at high speeds. Failure to observe
this precaution may lead to an accid ent causing death or serious injury.
■After using the tools and jack
Before driving, make sure all the tools and jack are securely in place in their storage
location to reduce the possibility of personal injury during a collision or sudden brak-
ing.
