■Rear door child-protector lock
The door cannot be opened from inside the
vehicle when the lock is set.

These locks can be set to prevent chil-
dren from opening the rear doors.
Push down on each rear door switch to
lock both rear doors.

*: To stop the window partway, operate the switch in the opposite direction.
■Window lock switch
Press the switch down to lock the passen-
ger window switches.
The indicator will come on.
Use this switch to prevent children from
accidentally opening or closing a pas-
senger window.
The passenger windows can still be
opened and closed using the power win-
dow switches on the driver’s side even if
the lock switch is on.

3: It also comes on due to natural causes such as natural air leaks and tire inflation pressure changes caused by temperature. Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified level.
The light will turn off after a few minutes. In case the light does not turn off even if the tire
inflation pressure is adjusted, have the system checked by your Lexus dealer.

If the electronic key does not operate properly
■Unlocking and locking the doors
Use the mechanical key ( →P.1 2 ) i n o r d e r t o
perform the following operations (driver’s
door only):
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and moon roof*
(turn and hold)
Unlocks the doors
Turning the key rearward unlocks the
driver’s door. Turning the key once
again unlocks the other doors.
Opens the windows and moon roof*
(turn and hold)
*: These settings must be customized at your Lexus dealer.
■Starting the engine
Ensure that the shift lever is in P and
depress the brake pedal.
Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the engine switch.
If any of the doors is opened or
closed while the key is being touched
to the switch, an alarm will sound to
indicate that the start function cannot
detect the electronic key.
Press the engine switch within 10 sec-
onds of the buzzer sounding, keeping
the brake pedal depressed.
In the event that the engine switch still cannot be operated , contact your Lexus dealer.

If the electronic key battery becomes depleted , replace it with a new battery. For instruc-
tions on replacing the battery, refer to the “O WNER’S MANUAL”. If you need further assis-
tance, contact your Lexus dealer.

If the engine does not start
Make sure that the correct operating procedures have been followed.Make sure that the brake pedal is firmly
depressed when attempting to start the
engine. (→P.1 6 )
Make sure that the steering lock is released.
To release the steering lock, gently turn the
wheel left or right while pressing the engine
switch. ( →P.1 5 )
