Press or on the meter
control switch and select “TPMS”.
Then press and hold until a
message is displayed.
The message will be displayed on the multi-information display and the tirepressure warning light will blink
slowly 3 times.
When the message disappears, ini- tialization is complete.
◆Registering ID codes
The tire pressure warning valve and tran smitter is equipped with a unique ID
code. When replacing a tire pressure wa rning valve and transmitter, it is nec-
essary to register the ID code. Have the ID code registered by any authorized
Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
■When to replace your vehicle’s tires
Tires should be replaced if:
●The treadwear indicators are showing on a tire.
●You have tire damage such as cuts, splits, cracks deep enough to expose the fabric, and
bulges indicating internal damage
●A tire goes flat repeatedly or cannot be properly repaired due to the size or location of a cut or other damage
If you are not sure, consult with any auth orized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
■Replacing tires and wheels (vehicles with the tire pressure warning system)
If the ID code of the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter is not registered, the tire pressure warning system will not work proper ly. After driving for about 10 minutes, the tire pressure warning light blinks for 1 minu te and stays on to indicate a system malfunc-
tion.
■Tire life
Any tire over 6 years old must be checked by a qualified technician even if it has seldom
or never been used or damage is not obvious.
■Routine tire inflation pressure checks
The tire pressure warning system does not re place routine tire inflation pressure checks.
Make sure to check tire inflation pressure as part of your routine of daily vehicle checks.

■When rotating the tires (vehicles with the tire pressure warning system featuring a tire inflation pressure display function)
Make sure that the power switch is off. If the tires are rotated while the power switch is in
ON mode, the tire position information will not be updated. If this accidentally occurs, either turn the power switch to off and then to ON mode, orinitialize the system after checking that the tire pressure is properly adjusted.
■Low profile tires (except 225/50R17 tires)
Generally, low profile tires will wear more rapidly and tire grip performance will be reduced on snowy and/or icy roads when comp ared to standard tires. Be sure to use
snow tires or tire chains on snowy and/or icy roads and drive carefully at a speed appro- priate for road and weather conditions. ( P. 336)
■If the tread on snow tires wears down below 4 mm (0.16 in.)
The effectiveness of the tires as snow tires is lost.
■Situations in which the tire pressure warning system may not operate properly (vehi- cles with the tire pressure warning system)
●In the following cases, the tire pressure warning system may not operate properly.
• If non-genuine Lexus wheels are used. • A tire has been replaced with a tire that is not an OE (Original Equipment) tire.
• A tire has been replaced with a tire that is not of the specified size. • Tire chains etc. are equipped.• An auxiliary-supported run-flat tire is equipped.
• If a window tint that affects the radio wave signals is installed. • If there is a lot of snow or ice on the vehi cle, particularly around the wheels or wheel housings.
• If the tire inflation pressure is extr emely higher than the specified level. • If wheel without the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter are used.
• If the ID code on the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters is not registered in the tire pressure warning computer.
●Performance may be affected in the following situations.
• Near a TV tower, electric power plant, gas station, radio station, large display, air- port or other facility that generates st rong radio waves or electrical noise
• When carrying a portable radio, cellular phone, cordless phone or other wireless communication deviceVehicles with the tire inflation pressure display function: If tire position information is
not correctly displayed due to the radio wave conditions, the display may be corrected by driving and changing the radio wave conditions.
●When the vehicle is parked, the time taken for the warning to start or go off could be
extended.
●When tire inflation pressure declines rapi dly for example when a tire has burst, the warning may not function.

WARNING
■When inspecting or replacing tires
Observe the following precautions to prevent accidents. Failure to do so may cause damage to parts of the drive train as well as dangerous han-
dling characteristics, which may lead to an acc ident resulting in death or serious injury.
●Do not mix tires of different makes, models or tread patterns. Also, do not mix tires of remarkably different treadwear.
●Do not use tire sizes other than those recommended by Lexus.
●Do not mix differently constructed tires (radial, bias-belted or bias-ply tires).
●Do not mix summer, all season and snow tires.
●Do not use tires that have been used on another vehicle.Do not use tires if you do not know how they were used previously.
●Vehicles with compact spare tire: Do not tow if your vehicle has a compact spare tire
installed.
●Vehicles with emergency tire puncture repair kit: Do not tow anything if a tire that has been repaired using the emergency tire punc ture repair kit is installed. The load on
the tire may cause unexpected damage to the tire.
■When initializing the tire pressure warning system (vehicles with the tire pressure warning system)
Do not initialize tire inflation pressure withou t first adjusting the tire inflation pressure to the specified level. Otherwise, the tire pre ssure warning light may not come on even if the tire inflation pressure is low, or it may come on when the tire inflation pressure is
actually normal.
■Caution regarding interference with electronic devices (vehicles with the tire pres- sure warning system featuring a tire inflation pressure display function)
●Users of any electrical medical device other than implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defi-
brillators should consult the manufacturer of the device for information about its operation under the influence of radio waves.Radio waves could have unexpected effects on the operation of such medical
devices.
●People with implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemak-
ers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators should not come within 450 mm (17.7 in.) ofthe tire pressure warning system initiators.
The radio waves may affect the operation of such devices.

Wheels
When replacing wheels, care should be taken to ensure that they are equivalent
to those removed in load capacity, diameter, rim width and inset*.
Replacement wheels are available at any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus
authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
*: Conventionally referred to as “offset”.
Lexus does not recommend using the following:
●Wheels of different sizes or types
●Used wheels
●Bent wheels that have been straightened
●Steel wheels (except for vehicles with steel spare wheel)
●Use only Lexus wheel nuts and wrenches designed for use with your alumi-
num wheels.
●When rotating, repairing or changing your tires, check that the wheel nuts are
still tight after driving 1600 km (1000 miles).
●Be careful not to damage the aluminum wheels when using tire chains.
●Use only Lexus genuine balance weights or equivalent and a plastic or rubber
hammer when balancing your wheels.
■When replacing wheels (vehicles with the tire pressure warning system)
The wheels of your vehicle are equipped with tire pressure warning valves and transmit- ters that allow the tire pressure warning sy stem to provide advance warning in the event of a loss in tire inflation pressure. Whenever wheels are replaced, tire pressure warning
valves and transmitters must be installed. (P. 418)
If a wheel is bent, cracked or heavily corroded, it should be replaced. Other-
wise, the tire may separate from the wheel or cause a loss of handling control.

WARNING
■When replacing wheels
●Do not use wheels that are a different size from those recommended in the Owner’s Manual, as this may result in a loss of handling control.
●Never use an inner tube in a leaking wheel which is designed for a tubeless tire. Doingso may result in an accident, causing death or serious injury.
●Except for vehicles with steel spare wheel: Do not install steel wheels.
The wheel contact surface could be damaged, and the wheel could come off while driving, which could lead to an accident re sulting in death or serious injury. (except for vehicles with steel spare wheel)
■Use of defective wheels prohibited
Do not use cracked or deformed wheels. Doing so could cause the tire to leak air during driving, possibly causing an accident.
NOTICE
■Replacing tire pressure warning valves and transmitters (vehicles with the tire pres-sure warning system)
●Because tire repair or replacement may affe ct the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters, make sure to have tires se rviced by any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer or other qualified service shop. In
addition, make sure to purchase your tire pressure warning valves and transmitters at any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus auth orized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
●Ensure that only genuine Lexus wheels are used on your vehicle.
Tire pressure warning valves and transmitte rs may not work properly with non-genu- ine wheels.

Firmly tighten each wheel nut two or
three times in the order shown in the
illustration.
Tightening torque:
103 N•m (10.5 kgf•m, 76 ft•lbf)
Stow the flat tire, tire jack and all tools.
■The compact spare tire
●The compact spare tire is identified by the label “TEMPORARY USE ONLY” on the tire sidewall.
●Use the compact spare tire temporarily, and only in an emergency.
●Make sure to check the tire inflation pressure of the compact spare tire. (P. 555)
■When using the compact spare tire (vehicles with the tire pressure warning system)
As the compact spare tire is not equipped with a tire pressure warning valve and trans-
mitter, low inflation pressure of the spare tire will not be indicated by the tire pressure warning system. Also, if you replace the compact spare tire after the tire pressure warn-ing light comes on, the light remains on.
■When the compact spare tire is equipped
The vehicle may become lower when driving with the compact spare tire compared to when driving with standard tires.
■If you have a flat rear tire on a road covered with snow or ice (vehicles with front andrear tires of the same size and compact spare tire only)
Install the compact spare tire on one of the front wheels of the vehicle. Perform the fol-
lowing steps and fit tire chains to the rear tires:
Replace a front tire with the compact spare tire.
Replace the flat rear tire with the tire removed from the front of the vehicle.

Turn the compressor switch on to inflate the tire until the recommended tire
inflation pressure is reached. Drive for about 5 km (3 miles) and then perform
step .
Attach the air release cap to the end
of the hose.
If the air release cap is not attached, the sealant may leak and the vehicle mayget dirty.
Store the bottle in the trunk while it is connected to the compressor.
Taking precautions to avoid sudden braking, sudden acceleration and sharp
turns, drive carefully at under 80 km /h (50 mph) to any authorized Lexus
retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer that is less than
100 km (62 miles) away for tire repair or replacement.
■Emergency tire puncture repair kit
●The sealant has a limited lifespa n. The expiry date is shown on the bottle. The sealant
should be replaced before the expiry date. Contact any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer for replacement.
●The sealant stored in the emergency tire puncture repair kit can be used only once to
temporarily repair a single tire. If the sealant has been used and need to be purchased, contact any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
●The sealant can be used when the outside temperature is from -40 C (-40 F) to 60 C (140 F).
●The repair kit is exclusively designed for size and type of tires originally installed on your
vehicle. Do not use it for tires that a different size than the original ones, or for any other purposes.
●If the sealant gets on your clothes, it may stain.
●If the sealant adheres to a wheel or the surface of the vehicle body, the stain may not beremovable if it is not cleaned at once. Immediately wipe away the sealant with a wetcloth.
●During operation of the repair kit, a loud operation noise is produced. This does not indicate a malfunction.

Disconnect the hose from the valve.
Disconnect the hose from the valve, remove the air release cap from the hose and then reconnect the hose.
Turn the compressor switch on and wait for se veral seconds, and then turn it off. Check that the air pressure indicator shows the recommended level. ( P. 555) If the air pressure is lower than the reco mmended level, turn the compressor switch on
again and repeat the inflation procedure un til the recommended pressure is reached.
■After a tire is repaired with the emergency tire puncture repair kit
●The tire pressure warning valve and transmitter should be replaced.
●Vehicles with the tire pressure warning system: Even if the tire inflation pressure is at the recommended level, the ti re pressure warning light may come on/flash.
■Note for checking the emergency tire puncture repair kit
Check the sealant expiry date occasionally. The expiry date is shown on the bottle.Do not use sealant whose expiry date has already passed. Otherwise, repairs conducted
using the emergency tire puncture repair kit may not be performed properly.
Install the air release cap to the end of the hose and push the protrusion on the airrelease cap into the tire valve to let some air
out.
