●In the situations shown below, the system may not be able to accurately detect sur- rounding brightness levels. This may cause the low beams to remain on or the highbeams to cause problems for pedestrians, vehicles ahead or other parties. In these
cases, manually switch between the high and low beams.
• In bad weather (rain, snow, fog, sandstorms etc.) • The windshield is obscured by fog, mist, ice, dirt etc.
• The windshield is cracked or damaged. • The inside rear view mirror or ca mera sensor is deformed or dirty. • The camera sensor temperature is extremely high.
• Surrounding brightness levels are equal to th ose of headlights, tail lights or fog lights. • Vehicles ahead have headlights that are either switched off, dirty, are changing color,or are not aimed properly.
• When driving through an area of interm ittently changing brightness and darkness. • When frequently and repeatedly driving ascending/descending roads, or roads withrough, bumpy or uneven surfaces (such as stone-paved roads, gravel tracks etc.).
• When frequently and repeatedly taking curves or driving on a winding road. • There is a highly reflective object ahead of the vehicle, such as a sign or a mirror.• The back of a vehicle ahead is highly reflective, such as a container on a truck.
• The vehicle’s headlights are damaged or dirty. • The vehicle is listing or tilting, due to a flat tire, a trailer being towed etc.• The high beam and low beam are repeated ly being switched between in an abnor-
mal manner. • The driver believes that the high beam may be causing problems or distress to otherdrivers or pedestrians nearby.
• When going through the Straits of Dover.

The Lexus Safety System+ consists of the following drive assist systems and
contributes to a safe and comfortable driving experience:

■Lexus Safety System+
The Lexus Safety System+ is designed to operate under the assumption that the driver will drive safely, and is designed to help reduce the impact to the occupants and the vehicle in the case of a collision or assist the driver in normal driving conditions.
As there is a limit to the degree of reco gnition accuracy and control performance that this system can provide, do no t overly rely on this system. The driver is always responsi- ble for paying attention to the vehicle’s surroundings and driving safely.

●The vehicle is driven on a road which tilts left or right, or a winding road.
●The vehicle is driven on an unpaved or rough road.
●The vehicle is driven around a sharp curve.
●The traffic lane is excessively narrow or wide.
●The vehicle is extremely tilted due to carrying heavy luggage or having improper tire pressure.
●The distance to the preceding vehicle is extremely short.
●The vehicle is moving up and down a large amount due to road conditions during driv-ing (poor roads or road seams).
●The headlight lenses are dirty and emit a faint amount of light at night, or the beam axis has deviated.
●The vehicle is struck by a crosswind.
●The vehicle has just changed lanes or crossed an intersection.
●Snow tires, etc. are equipped.

Warning messages are used to indicate a syst em malfunction or to inform the driver of the need for caution while driving. ( P. 466)

You may replace the following bulbs by yourself. The difficulty level of replace-
ment varies depending on the bulb. As there is a danger that components may
be damaged, we recommend that replacement is carried out by any autho-

■Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by any autho-
rized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
●Headlights
●Front position lights/daytime running lights
●Front fog lights
●Front turn signal lights (vehicles with triple-beam headlights)
●Side turn signal lights
●Stop/tail lights
●Stop lights
●Rear fog light
●Rear turn signal lights

■LED Lights
The lights other than the front turn signal lig ht (vehicles with single-beam headlights) and outer foot lights each consist of a number of LEDs. If any of the LEDs burn out, take your
vehicle to any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer to have the light replaced.
■Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not indicate a malfunction. Contact any authorized Lexus reta iler or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer for more information in the following situations:
●Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
●Water has built up inside the headlight.

 When the operation conditions of the camera sen- sor (temperature, etc.) are met, the following sys-tems will become available.

Indicates that the hybrid system has overheated This message may be displayed when driving under
severe operating conditions. (For example, when driv- ing up a long steep hill.)A buzzer also sounds.
