Indicate the approximate vehicle width when
backing up.
Predicted course lines

Indicate the predicted course when operating the
vehicle. The predicted course lines will be dis-
played on the monitor when the steering wheel is
turned. The predicted course lines will move de-
pending on how much the steering wheel is
turned and will not be displayed while the steer-
ing wheel is in the straight-ahead position. The front view will not be displayed when the
vehicle speed is above 6 mph (10 km/h).
NOTE:
When the monitor displays the front view
and the steering wheel turns about 90 de-
grees or less from the straight-ahead posi-
tion, both the right and left predicted
course lines
6are displayed. When the
steering wheel turns about 90 degrees or
more, a line is displayed only on the oppo-
site side of the turn.
Bird’s-eye view
The bird’s-eye view shows the overhead view of
the vehicle, which helps confirm the vehicle po-
sition and the predicted course to a parking
space.
The vehicle icon
1shows the position of the
vehicle. Note that the apparent distance between
objects viewed in the bird’s-eye view may differ
somewhat from the actual distance to the vehicle.
The areas that the cameras cannot cover

HOW TO PARK WITH PREDICTED
COURSE LINES
WARNING
● If the tires are replaced with different
sized tires, the predicted course lines
may be displayed incorrectly.
● On a snow-covered or slippery road,
there may be a difference between the
predicted course line and the actual
course line.
● If the battery is disconnected or be-
comes discharged, the predicted course
lines may be displayed incorrectly. If
this occurs, please perform the follow-
ing procedures:
– Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock while the hybrid system is
running.
– Drive the vehicle on a straight road for more than 5 minutes.
● When the steering wheel is turned with
the ignition switch in the ACC position,
the predicted course lines may be dis-
played incorrectly. 1. Visually check that the parking space is safe

HOW TO SWITCH THE DISPLAY
With the ignition switch in the ON position, press
the CAMERA button or move the shift lever to the
R (Reverse) position to operate the Around
View® Monitor.
The Around View® Monitor displays different
split screen views depending on the position of
the shift lever. Press the CAMERA button to
switch between the available views.
If the shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position, the
available views are:
● Rear view/bird’s-eye view split screen
● Rear view/front-side view split screen
● Rear-wide view If the shift lever is in the P (Park) position, the
available views are:
● Front view/bird’s-eye view split screen
● Front view/front-side view split screen
● Front-wide view
If the shift lever is in the D (Drive) position, the
only available view is front view/front-side view
split screen.
The display will switch from the Around View®
Monitor screen when: ● The shift lever is in the D (Drive) position and
the vehicle speed increases above approxi-
mately 6 mph (10 km/h)
● A different screen is selected.

●Do not use the recirculation mode for
long periods as it may cause the interior
air to become stale and the windows to
fog up.
Start the hybrid system and operate the controls
to activate the air conditioner.
NOTE: ● Odors from inside and outside the vehicle
can build up in the air conditioner unit. Odor
can enter the passenger compartment
through the vents.
● When parking, set the heater and air condi-
tioner controls to turn off air recirculation to
allow fresh air into the passenger compart-
ment. This should help reduce odors inside
the vehicle.
AUTOMATIC OPERATION
Cooling and/or dehumidified heating
(AUTO)
This mode may be used all year round as the
system automatically works to keep a constant
temperature. Air flow distribution, intake air con-
trol, and fan speed are also controlled automati-
cally. 1. Press the AUTO button on. (The indicator on
the button will illuminate and AUTO will be
displayed.)
2. Operate the driver’s side temperature con- trol buttons.
● Adjust the temperature display to about
75°F (24°C) for normal operation.
● The temperature of the passenger compart-
ment will be maintained automatically. Air
flow distribution, intake air control, and fan
speed are also controlled automatically.
● A visible mist may be seen coming from the
ventilators in hot, humid conditions as the air
is cooled rapidly. This does not indicate a
malfunction.
Dehumidified defrosting or defogging
1. Press thefront defroster button on.
(The indicator light on the button will come
on.)
2. Operate the temperature control buttons to set the desired temperature.
● To quickly remove ice from the outside of the
windows, use the
fan speed control
buttons to set the fan speed to maximum. ●
As soon as possible after the windshield is
clean, press the AUTO button to return to
the automatic mode.
● When the
front defroster button is
pressed, the air conditioner will automati-
cally be turned on at outside temperatures
above 36°F (2°C) . The air recirculate mode
automatically turns off, allowing outside air
to be drawn into the passenger compart-
ment to further improve the defogging per-
formance.
Remote hybrid start logic (if so
equipped)
Vehicles equipped with automatic climate con-
trols and remote start function may go into auto-
matic heating or cooling mode when remote start
is activated depending on outside and cabin tem-
peratures. During this period, the climate control
display and buttons will be inoperable until the
ignition switch is turned on. In remote start de-
frosting mode, the heated steering wheel (if so
equipped) may be activated automatically.

While the display is showing a map (if so
equipped) , status, or audio screen, tilt the Tuning
switch upward or downward to select a station,
track, or folder. For most audio sources, tilting the
switch up/down for more than 1.5 seconds pro-
vides a different function than tilting up/down for
less than 1.5 seconds.
AM and FM
● Tilt up/down for less than 1.5 seconds to
increase or decrease the preset station.
● Tilt up/down for more than 1.5 seconds to
seek up or down to the next station.
XM ● Tilt up/down for less than 1.5 seconds to
increase or decrease the preset channel.
● Tilt up/down for more than 1.5 seconds to
fast tune the channels.

ANTENNA
The vehicle is equipped with a shark fin antenna
and an antenna pattern is printed inside the rear
window.
CAUTION
● Do not place metalized film near the
rear window glass or attach any metal
parts to it. This may cause poor recep-
tion or noise.
● When cleaning the inside of the rear
window, be careful not to scratch or
damage the rear window antenna.
Lightly wipe along the antenna with a
dampened soft cloth.
AUDIO MAIN OPERATION
Turning audio system on/off
The ignition switch must be in the ACC or ON
position to turn on the audio system. Push the
VOL/ON•OFF knob to turn on the last audio
source which was playing immediately before the
system was turned off. To turn off the audio
system, push the VOL/ON•OFFknob again.
Displaying Audio screen
Push theAUDIObutton on the control panel to
display the current audio screen.
Selecting audio source
1. Turn on the audio source menu screen by touching the “Source” key on the upper left
corner of the audio screen.
2. Select an item from the audio source menu screen.
● Pushing the RADIO,DISC,MEDIA or
SOURCE button on the steering switch can
also change the audio source. For additional
information, refer to “Names and functions of
audio control buttons” in this section.

●“Phonebook” key
Select a telephone number from the phone-
book.
The telephone number must be transferred
to the phonebook from the cellular phone
prior to using this method. For additional
information, refer to “Phone and text mes-
sage settings” in this section.
● “Dial Number” key
Input the phone number manually using the
keypad displayed on the screen. Touch
the
key to call the number. For addi-
tional information, refer to “How to input
letters and numbers” in this section.
3. The number will be dialed and the screen will change to the call in progress screen.
Receiving a call
When you receive a phone call, a notification
message is displayed on the touch screen dis-
play with a ring tone.
Taking a call
To answer a call, take one of the following ac-
tions.
● Push the
switch on the steering
wheel. ●
Press the
button on the control panel
(models without navigation system) .
● Touch the “Answer” key.
Reject a call
To reject a call, touch the “Decline” key.
