WINDSHIELD WIPERS
Note:Fully defrost the windshield beforeswitching on the windshield wipers.
Note:Make sure you switch off thewindshield wipers before entering a carwash.
Note:Clean the windshield and wiperblades if they begin to leave streaks orsmears. If that does not resolve the issue,install new wiper blades.
Note:Do not operate the wipers on a drywindshield. This may scratch the glass,damage the wiper blades or cause the wipermotor to burn out. Always use thewindshield washers before wiping a drywindshield.
Rotate the end of the control:
•Away from you to increase the wiperspeed.
•Toward you to decrease the wiperspeed.
Speed dependent wipers (ifequipped)
When your vehicle speed increases, theinterval between wipes decreases.
AUTOWIPERS (If Equipped)
Note:Make sure you switch off the wipersbefore entering a car wash.
Note:Wet or winter driving conditions withice, snow or salty road mist can causeinconsistent and unexpected wiping orsmearing.
In these conditions, you can do thefollowing to help keep your windshieldclear:
•Lower the sensitivity of the autowipers.
•Change the wiper speed to normal orhigh-speed wipe as necessary.
•Switch the autowipers off.
The autowipers feature uses a rain sensor,located in the area around the interiormirror. The rain sensor monitors theamount of moisture on the windshield andautomatically turns on the wipers. It willadjust the wiper speed by the amount ofmoisture that the sensor detects on thewindshield. You can switch this feature onor off in the information display. SeeInformation Displays (page 111).

Use the rotary control to adjust thesensitivity of the rain sensor. With lowsensitivity, the wipers will operate whenthe sensor detects a large amount ofmoisture on the windshield. With highsensitivity, the wipers will operate whenthe sensor detects a small amount ofmoisture on the windshield. Adjust therotary control toward the windshield toincrease the moisture sensitivity.
Keep the outside of the windshield cleanbecause the rain sensor is very sensitive. Ifthe area around the interior mirror is dirty,then the wipers may turn on, for example,if dirt, mist or insects hit the windshield.
The courtesy wipe feature turns on afterusing the windshield washers to removeany excess washer fluid and debris.
Note:You can adjust the courtesy wipesettings in the instrument cluster. SeeInformation Displays (page 111).
WINDSHIELD WASHERS
Note:Do not operate the wipers on a drywindshield. This may scratch the glass,damage the wiper blades or cause the wipermotor to burn out. Always use thewindshield washer before wiping a drywindshield.
Note:Do not operate the washers whenthe washer reservoir is empty. This maycause the washer pump to overheat.
•A brief press causes a single wipewithout washer fluid.
•A brief press and hold causes thewipers to swipe three times withwasher fluid.
•A long press and hold will turn on thewipers and washer fluid for up to 10seconds.
A wipe will occur a few seconds afterwashing to clear any remaining washerfluid. You can switch this feature on or offin the information display. SeeInformation Displays (page 111).

Headlamp Flasher
Slightly pull the lever toward you andrelease it to flash the headlamps.
AUTOLAMPS (If Equipped)
WARNING
The autolamps switch position maynot activate the headlamps in all lowvisibility conditions, such as daytimefog. Always ensure that your headlampsare switched to auto or on, as appropriate,during all low visibility conditions. Failureto do so may result in a collision.
When the lighting control is in theautolamps position, the headlampsautomatically turn on in low light situationsor when the wipers activate.
If equipped, the following also activatewhen the lighting control is in theautolamps position and you switch themon in the information display:
•Configurable daytime running lamps.
•Automatic high beam control.
•Adaptive headlamp control.
The headlamps remain on for a period oftime after you switch the ignition off. Usethe information display controls to adjustthe period of time that the headlampsremain on. See Information Displays(page 111).
Note:With the headlamps in theautolamps position, you cannot switch thehigh beam headlamps on until theautolamps system turns the low beamheadlamps on.
Windshield Wiper ActivatedHeadlamps
The windshield wiper activated headlampsturn on within 10 seconds when you switchthe windshield wipers on and the lightingcontrol is in the autolamps position. Theyturn off approximately 60 seconds afteryou switch the windshield wipers off.
The headlamps will not turn on by wiperactivation:
•During a mist wipe.
•When the wipers are on to clear washerfluid during a wash condition.
•If the wipers are in intermittent mode.
Note: If you switch autolamps andautowipers on, the headlamps willautomatically turn on when the windshieldwipers continuously operate.

•Never wash or rinse any ignition coil,spark plug wire or spark plug well, orthe area in and around these locations.
•Cover the battery, power distributionbox, and air filter assembly to preventwater damage when cleaning theengine.
CLEANING THE EXHAUST -
6.7L DIESEL
WARNINGS
Failure to maintain the functionalholes, in the tailpipe section of theexhaust, clean and free of debris orforeign material may result in the holesbecoming blocked or plugged. Do notmodify or remove the tail-pipe section.Blocked or plugged holes orremoval/modification of the system couldresult in elevated exhaust gastemperatures which may result invehicle/property damage or personalinjury.
The normal operating temperatureof the exhaust system is very high.Never work around or attempt torepair any part of the exhaust system untilit has cooled. Use special care whenworking around the diesel oxidationcatalytic converter and/or the dieselparticulate filter (DPF). The dieseloxidation catalytic converter and/or theDPF heats up to a high temperature afteronly a short period of engine operation andcan stay hot even after the engine is turnedoff. Failure to follow these instructions mayresult in personal injury.
The visible holes in the exhaust tip and theholes under the shield just inboard of theright rear tire(s) are functional. The holesneed to be kept clear of mud/debris orforeign material to maintain properfunction of the exhaust system. Clean andremove debris or foreign material if presentas needed. Spraying with a hose duringregular washing of vehicle should helpkeep holes clean and clear of debris orforeign material.
CLEANING THE WINDOWS AND
WIPER BLADES
Car wash chemicals and environmentalfallout can result in windshield and wiperblade contamination. Dirty windshield andwipers will result in poor windshield wiperoperation. Keep the windshield and wiperblades clean to maintain windshield wiperperformance.

Engine
•Change the engine oil and filter prior tostorage because used engine oilcontains contaminates which maycause engine damage.
•Start the engine every 15 days for aminimum of 15 minutes. Run at fast idlewith the climate controls set to defrostuntil the engine reaches normaloperating temperature.
•With your foot on the brake, shiftthrough all the gears while the engineis running.
•We recommend that you change theengine oil before you use your vehicleagain.
Fuel system
•Fill the fuel tank with high-quality fueluntil the first automatic shutoff of thefuel pump nozzle.
Cooling system
•Protect against freezing temperatures.
•When removing your vehicle fromstorage, check coolant fluid level.Confirm that there are no coolingsystem leaks and that fluid is at therecommended level.
Battery
•Check and recharge as necessary. Keepconnections clean.
•If storing your vehicle for more than 30days without recharging the battery,we recommend that you disconnectthe battery cables to maintain batterycharge for quick starting.
Note:It is necessary to reset memoryfeatures if battery cables are disconnected.
Brakes
•Make sure the brakes and parking brakerelease fully.
Tires
•Maintain recommended air pressure.
Miscellaneous
•Make sure all linkages, cables, leversand pins under your vehicle are coveredwith grease to prevent rust.
•Move vehicles at least 25 ft (7.5 m)every 15 days to lubricate working partsand prevent corrosion.
Removing Vehicle From Storage
When your vehicle is ready to come out ofstorage, do the following:
•Wash your vehicle to remove any dirtor grease film build-up on windowsurfaces.
•Check windshield wipers for anydeterioration.
•Check under the hood for any foreignmaterial that may have collectedduring storage such as mice or squirrelnests.
•Check the exhaust for any foreignmaterial that may have collectedduring storage.
•Check tire pressures and set tireinflation per the Tire Label.
•Check brake pedal operation. Driveyour vehicle 15 ft (4.5 m) back andforth to remove rust build-up.
•Check fluid levels (including coolant,oil and gas) to make sure there are noleaks, and fluids are at recommendedlevels.
•If you remove the battery, clean thebattery cable ends and check fordamage.
