Vehicles with remote control
Some of these conditions prevent
automatic engine restart when opening:
one of the doors (for vehicles with a
key);
the passenger door (for vehicles with
an electronic key).
IRREGULAR OPERATION
When the appropriate message
appears on the instrument panel, along
with the integrated light 2 in button 1
fig. 65, the system is deactivated.
Contact a Fiat Dealership.
WARNING
29)In case of an emergency stop, the
engine could restart by pressing the clutch
pedal if the Start&Stop function is
activated.
IMPORTANT
2)Do not drive when the engine is in
standby (the warning lighton the
instrument panel turns on).
3)When the engine in stand-by, the power
steering is deactivated.4)If you leave the vehicle, there is an
acoustic warning that the engine is in
stand-by mode (it is not off). Before getting
out of the vehicle, you must disengage the
starter device (refer to the "Starter switch”
paragraph in the “Knowing your vehicle”
chapter).

Power Mirrors
Position the switch 1 fig. 66 on:

Mirrors with manual adjustment
To adjust the position, press on mirror A

Defrosting
Depending on the trim level, with the
engine running, the mirrors are
defrosted together with the rear
windows.

Mirrors with manual adjustment:
When driving at night, to avoid being
dazzled by vehicle lights behind you,
move the lever 2 fig. 67 located behind
the mirror.
Electrochromic mirror: The mirror
automatically darkens at night when
you are followed by a vehicle with its
lights on.
WARNING
30)For safety reasons, carry out these
operations when the vehicle is stopped.
31)When driving, the external mirrors must
always be in the open position. As door
mirrors are curved, they may slightly alter
the perception of distance.32)Objects reflected in the rear view mirror
are actually closer than they appear. For
safety reasons, keep this in mind to
correctly assess the distance before any
manoeuvring.

IMPORTANT In the case of ice or snow,
clean the windscreen (including the
central section behind the interior rear
view mirror) and the rear window before
activating the wipers (risk of overheating
their electric motor). Check the status
of the wiper blades:
they have to stay clean: clean both
windscreen and rear window regularly
with soapy water;
do not use them when the
windscreen and rear window are dry;
detach them from the windscreen or
rear window if they have not been used
for a long time.
In any case, replace them as soon as
they are no longer efficient: about once
a year. Before using the rear wiper,
check that there is no item that could
interfere with the wiper trajectory.

Rear intermittent window wiper

With the starter switch on, rotate the
end of lever 1 fig. 83 until the symbol
is aligned with the reference 2

Rear window washer
With the starter switch on, rotate the
end of lever 1 fig. 83 until the symbol
is aligned with the reference 2

When you release the lever, it goes
back to the rear window washer
position.
NOTE If the wipers are operating or are
in automatic mode, when you put thegear in reverse, the rear window starts
working intermittently.
IMPORTANT In the case of ice or snow,

AUTO function (automatic
operation)
Automatic air conditioning is a system
that guarantees (except when using it in
extreme conditions) interior comfort and
a good level of visibility, optimising
consumption. The system uses
ventilation speed, air distribution, air
recycling, activating or turning off the air
conditioner and air temperature.
AUTO: optimising the selected comfort
level reached according to exterior
conditions. Press button 1 fig. 94.
Ventilation speed variation
In automatic mode, the system
oversees the best ventilation speed to
reach and maintain comfort.
You can always adjust the ventilation
speed by turning control 6 fig. 94 to
increase or reduce it.
Air temperature adjustment
Use control 2 fig. 94 depending on the
desired temperature.
The farther to the right you turn it, the
higher the air temperature.
NOTE The farthest adjustments allow
the system to produce the coldest or
hottest air ("18°C" and "26°C").
MAX DEF function
Press button 3 fig. 94 and the
integrated warning light will go on.
This function lets you quickly defrost
and de-mist the windscreen and rear
windows, the side front windows andexterior rear view mirrors (depending on
the vehicle version). Set the automatic
air condition and rear window defrost
activation.
Press button 8 fig. 94 to disconnect the
rear window heat function, the
integrated warning light goes off.
To turn the function off, press button 3
fig. 94 or 1 fig. 94.
IMPORTANT Some of the buttons have
an in use light that indicates the
function status.
Passenger compartment air
distribution
Press one of the buttons 4 fig. 94. The
warning light in the selected button
goes on.
You can select two positions at a time
by pressing two of the buttons 4 fig. 94.
The airflow is distributed mainly
among all the vents, the side front
window demisting vents and the
windscreen demisting vents.
The airflow is directed mainly to the
dashboard vents.
The airflow is directed mainly to the
rear seat lower vents.
Heated rearscreen and door mirror
thermal resistance switch
(For versions/markets where provided)
Press button 8 fig. 94 and the
integrated warning light will go on. This
function lets you quickly demist the
rearscreen and door mirrors (forversions/markets where provided).
Press button 8 fig. 94 again to
deactivate the this function. The
function turns off automatically
Turning the climate control system
on/off
In automatic mode, the climate control
system turns on or off according to the
outside weather conditions.
Press button 5 fig. 94 to turn off the
climate control system and the
integrated indicator light will turn on.
IMPORTANT Vehicles equipped with
the ECOMODE function (button 9
fig. 95 ): when enabled, the ECOMODE
function can reduce the automatic
climate control system performance.

When in reverse, video camera 1
fig. 101 located on the tailgate or on the
rear swing door, depending on the
vehicle, lets you view the area behind
the vehicle on the inside rear view
mirror 2 fig. 102 or on the multi-media
display panel 3 fig. 103, along with one
or two shapes 4 fig. 104and 5
fig. 104(moving and stationary).
NOTE Check that the rear view video
camera is not covered up (dirt, mud,
snow, etc.).NOTE Depending on the versions,
adjust a few of the parameters on the
multi-media display panel 3 fig. 103.
Moving shape 4 (depending on the
vehicle): is represented in blue on the
multi-media display panel 3fig. 103.It
indicates the vehicle's trajectory
according to the steering wheel
position.Stationary shape 5: the stationary
shape consists of coloured references
A, B and C fig. 104that indicate the
distance behind the vehicle:
A (red) about 30 centimetres from the
vehicle;
B (yellow) about 70 centimetres from
the vehicle;
C (green) about 150 centimetres
from the vehicle.
This shape remains stationary and
indicates the vehicle's trajectory if the
wheels are aligned.
This system is initially used by making
use of one or more shapes (moving for
the trajectory, stationary for the
distance). When you get to the red
zone, use the bumper representation to
stop accurately.

What to do
Wash the car by hand, with lots of
water, using a soft cloth or sponge.
Going through an automatic car
wash
Bring the windscreen wiper to the stop
position (refer to the "Windscreen /
Rearscreen wiper” paragraph in the
"Getting to know your vehicle” chapter).
Check that external equipment is fixed
properly (additional lamps, rearview
mirrors) and remove the radio aerial (for
versions/markets where provided).
Headlight cleaning
Since the headlights are equipped with
plastic materials, use a soft cloth or
cotton pad. If this is not sufficient, wet it
slightly with soapy water, then rinse with
a soft cloth or cotton. Finish by drying
delicately with a soft, dry cloth. Do not
use alcohol-based products.
Windows
(e.g.: the instrument panel, clock,
outside temperature display panel,
radio display panel, multi-media or
multi-function display panel, etc.)
Use a soft, cotton cloth. If this is not
sufficient, use a soft cloth (or a cotton
pad) slightly wetted with soapy water,
then rinse with a soft cloth or wet
cotton.
Finish by drying delicately with a soft,
dry cloth.
Do not use alcohol-based productsand/or nebulisers on the area.
WARNING
210)In order to preserve the aesthetic
appearance of the paint, abrasive products
and/or polishes should not be used for
cleaning the vehicle.
211)Avoid washing with rollers and/or
brushes in washing stations. Wash the
vehicle only by hand using neutral pH
detergents; dry it with a dampened
chamois leather. Abrasive products and/or
polishes should not be used for cleaning
the vehicle. Bird droppings must be
washed off immediately and thoroughly as
the acid they contain is particularly
aggressive. Avoid (if at all possible) parking
the vehicle under trees; remove vegetable
resins immediately as, when dried, it may
only be possible to remove them with
abrasive products and/or polishes, which is
highly inadvisable as they could alter the
typical opaqueness of the paint. Do not
use pure windscreen washer fluid for
cleaning the front windscreen and rear
window; dilute it min. 50% with water. Only
use pure screen washer fluid when strictly
necessary due to outside temperature
conditions.
IMPORTANT
7)Detergents pollute the environment. The
vehicle should be washed in areas
equipped for collecting and purifying the
liquid used in the washing process.

If it undergoes correct service, the
vehicle can last longer. Therefore, we
advise you to regularly see to servicing
the interior of your vehicle.
Every spot must be seen to promptly.
Whatever caused the stain, use cold,
soapy water (possibly warm) based on
mild soap.
Detergents are prohibited (liquid
detergent for dishes, powdered
detergent, alcohol-based products).
Use a soft cloth.
Rinse and blot the excess water.
Fabric (seats, door coverings, etc.)
Dust the fabric regularly.
Liquid spots
Use soapy water.
Blot lightly (without rubbing) with a soft
cloth, then rinse and remove residual
liquid.
Solid or pasty spots
Immediately and delicately remove the
excess solid or pasty material with a
spatula (working from the edges to the
middle, keeping the spot from growing).
Clean as indicated for liquid spots.
Special procedure for candy,
chewing gum
Apply an ice cube to crystalise it, then
proceed as indicated for solid spots.
